Early in the video along the road there was the Giant Golden Chicken ( it looked more like a Rio Grande Valley Road Runner).

Gidday our family farmed pineapples some years ago. The best fruit in the whole field was the one crows had pecked a hole into. The fruit could no longer be sold and it was always the most perfect pineapple, so chopped it up for ourselves and gave it to our friends or relatives.They thought that we knew everything about selecting the best fruit. We never told them the truth.
So nice to see the landscape in the provinces north of Surat Thani. I went that route so many times in 90's by bus to/from Bangkok. It is really beautiful.

Next door to the Indian restaurant is Namaste Restaurant and at the back of that are four rooms. Stayed last year for a few days and loved it, just chilled out on the beach opposite the restaurant and called for food and drink when needed.

I got a really fresh pineapple the other day, my mouth was raw until the next day! Baby powder is your friend...in Thailand. The food looked amazing!!!
instead of powder, I prefer a salve, something that will stay all day, and moisture wont effect. Rawleigh antiseptic salve in yellow can, it really works, while stuff like plain vasoline will only work 2-3 hours tops this will work approx 10 hours.
We stayed at the Dolphin Bay Resort years ago....and yes you are correct lots of families, plus the beds were really hard!

That wasn’t food poisoning, that was eating too spicy! Food poisoning you’d still be in bed 3 days! Trust me I’ve had it a lot! If you’re not near death or praying for it...well it’s not that!
i had some spicy issan food that made me feel sick for a while because of the insane amount of chili
When you have food poisoning in Thailand you really are sick, best thing to do is seen you wife down the street to the drug store for some oral hydration packs and pray you keep up with your losses. In the countless trips I’ve made to Thailand its only happened to me twice.
So cool you guys are having fun. I will go to the Temecula Cheese Company tomorrow afternoon and enjoy a beer and a cheese platter and outside music.
That’s one thing we love about Thailand, seeing kitties everywhere! We had several when we stayed at the Chateau de Khao Yai

Thank you for your work, sir. You act like a decent, respectable human being, and your videos offer great insight into your life and Thailand in general. There are things that worry me though, and that’s how you say you won’t commit to anything. I hope that doesn’t include your wife and her family, because they seem like such good people. Yes I believe that you shouldn’t live your life for the mundane, or for materialistic needs, but loving people who love you, helping good people, and doing things for your loved ones, are what I think define the human existence. Not only that, I think you get just as much joy doing that, as you would in any other activity. All the best to you.

I know where the Namaste restaurant is, a friend stayed at a Spanish style resort a couple of blocks away, very nice place but about 6k baht a night if I remember correctly. You can eat pineapple fresh off the plant but it has to be fully ripened, I made the same mistake as you and couldn’t eat anything salty or spicy for a few days. Thanks for sharing Chuckee, many blessings to you, Paige and family 🙏🏼

Wow, eating a whole pineapple. Now, that I am older and use pineapple to tenderize beef in Texas, I can only imagine how painful it was for you. Most recipes recommend poking a fork all over the beef and then tenderize for an hour in raw (I used crushed in can) pineapple (never more than 1.5 hours). The enzyme breaks down beef and if you eat it fresh it works the same on your mouth. Great video,,, I always enjoy the rides and adventure of your videos. Dallas and Fort Worth Texas are having high CV new cases and it is very odd here,,,never seen Texans wearing masks like this and I have lived here 30 years.

We can find Durian in a number of Oriental grocery stores here in Maryland. However, my wife will
only buy Fresh Durian. What they have to sell is 95% frozen, but the price is still quite expensive considering. I keep my fingers crossed when she is looking for durian.

I watched a couple of SideTripLife's videos on Dolphin Bay and it really looks like an area you could spend 3-4 days at. Scenic, tranquil (assuming you're not stuck near a nightclub or kids), and really interesting.
I watched it yesterday, I wish I knew about that place back in 2016 I would have visited a few days. I showed my wife the video, she said she didn't even know about it. Probably because she left there when she was 15, don't think any of her friends know about it either. Most are from Bangkok or up North.
I'm in Texas (Dallas) so I know all about humidity and "ball soup". LoL

Yes Chuck, there is durian in Tampa Bay. I've been out to the air freight office at Tampa International six times picking up a case of durian that my Thai wife is reselling to her friends (i.e. "The Usual Suspects"). You think it's expensive in Thailand, try Tampa! I feel like a drug dealer selling stuff out of the trunk of my car. Stay well, I enjoy your videos and those of Foreigner Joe.

After reading the comments this morning, I had to go back and watch the video again. Apparently, the wife and I were talking too much last night while watching it the first time. I missed half the story about pineapple. I made a mental note not to ever eat a freshly picked pineapple. I guess that why they always tells to wait till it is ripened first. Oh, almost forgot...since you spoke about baby powder, their is now an advertisement for men's powder for jock itch or for sweaty balls now. I skipped it after 5 seconds, but funny coincidence though.
Yeah, it's the enzymes (bromelain) in the pineapple that will wreak havoc on you.
