It's like you wrote the thoughts that go through my mind as I watch these covers too. These particular covers have opened my eyes to a new direction I want to go in my covers and trying to get better at singing at the same time.
I've tried it out for an hour. I think it's a genius simple progression of B3, B5, B8, B12, B10, B8 where B is top string 6. And the chorus is D9D9, D7D7, D5D5 where the two D's are string 5 & 4. That's the basic parts. I haven't spent time deciphering the intro or the solo's.
