I remember my son starting to hookup trailers , moving all the equipment around ...man for years I never had to do anything ...now 20 years later I’m back to hooking up and doing everything for myself ...should have had more kids and spaced them out ...LOL . You’ll be in my boat soon enough .
My 17 year old saw Little Miss workin' on the 66 a few years back and it irritated him...lol. A friend gave him an 84 6.9 diesel and he just got an 88 crew cab solid front axle, 5 speed manual with a bad 7.3 in it. So he's putting the 6.9 turbo (100,000 miles on it) into the crew cab and switching the body panels to make the brick nose into a bull nose. All by himself. 2 or 3 more days and he'll be done. Then we have to have a talk about this Ford business...lol.
There's three things you could do about those ford mirrors. 1 take a Scotch Brite roloc wheel and grind that oval away. 2 Tell everyone that takes a chevy to run a ford down the road. 3 slap some who the heck is Mrheavyshevy stickers over them.
Big Block chevrolet with a turbo or other power adder would be ideal, diesels were not desirable until the EPA made them desirable (other than daily driver towing mileage.)
Ol' Julie looking so fine, just needs a headliner, a paint job, new tires , and I fell ner to the floor laughing at ya. You should of added a full tank of gas all around. Guy I know in Big Lake says to me I found me a mint dodge van one ton with four wheel drive What year... 88...um hm, and its clean don't need a thing? Yeah... yeah yeah it is so fine. So off to the city he heads fifty some miles away. With new tires and wheels... a thousand there and he gets to town and its acting funny so he stops at a box store that sells the best "88 cent" trans oil. He doesn't measure as his excuse is the dipstick thingie is hard to get in!! A man 58 saying "thingie" is upsetting enough. It starts off harmlessly but another twenty miles it goes into coast mode at a stop sign. Now he is calling me frantically saying what should I do? I tell him that northwest auto wrecking is taking them for free right now... I sure hope that pandemic is selective and let JC take a few of the dumb ones and what caused it, it was driving great.... did you put dodge fluid in it??? and I take it that is a no so you killed you own transmission. dip poop for intelligence I saved almost a dollar at ten cent a jug deal as he said it would thin the dirty stuff and make it easier to shift... logical to me now stuff and like mamie, you just pull this thingie out and leave it out... god said it will be fine. I think you pulled the old take their mind off it trick and have silently been working on the 47 so we can do a florida cold start on it together
We use McMaster-Carr at work for all manner of hardware. Bolts, screws, brackets, washers (metal and nylon), nuts (regular, small pattern, nylon, locking, etc.), also any number of other things. Worth checking out - I don't work for them, but I do endorse their selection. If you haven't tried them yet: www.mcmaster.com/ Linda and I send our best to you and your family.
Those camper special 454 Cu In chevy trucks were a failure, given the colossal fuel load they required. I always thought they were too low geared as well. Obviously GM was in collusion with the oil companies when they designed that power plant! If I had one of those trucks it would be sporting a turbo charged Mercedes diesel, or nothing at all.

Its coming.
Perfect cold start view! Thank you for including these. Can never get tired of them, especially with the pedal view!
I've heard that line before..."It ran when I drove it in there..."
A good set of mirrors makes a truck way better !! ENJOYED ..
Scored Some Sweet, Huge Tow Mirrors Today For My 91' Chevy Crew Cab Dually. I Also Have Some Big Blind Spot Mirrors Too. I Need To Get Busy!!
If your doors rust, its not from the holes you drilled in them....its from the name on the mirrors!! Lol! I love the harley!!
The right mirrors can make a big difference
Looks good with those mirrors......visibility for backing up is nice for sure. lol
Very cool having a helper
Always good to see better.

Bob C. Good. At least he is doing something
I am really thinking of converting my 84 crew cab dually to single wheel. Damn things are WIDE.
You ever try those rivnuts? they work great .
Halfass Kustoms I used something similar
hi nice work
I had to change the motor in my passenger side door (2001 Sierra), and it wasn't near as bad as the square body trucks were.
You should call the dually thumper sounds like she's a thumpin pretty good
Turned out pretty good
Great mirrors.. Tough at drive thru's though.

Rivnuts are great.
I suppose the ford emblem was upside down because it's the same mirror as the other side.
Did you brace the mirrors on the door so it doesn’t flex
Dually needs a Cummins swap!!
TheRustyMark if I had a Cummins I would.

Shades of Mr Cutworn.
You guys are just too cool
Sounds like a piston coming to bits.
ZIGgassedUP something in there ain’t happy.
I bet you can find some small, vinyl "bow tie" stickers to cover up that Ford logo on the mirrors. Just sayin....
Mrhevyshevy magnets.
@@bobc.5698, great idea!
That wouldn't make it obvious now would it!! It's supposed to be a secret!
Hows the wiring job coming along?
putting the ford mirrors on the chevy will make it run better
Mr Heavy, blog made Exmoor UK. Cheers
What in-line you have with the turbo on it
