    I used to lead my two together. We never had any issues apart from one being forward moving and one being a plod so I'd often end up stretched in two different directions haha. I ended up just letting my forward moving one loose. He just walks slightly ahead of us and goes to where he knows he's going. He's liberty trained so will always stop on a voice command anyway. Only downside is that he'll often spook at something and my lazy one will be like WHAT IS IT? hahaha

      lola burns thankyou, it’s pretty cool huh! We always use a lot of recycled/2nd hand cupboards/shelves/timber/bins... plus it’s finished off with an eBay chandelier lol! The feed bins we’ve had for 5 years & were made locally.

    My horse not only cannot be led with another horse, I will definitely have to dismount for equipment inspection. I am super lazy as regards hay. He gets unlimited access in a slow feeder haynet.

    Could you pretty please make a video on cross country boots? What you need when you start out on the lowest levels and what the different models have in terms of pro's and con's? Good designs, things to look for when buying and in terms of fit to your horse?
    I'm also wondering, for years now watching Australians on youtube, why do you have cotton sheets under the rugs? And why use hoods and tail-protection, I thought that was to keep them clean for competitions? Never seen anyone use hoods in my country, and tail protection only during travelling, so I'm curious. Especially about the rugs, as we try to never use more than 1 rug to prevent rubbing.

    • @amandarosseventingfit6803
      @amandarosseventingfit6803  4 года назад +1

      M B Equestrian haha the mysterious white Australian cotton rug & hood sets!
      These are basically a thin layer against the horses skin, which are washed & changed every 5 or so days. This ensures they always have a clean layer against their skin, & also keep dirt & hair from getting into their top rug. The horses stay cleaner, they’re protected from bugs/scratches/the weather, their tails grow HEAPS better & don’t sun bleach when in a tail bag. I use the Horseware, & Skye Park cotton sets. They need to fit well, & then they don’t rub. I love them. We think it’s weird that other countries don’t use them hahahahaha!

    • @JustHorseyMie
      @JustHorseyMie 4 года назад +1

      @@amandarosseventingfit6803 We don't really have the "sun bleaching" problem here in the north... I only use rugs when it's cold or rain... but then the temperatures and climate is different here.
      Also, Zarzy (or Sassy) is my favourite of your horses, but now I am in love with Ferg....

    i used to lead 4 ponies at a time when i worked in the riding school, they were kept in the same field so got on but it was chaos when one wanted grass and another was dragging you to the field😂😂

    Love love love the vlog! Curious as I've just bought one of the cotton "aussie" sheets from horseware and I know all your guys wear them.... when do you(if you) deem it too hot for them? Love watching the vlogs!

    • @amandarosseventingfit6803
      @amandarosseventingfit6803  4 года назад +4

      Amber Keen good question - lol practically never! Often if it’s too hot for the cotton rugs, the sun then burns their coats if they go nude. Instead I’ll bring them into the stables during the day, & they can he nude under cover instead of nude & outside frying!

    Can I ask about the rugs with the mailbags, are they good, as in do they rub, make them to hot in summer, do you use them all year round. I'm in uk so weather bad at times, wet etc so looking to put under winter rug as well as use in the summer x thank you x

    • @amandarosseventingfit6803
      @amandarosseventingfit6803  4 года назад

      holly Honey it’s called a Portagrazer. They’re not cheap, but they’re extremely well constructed & virtually bulletproof! Diesel absolutely destroys hay bags, including pawing at them & getting his shoes stuck in them! So I invested in a portagrazer & we haven’t had any problems since!

      Lisa James I’m waiting to clip them! They’re usually stabled, but due to the corona restrictions, I haven’t have enough help at home to get all the boxes done, as well as feed, ride, & do all the other things! I’m hoping to clip & stable them ASAP because they’re getting soooooo floooofy!!

    Have you ever tried Equizen Pro? It’s a phenomenal feed and/or paste supplement we just recently discovered for our anxious or spooky horses, works wonders and i believe it’s legal to compete with in eventing (we use it here in the US). Look in to it if you have time. Total game changer and you just add it to whatever supplements they already get.
