All this is very good. But who will determine whether the content of an article, for example, is thin? It’s interesting also why Google Is deciding what the reader considers interesting, and what not interesting. So Google deprives the readers the opportunity to read what the Google considers is of little interest.
I don't agree with what you say. I have an 8 month job. 8 months to finish it and youtube detected it as reused content. You contradict yourselves in your policies. An example is the news channels. they give the news and then another channel gives the same news making minimal changes and nothing creative and youtube has them as the best.

Thanks Matt your advice is always useful and much appreciated. I love how you include subtitles. Now I can get the message without having the sound on. This really is helpful when I want to watch videos while other people in the house are watching TV. Thanks again! I always read your site.
All of my pages are verified on google websmaster and there are no errors. Additionally, the site has almost 50 workout articles. Still they are not approving my adsense account. Really need to know what can I do get the site approved. Also, this video is worthless and waste of time as well as effort. Nothing in my site is applicable for my site. And the biggest flaw"Google Adsence doesn't have a contact number. only google ads has a contact number and they never respond back to feedback or emails.
Thanks for the video sessions that you put together... It always comes back to the basics doesn't it Matt.. Thanks again! Your team does a great job in addressing the issues.
Matt Cutts, serious question: if a home-delivered service indeed offers a similar and high quality service to multiple cities and a Google user in a given city is searching for exactly that ... Why in the world would Google NOT want to bring that business and that user together, when it is EXACTLY what Google searcher wants???? Why do you make it SO HARD for home-delivered small businesses to give people what they want from Google? How does that benefit Google, and how does it benefit its users ???
To sum up the videos in this batch in particular and the rest of the videos in this channel: "If this is a good content that is relevant to real human surfers, we will give it good rating and high visibility in the search results". I can't really understand why bothering with 90% of the questions about good keyword staffing ratio etc'. All you need to say is "is it a good user experience? If it is, we'll give it high rating".
Hi, I got information about a low word count. The website is for our room rental in Zakopane. We are renting rooms in two Willas in the same location. I'm showing most of the rooms because each one is unique at some point but the main part of the descriptions is repeatable. Basic equipment style, furniture, sheets, etc. There is also a shared area: kitchen, lounge, playroom, TV room. Each room has WiFi access and complimentary parking. A few rooms on one floor and a few on the next one. Also, there are reservation system pages for category lists or amenities. I'm afraid I won't be able to write any content here. It looks like I will be able to eliminate several pages from search engines but I like to show each room not hide it? So, any idea what to do?
What does 'cookie cutter stuff' mean? It's obviously an Americanism but not easily understood here in the UK. Matt uses this phrase at 3 times in this video? Thanks in anticipation.
Hello, may I ask what is: Reused Content? Repurposing someone else's content without adding significant original commentary or educational value. Thank You
Matt you give the same answer to every question (if i was a search engine i would give those videos a penalty for duplicate content :D) can we have something new that we don't know please? reveal your secretsss!!!!!
With little or no value gtf out here man if you look up the sites like mapquest what kinda content do they have and still they are approved for the ads to google there is no equal its the other gets approved and ther other not... do you know how many site i saw with no content look even google doesnt have own contents and they are running ads... I always get the same person who always rejects my website even with the content its kinda funny they wait one week then rejects it...
He continues to make videos about it because it continues to be a question commonly asked of him. You're right, this has been a core theme of many of his answers, but I think people have a hard time understanding if their own site classifies as a good user experience (with quality content) or not, so they ask for specific examples. I think the simple answer is "if you're unsure if your content is good quality, you probably have some room for improvement."
well i dont fully agree. the things you are saying everybody does that nowadays, some indeed still rank good, but if you just write much to get to your 3000 word target is completely wrong, its an exact reason for google to give you a penalty as you are not focussing on making quality content, you just try to sum up as much words as possible to get better ranking. it maybe work for a while but its so obvious that adding, for example the videos you add in your blog, has nothing to do with a quality blog, its only meant to improve seo...again, worst you can probably do. my best advice: forget about seo completely. just focus on the things you want to create. if you create unique content you will rank good for sure,
I always thought that phrase was universal. I think its similar to "boiler plate." A product that is mass-produced, using the same form every-time, with no tailoring.
Commissioning some original content to be written on subjects you want to add to your site is a very easy and fast way to dodge any 'thin content' manual actions.
Thanks, American English has taken over the universe quite yet but that's perfectly understandable although I can't think of an exactly similar phrase that we use to denote unoriginal or identical.
Its the same like my experience - to learn "tricks" to bring some content on the first place, is wasting of time. We make SEO in the right way - to develop rich content and present it clear and clean. I enjoy it.
Well, you can target keywords that are good for your language. And considering that competition for non english words are less, You can end up a Winner in less effort and time. ^_^
Stop keyword stuffing 'High Quality Content' in every one of your videos. It makes for a very bad user experience. I get a little angry hearing the same nonsense and feel like filing a spam report. Your keyword stuffed videos offer little to no added value.
sec35--> "a ton of different pages with slightly different keywords": This is seriously considered as a Doorway Page ? I am very confused about that. Let me explain why. Let's say you blog is about Tom&Jerry. You will write lot's of content about the cahracters, the stories, etc. But each page you create ... referring to Matts words --> "a ton of different pages with slightly different keywords" is for all in the sudden considered as a DOORWAY PAGE ? I am really confused and that doesn't make any sense. It's clear, if you have a blog about Tom&Jerry, that you will create many other pages with relevant content to Tom&Jerry. And it's also clear, that your pages will have slightly different Keywords related to Tom&Jerry. Sooooo.. I must totally misunderstand what Matt said in the video... because if you provide more articles, more content, relevant content to your audience, and let's say you are becoming the BIBLE for Tom&Jerry.... your Blog get's removed from the googel-index because your ton of different pages with slightly different keywords are considered as a DOORWAY PAGE ? PLEASE MATT, PLEASE... I would appreciate any further help on this. Best would be to have examples. To be absolute specific about what a DOORWAY PAGE means. It's great that google tries to explain... but the explanation seems to be very broad. More specific, targeted and accurate explanation is needed to clarify that important point. Thank you very much !

It's Funny how Google love taking our money to advertise these so-called "Thin content with little or no added value"

Everyone has different ideas, opinions and views of the world. It cannot ever be one sided and should not be.

My home page clearly has more than 200 words so why am I getting this warning say it only has 23 words.
Cutts' explanation on what he means by thin content id very clear and helpful
would a RUclips Video posted onto a page with a short description be considered thin content?
So a proxy is always "Thin content with little or no added value"?

Thanks for the video, Matt.
what if someone has copied your some or all of your own websites content ??
so what if I what do just do a gaming Chanel ?
I love the simple explanations Matt gives out. I might have to create a website about 'thin content' and see how fat I can make it
Cool info. I especially liked the points about "added value".
Unique content seems to take care of a ton of problems, lol, and it should.

Thin content with little

Very nice 👌

Agreed. Intuitive. Add value, help people. 👍
I agree... But its going to take some 'dollar' if you want to make a big website, right?... ^_^
