Hey everyone! We wanted to leave this message here to acknowledge the loud noise/hum in this video's audio. We're unhappy that it may distract from this lesson so we are working on getting this fixed ASAP. Thank you for your patience and for still watching!! 😃
Get a 10 band graphic eq and lower each individual frequencies one by one until you hear no more hum. Most likely its around 3khz the frequency of the hum.
@@johanandre5338 You nailed it... I was thinking not a tonal thing, but RF signal, picked up by as you said by unshielded cable picking up ground hum. The cable has a braided wire around the core. That is the shielding. When guys step on the cables, it can move and/or separate the shielding. Then you get ground hum.
Wow, you just explained the mixing of minor and major pentatonic to me. Everyone talks about it, but now I actually got it. Thanks. Great and simple with examples as it suits us - beginners.
Your content and presentation style are wonderful. You cleanly demonstrate the concepts, theory, and techniques you clearly explain. And you execute those in a patient, humble, and sweet way. You could give master classes on presentations.
Ayla, you hooked me with your perfect rendition of "Since I've Been Loving You" and I'm more impressed with everything I watch you do. You're helping to push me to pick the guitar back up. Thanks.
Seeing this youngin' express passion and emotion playing guitar and revering the classics restores my faith in humanity. I can't wait until she discovers Siamese Dream...speaking of emotional guitar work.
You are my favorite Teacher far above much older people like myself but I have a Rock and Roll Heart.LoL.You are a lot like my daughter and I'm proud of you..You've taught this old dog some new tricks and I truly thanks you very much.
I like the imperfections of leaving the noisy amp sounds in the background, keeping it REAL. This is such a good channel, even when I think I already know what you’re showing, I watch the whole segment and discover something new every time. Thanks!
Ayla, You are amazing to learn from. Your knowledge shared with great technique and presented in such a way that is so calming keeps me coming back to all of your videos. Thanks for sharing your gift with us.
I’m a drummer, and this is the best guitar lecture I have come across. Full of passion for music, absolutely brilliantly explained. Fantastic to hear your technical description of Jonny B Goode (and others) such an underrated song in my opinion. I’ve tried to get several bands to include it in sets and they have been reluctant. Real shame about the earth buzz though, it distracts from your amazing skill.
You are by far the best teacher of electric guitar I have come across on RUclips. Thank you for inspiring me to learn, and for your easy to follow in depth style of teaching.
started to learn the main lick from Oh Well yesterday. Tried to do it a year after I started playing guitar and it was just way too much. Another year later, I'm having a much easier time with it. Progress, baby! :)
@@MusoraOfficial Keeps ya comin' back! I see you read feedback like mine regularly. I hope it doesn't get too old and meaningless due to repetition but I still must say, learning something new sure can be challenging but with your laid back personality and charm, makes it all less intimidating and all seem possible. Another rarity; You actually don't show-off for the first 30 seconds of a video. That drives me crazy. Many times, has nothing to do with lesson. Guy sweeps up and down the neck and the header reads "Adding the blues note". I shall remain nameless. (Tough to do) lol I played back in the early '80's (garage band). My '82 Rich Bich got stolen and my job kinda smashed that. Fast forward...Recently had a crippling, career ending fall from 25ft off a utility pole onto a boulder on a mountain side. So, here I am. Bought some nice new equipment and want to get back in the water. (Sidetracked) I just love the way you share your knowledge. Thanks so much. I'll surely will be following!! PEACE from Philadelphia
Johnny Be Goode and Black Magic Woman are part of my favorites solo. This is so nice and interesting to see Ayla explaining always with a big smile. So pleasant 😀
So glad I found her lessons. That´s exactly what I need and was looking for. It's cool to learn the greatest rock licks and solos, but I'm in a theory improvement. So, it's amazing to learn the music structure rather than play blind. Thank you guys, and thanks to Ayla. The noise is nothing at all.
You gave me that lightbulb moment when you mention as in a Minor pentatonic scale moved up three frets to make the same shape now into the major scale. Nice I really liked that piece of information
Excellent Lesson. Music to me is not a sound it is a feeling. You certainly show that in your beautiful playing. Call and Response plays a huge part of playing guitar. I too have been playing since I was 12. Thank You for your wonderful lesson. Cheers from Guitar-Girl Australia.
So great work. I would love to see yo expand on this. theme. Like a top 30 intros, top 30 solos, then your viewers could vote for the top 5 in each category.
Hi Ayla, as a beginner/improver I have found your presentation and tutorials just brilliant and this is no exception. Very clear, perfectly explained and totally inspiring for me to aim towards. Quick question; would you say that its better to learn these 'intros' (and others in general) unplugged or would you go straight plugged with attempting to dial in the correct amp sound? I use a Strat based electric. Many thanks.
There are certainly quite a few iconic guitar intros, Ayla. You mentioned some of them in your video. To add to those, I was always partial to "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix, "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream, "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, "Day Tripper" by the Beatles, "Heartbreaker" by Led Zeppelin, "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull, "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns & Roses, "Hells Bells" by AC/DC, "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne, "Hotel California" by The Eagles, and "Layla" by Derek and the Dominos. Also, some iconic guitar intros are fairly simple to play, without a lot of blazing notes, but they've become so well known, and they've stood the test of time as some of the most iconic intros in music. Intros such as "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple, or "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones. There are certainly quite a few to choose from.
Yeah Aqualung I forgot about that one, that had locomotive breath on side 2 I think, im going to look it up that was awesome stuff for it's time and in many ways ahead of it's time.
I'm picking the guitar after a 40 year lay off...nearing 70 and really enjoy your teaching me a lot. Now I'm gonna do a doob and get back at it.So glad in I came across your videos
Your guitar playing is just the greatest😀 I especially like Black Magic Woman .I became a fan after watching you play the cover when you were 15 years old.
She's great! Regarding the noise gate comments, I prefer a better power supply such as the Truetone that solves the issue, instead of messing up the sound with a gate which doesn't fix the real issue.
I like all your videos. Im not a good player, but always pick up something from your playing. I have so many vintage rock songs in my collection, but one Id like to put on my phone ringtone is the intro to La Bamba by Richie Valenz. Its a great blend with the bass player
Whoa.. Santana to kick it off.. Layla is likely my own favorite.. and how about Samba Pa Ti.. another Carlois classic.. love your videos.. still learning and you are helping me a ton! Frank from Boulder, Colorado
As always you are an inspiration to music appreciation. You are so amazing and talented at such a young age your knowledge and teaching skills makes me want to learn as much as I can. God has surely given you a most precious and powerful gift. Thank you so much for sharing this ❤
For me since I've been loving you intro was also one of the most iconic of all times. And Ayla your cover of the same was it's best cover I have heard 💜
I have some bilingual Spanish English songs that I do in church -you can’t find on RUclips I picked up on them through the years through various people and some I made up myself. Someday I hope you could hear them and put some icing on the cake for me give them a little more sweetness and a little kick
you don't mind that 60 cycle hum at all, do you? hahaha i play the gov't mule version of soulshine all the time, it's one of my favs. warren haynes is an awesome player
Ayla, you are a great guitarist and a awsum teacher. I agree with the iconic solos in this video. There is a song that is also iconic form back in my younger days, and I hope that you do a video on this one by Santana, Samba Pa Ti
I just had to subscribe. After watching you play the solo to Since I've Been Loving You ( hats off by the way!) and this super informative lesson I'm on board.👍
My current favorite is the opening of AC/DC's version of Baby Please Don't Go, mostly because I'm a beginner & it's basically the minor pentatonic scale, which I practice incessantly...
Is that a red Fender Coronado in the background I see? I used to have a '67 one :-) BTW a really interesting tutorial delivered in a lovely relaxed way - thanks!
Really like your Chanel. Just a recommendation, but a noise gate in your pedal chain would get rid of that noise when your not playing and really clean up your sound. 👍
Hi Ayla, I like the New look ! Great lessons. Please do some videos on tuning. Ad what Amplifier are you using for your videos? Sounds like I hear it humming , or buzzing. Thank you !!! I love you Canadians ! :).
Hi i was watching one of your videos the other day and i cant seem to find it again. it was about song Hey Joe and how we should practice this part of the intro to the song daily for great practice and building our skill. can you tell me which video this was? thanks

Make sure you guitar pickups is grounded, that the guitar is properly shielded and that you got a working guitar cable and amp.

That was the ONE thing that detracted from her clip. She's a very talented player. Feedback/buzz is always a killer.
Ayla is a terrific player and a great teacher.
"Those are actual numbers that I calculated." Honestly, she's just a pleasure to watch.

Ayla, you are such a delightful old soul. At the age of 66 I am getting back into guitar and find your wonderful tutorials so helpful.

That Johnny B good intro...😲. Amazing. Im 44 and Know the same 4 chords for 20 years. Decided its time to get back to playing. You inspire. Thanks!
So young but so mature beyond her years! Love her energy and how articulate she is both in speaking and in her playing. ❤️

Thanks heaps Ayla for this amazing guitar tutorial of iconic intros! I'm really overjoyed and excited while trying to learn these intros! Cheers!
Easily one of your best videos to date, Ayla. Thanks for posting! :-)
Born talented star and beautiful soul
Another fine job, thanks again for showing me how well it all fits together.
Thank you Ayla for playing the intro of Black Magic Woman performed by Santana. II's one of my favorites
from the 60's when I was a teenager.
I love listening to you. You are so calm and take your time explaining everything. So talented too. By the way. Love the green guitar.
I just found this channel. This is great, I like these lessons

How can 18 people possibly dislike this! What kind of people are they?
Exactly!! They don't know their arse from a shite sandwich!!
Probably never heard the tunes she's playing. *Shrug*.
Layla, Derick and the Dominoes.
Great job teaching. You do have a big hum in the audio.

She knows her music history bravo.amazing for one so young.great teacher explaining the theory keep up the good work hats off to you .
Always great to have you break down and explain your appreciation for music.
What's not to love about that?
Ayla you certainly hit us with beauty! Great playing and just so tasteful!
You gave me that lightbulb moment when you mention as in a Minor pentatonic scale moved up three frets to make the same shape now into the major scale. Nice I really liked that piece of information
I struggle with bending strings and you with such delicate hands do it so effortless. Embarrassing. Great video.
I have a soft spot for the intro to Voodoo Chille, 30 years on and the hairs on the back of my neck still rise to that intro.
Still gives me chills! Really good example of why Jimi is still the man.

That was some great info, I thank you!
Hello Ayla .. A really fabulous lesson .. The Tab underneath is really helpful ..love to all Stay safe & Be cool Bye
Clear & Concise tutorial!
Very, very good. Thank you! Liked and subbed.
I like adding Mixolydian pentatonic in addition to major/minor pentatonic. It's almost asking for it because of the dominant chording.
Very nicely done. Thank you
Thank you!! 🙌🏼
Thank you. Very good lesson.
How did you get so talented? You have a real insightful gift … treasure it Ayla … treasure it - great lesson 😊

thank you.. great playing, noise gate please
actually jbg starts on a minor pentatonic note, if we're being pedantic which we clearly are. That grace note needs to be considered and it's a c#.
I was soo waiting for you to be back 😭❤️
"it's so simple" every time I hear that I know I'm in trouble. You have it and I don't
You're a great guitar player. Very knowledgeable.
You amaze me how well you play! 🌸
Oof, great playing, but gotta get a noise gate.
Oof Yeah good point. Thats probably the reason for the very loud noise 🙄..
Yeah, she always has bad 60 cycle hum. Either a noise gate or switch to the humbucker
Right!? What note is that buzz, E and 1/2? 🤣
Just keep the guitar far from the computer could solve the problem of the noise.
noise gates are tone thieves. embrace the hum.

Love the attitude and smiles....
The most Beautiful Sounding and Looking Guitarist today. Ayla All the Time...
Nice! Are you using your index finger to dampen the other strings during bends for the BB King intro?
Dig your vids, thank you. Also setting my ring tone to you saying "Pentatonic".
