Hello, Rick From Pennsylvania. I totally enjoy your videos and subscribe to other channels about Mexico and Spanish learning. Last Oct 30th (2018) after doing very extensive (Muy) research (8 months) on Mexico i had decided on a trip to Yucatan, about an hour south of Cancun. Through my apps, yours and other videos the resources I used made my experience just AMAZING. Stayed for 8 days from Halloween and día de los muertos, yes and I did purchase a mariachi outfit, plus did a half sugar skull half tattoos on myself. It was such fun for a guy my age (60) I hope to go again this year and am looking at Merida for maybe a 2 week stay. Live,cook,learn with those awsome Gente mexicano. I great love how you 2 put information together for people to enjoy and learn. I am very seriously considering at the end of 2020 to make a final move to Mx. Much more research to do in my future and you two make learning about mx so much fun and easy to understand about the wonderful people and culture of Mexico. Each retreat is one week long. Each location is a different price, but our next one in Guadalajara is $2,299 which includes most expenses (accommodation, classes, materials, tours, breakfast and lunch each day, and more). Pitty kitty Learning a language is a marathon, not a sprint. A week can do a lot to improve you confidence speaking Spanish with locals and to learn about the history and culture of the places you get to visit. No program can guarantee fluency in a week or even a month. But our program has helped people get to know the real Mexico, and understand language and cultural aspects that can’t be learned in a textbook. Un saludo. -Jim
Good question. While learning takes place throughout the whole retreat, we had about an hour of classroom-style study each day, plus real world practice in addition to that. In the future, there will be closer to two hours of classroom-style lessons each day.
