  • Join this adventure!- igg.me/at/UMAM... Thank you so much for showing a lot of support and love!!!!!!! We are really grateful! The crowdfunding continue until next month, please join our adventure!
The biggest decision of our lives is to go on the UMAMI SAUCE tour! We want to leave on an adventure!
We came up with the idea of UMAMI SAUCE three and a half years ago, and the first step was to find a soy sauce maker who would make it for us.
I had to produce an unprecedented amount of paperwork, go to the factory workers to ask for help, travel to the U.S. by myself, etc....
After all that, UMAMI SAUCE was finally born surrounded by warm people, and production in the U.S. will finally begin this summer.
We have been thinking about how we can actually get UMAMI SAUCE to as many people as possible, and we want to go on this adventure called the UMAMI SAUCE TOUR! and my family and I are dreaming about it.
But ...... The investment we have made in the development of UMAMI SAUCE over the past three years has been very expensive, and with the weak yen, we have been struggling to make a decision to crowdfund the project.
Our team has worked together to create a crowdfunding page, so please take a look!
    igg.me/at/UMAM...
It is interesting just to read this page!
We also came up with a lot of Perks that we think everyone around the world will enjoy, so we hope you will be able to go on this adventure with many Kimonokos!
If you are interested in renting out your RV or if you have any queries, please contact me at

I understand that most people have to earn money, but in this case I don't understand why they are begging for money to fund their business and to finance a year-long vacation in the USA. I think that this family is making good money with their RUclips channel, their products and the ever-increasing advertising. I would rather donate my money to people or animals in need.

It is very difficult to get the loan from the bank in Japan. Even though she makes a huge amount of money by RUclips, they usually don’t approve it since being RUclips is less stable. If it’s out of ordinary, anything that no one has done before, it is almost impossible to get the loan for that. Maybe getting the co-signer could get more chance, culturally no one wants to be a co-signer.
With that being said, I completely understand what you’re saying. She already promoted her business widely all over the world via RUclips, and need of USA tour is very subjective.
So my opinion is this, if you wanna see them in person, go ahead support them. If you just want to enjoy the product, not interested in meeting them, feel free not pay anything to this funds. After all it’s your money and time.

I am sure this is an unpopular opinion because I know this community absolutely adores you. I mean community is one thing but having the option to purchase an RV for you for six figures is a big call. And telling people to raise 300K for your own endeavors to travel the world to sell your product? I get it if this is a charity thing but you are asking people to fund your business where you will be profiting from it yourself. If you believe in your product, wouldn't you go to the bank for a business loan instead. Or launch a cookbook to raise revenue? To me, this is kind of bordering asking people to go fund you on a holiday.

She's not gonna change a thing because its legally right but we know its morally wrong to rob your supporters/fans off their own money for her own selfish earnings even if the fans wants to give them to her. She should be a responsible influencer and a mom to correct her fans/kimonokos to not spend their hard earned money that way even if they love her. She should thank them for the offer but decline the money and give back to the community so that they can help them when its actually very necessary and not just because the fans are too generous and therefore not lose this opportunity to exploit them and hoard as much money as she can because the future is not guaranteed.

I often reflected on my shortcomings as a mother and wife. I’m happy for the success of her channel, but now the channel seems more commercialized and has lost that authentic and homey feel that made this channel so wonderful and unique. I know this often happens when RUclipsrs gain fame, money and success. I remember this channel when it didn’t have that many followers. That sweetness and rawness is lost now. Maybe it’s because she employs staff members now that her channel and business has become successful. I miss the Moe that used to be. This is just my view, and I still wish the best for Moe and her family. But for me, I liked this channel best when Moe and Sutan made homemade Japanese food in the kitchen and her husband had his own job. When he’d come home from work, Sutan would run to greet him and Moe would light up and they would often eat together as a family. I miss those times.

I would highly encourage you to not drive the camper van directly from city to city when visiting the States. For one, the roads are very dangerous even for us native commuters. Also, some destination cities have very dangerous areas that receive very little police oversight and the locals would be unwelcoming in most cases if you were to find yourselves lost in these areas. I would highly advise flying to each city instead and having a moving service ship the van to each destination city. This would be the safest way for you and your family to enjoy North America while staying safe. I hope this helps. You have a lovely family and sadly the Americas are not nearly as safe as it is in Japan.

  • @justanotherrandomaccount5920

Unfortunately, I don't think people in the states are going to want to buy your sauce. It unfortunately just doesn't stand out any more than anything else on the shelves. What's more, the average American doesn't have money to splurge on some fancy sauce when there are much cheaper alternatives available that taste just as good. Also, in America, at least on the west coast, we have very extensive Asian communities living here, and are already very accustomed to Japanese food and the like. We have many Japanese ingredients readily available. Seattle, for example, has teriyaki, sushi, udon, or Japanese-style ramen available on nearly every block. The Americans who aren't familiar with Japanese cuisine are also unfortunately likely to be xenophobic, and thus, refuse to try a lot of Japanese dishes.
I also think a promotional tour would only cause you to lose money, and I think you know that too, which is why you're asking us to fund it. The reaction the average American will have to this video is, "I don't have the money for such a thing, and if I did, I would donate to a charitable venture instead of to a family I do not know who is much better off than me". Americans are very much culturally opposed to this sort of monetary effort, and the cultural expectation for hopeful entrepreneurs is that they fund their own risky financial ventures without asking others to chip in. We Americans are also especially opposed to funding the creation and distribution of promotional material, since it doesn't directly impact the quality of the product in any way, and that's the only real reason any of us participate in crowdfunding. We view the product itself as something worth funding, but funding commercials is usually seen as the responsibility of the people behind the product. Americans also REALLY hate advertisements of any kind, so the last thing most of us want is to fund them directly. Especially when the type of promotion could very easily be seen as a vacation masquerading as a business venture for tax reasons. I am sorry if this all seems harsh, but I say it as a long time fan of your content. You are getting this backlash because this whole thing comes across as very tone-deaf to Americans. I want the best for your family, but considering that your target audience is Americans, this is probably the worst possible business move I think you could have made. I am telling you this because I care. Please keep your head up and do your best, hopefully keeping some of the feedback you are receiving in mind.

In 5 months the US has had 255 mass shootings. A lot of us who live here don't attend things we used to enjoy (parades, etc) and limit places we go. The targets for violence are often completely random. In the news just the past couple weeks are a three year old being stabbed to death at a grocery store by a crazy woman and a mass shooting at a playground. I don't think a cross country tour will be fun with the level of violence here. There are massive problems with drug addiction, mental health problems, and sex trafficking. Also you will need health insurance, which can easily be $1000/month or more for a family, plus hundreds to thousands of dollars for medical care even with the insurance coverage.

A year is a long time, and trouble has a way of finding the unprepared! It would be nice if they could find someone trustworthy to travel with them, especially if they spoke Japanese.

You might want to visit Columbus, Ohio or at least research it as a distribution area. There's a "Little Tokyo" of sorts in a shopping mall in the north of the city. There's Tensuke Market which is a Japanese grocery store. Along with the market, there's a ramen shop, lower priced and higher priced sushi restaurants, a Japanese bakery, gift shop and a cultural center all in a shopping area.
If you do decide to come i'd love to meet you. 😀
