Dividends are the most passive form of income out there. And they will help you to compound your money over the years. It just takes time and consistency.
Imma have to lean to crypto being better. A lot of them let you hold/loan out stable coins and generate way more money that compounds either every day, week , month , or year depending on who you're using crypto with.
I do wish there was content on stable coins that pay interest. It literally tracks the dollar and some brokers pay out 8%+ interest per month. Like I get buying a $100 stock with an 8% dividend, cool, $8 a year. But I can also put $1000 in USDC with 8% interest a month, that’s $80 every month, $320 a year. Curious to hear Jaspreet’s thoughts on stable coins 🤔 EDIT: Nah it's not 8% a month, it's annual too :(
@@rosifico If you invest in a qualified dividend stocks, the tax liability can be lower, like 0%, 15% or 20%. But sadly crypto dividends and gains are always taxed as income (the highest). This is the only downside. But even so, it's money that I didn't have to work for, so I don't care.

I appreciate these more realistic videos. It is very discouraging to new investors when everything you see is "We made $2000 this month!!....with a $200,000 portfolio."
I wonder those that believe they can make $500 a day passive income do they also believe there's hundreds of single women in their area just waiting for them 😆😎😆
Let's not forget that in 2020 many dividend stocks stopped their disbursements so that the companies could retain funds to help support their businesses during the economic crisis. And some, like Ford for example, have still not restarted their dividends. That's not to say that those stocks are worthless; in fact when the prices dropped last March, it was a great time to buy in because many of those same stocks were a great value. This is all to simply say that that there may be bumps in stock dividend strategies, but if you understand what's happening, you can weather the storm and come out on top.
As usual, this is great advice. Couple of points worth noting: You will pay federal and state taxes on these annual gains from dividends. It's classified as income. You could be looking at losing 30% if you live in a heavily taxed state. Also, for now, I'd avoid REITs that are heavily involved in commercial properties, because of the work-from-home trends precipitated by Covid. Thousands of businesses are eliminating their offices.
You can always offset some of that ordinary gain by increasing 401k and/or IRA contributions... even better if that dividend is in a Roth. No tax on a Roth dividend
You will be taxed at the same rate if you had worked on a job. So what's the difference? Dividend/crypto doesn't require to to also give up hours of the day or manual labor. It's still cash flow.
A lot of dividends fall into a tax bracket if you own the stock for more than 60 days. REITS dont qualify but most from the energy sector do and right now a lot of gas/oil related companies has a higher dividend yield than REITS. But hurry cause summer is here and those stocks are about to blow up

I’m making a bit over 100€ a month in passive income with P2P lending. At first, much like real estate, it wasn’t passive at all: there were a lot of things to learn regarding how to pick the best companies and loans. With time and learning it became passive though. Now I spend less than 2min a day checking my earnings from the previous day.
I'm loading up on dividend stocks, Verizon and ExxonMobil mainly. Adding Huntington Ingalls too. My goal is to have my vacations/fun trips 2-3x a year paid for by dividends.

REITS are taxed at income levels rather than cap gains so this could be problematic if you earn a lot. Dividends on stock are taxed at 15% for most people.
Dividends suck for non citizens of that country namely non US citizens. European here and I can't compound stocks only get cash and the cash I get, gets slashed by 50% in taxes and fees
I feel it needs to be pointed out that you should pay off debt, especially high interest debt like credit cards, before investing heavily. You will get a better return by paying off $100 on your card and not paying the 10% interest than you will investing $100 in a 4% dividend. This is because most of the best dividend payers don't have the growth prospects and you are not likely to get huge increases in stock price. You will get some appreciateion, just not enough to make up the difference. Unless you plan to try to time the market and consistently buy and sell your shares to capture the gains. Which is far from passive and creates unnecessary risk.
Thank you for explaining the dividends I'm new to trading only been doing it the last year. I thought it was per share not per hundred dollars that makes more sense to be honest thank you love your videos!
Question at 3:17 How can I tell how a company is doing, or get a good idea how? I’m new to the stock market, I don’t know much about it. Any advice helps!
They release financial statements each quarter. Pick an industry, any industry you are familiar with, and learn how to read the statements. Different industries have different costs of capital, acceptable debt levels, business cycles, or are dependant on factors such as the price of a commodity. This is important if you are investing for the long term. Try investing with "fantasy money" in an app that lets you track your portfolio. Btw "where do I find those statements?" Have you seen on webpages of big companies a link in the footer that says "investor relations" click there. Any company that trades in the stock market MUST release those publicly.
For example, a REIT may carry more debt than a services company, because they use the debt to buy property, and thus if they run into problems, they can sell the property.
