DF music gives me the exact same vibes as C418's Minecraft music, in the best way possible. That feeling of wanderlust accompanied by a mellow, melodic soundtrack that melds together with whatever industrious or exploratory activity you're currently focusing on. It's great.
@@daniel5730 Whats funny is I have a playlist of music I listen to while playing Zomboid with friends, which now includes DF tracks, even though I don't play DF.
@@TheIld I love Age of Mythology, but I barely see the similarity. Music of AoM is pretty generic for a strategy game, which isn't a bad thing on it's own, but again...
"Ere the elephants get hungry" Doesn't help that my fort was named Axemurdered...A bad omen? Or perhaps the dwarves naming it similar to Boatmurdered to honor those who fell? Either way, It doesn't bode well for any of us...
This music conveys fear of the future, rumors of necromancers, the living dead, ethereal magic lurks but in the end a heroic reign emerges and the battle begins but not to any victory, just dark rumors and whispers darkened by time that passes by at a rapid pace.
This Song is Great because I now think of it in Two Radically different Situations because of Player Experience. One: Trying to build up a Liveable Settlement in the Deep of Rock before the Winter entombs you. It perfectly encapsulates the Planning Productivity with a Real Tinge of the Actual Danger that failing to manage it will bring all the while still beautifully showing the Real Positive Side of such an Endeavour of trying to build a New Home for this Band of Dwarves. Two: It is Late Winter, you have officially run out of Drink and just desperately wait for Spring to arrive as you see your Fortress' Residents try to scathe off Dehydration, all in vain. Almost as a Gut-punch to the First Situation. This IS the Danger that you are now facing unprepared, the Danger that could very well doom this Expedition and wipe it and its Inhabitants into the Deep and Dark Pits of Memories long forgotten, the Danger that could have been avoided had you managed to adequately prepare in Time.
Did you think your music would take off after df? I've been trying to find my niche too. I'm glad you found yours. You inspire me to keep pushing. When those first vids hit over 3k it was bitter sweet because I don't know why... video game music can outlive the games, the space and environment that can be shown through sound is unlimited. I wonder how often ppl who make music for movies listen to their music even years later. Just on repeat.
Wtf i came here to listen to a music track for a game that used to be free and I ended up spending over $300 to see a Chinese opera called Shun Yun that was in a youtube ad
This soundtrack is great. It's hard to compete with Rimworld's soundtrack, and this one I feel comes close. I from now on will get the urge to listen to two games' soundtracks every so often.
I'm not normally someone who has strong feelings on game soundtracks, but you guys absolutely nailed it with this one. I have multiple of the songs on my spotify playlists. All my mates love "the dwarf song" (Drink & Industry).
Banger.

This track is actually very similar to Project Zomboid track that plays when you wonder in the wild.

you should definitely check out the Age of Mythology ingame music. pretty similar to this

C418 was actually inspired by dwarf fortress
The soundtrack is incredibly beautiful
Bravo to the artists
This sound track just perfectly captures the feel of dwarf fortress.
Past few days i've been instaling diferent sound systems and i put on this song to my clients to show off the sound quality. Great banger, great game.
WELCOME TO BOATMURDERED
HOPE YOU LIKE MIASMA! :D
Let me out. LET ME OUT
OH GODS WHY?!
Watch out for elephants
Dead deaddead dead-dead the dead of death
Strike the earth!
⛰⛏
Smells like Dwarf Fortress.
This really is my favorite song on the ost. I'm so glad it's also the first one you hear when embarking.
This and Strike the Earth are both incredible pieces of music. They both reach capture the mood of the game in was that not many soundtracks can.
It really does nail the vibe. Some dungeon synth also work quite well. Check out Fief and Dim.
2 hours left before we can experience this in game. So looking forward to it

Love the music in this game!
this one reminds me of the music scenes of Zatōichi.. busy, work, the enjoyment at one's craft..
great piece!
SO BEAUTIFUL! THANK YOU FOR PUTTING SONGS IN THIS AWESOME GAME! :D

Wow! I'm really impressed!!! So creative!
The soundtrack is so good for self reflection, thank you for making it like this c:

Truly a beautiful song, I can't wait to hear the rest of it trying to keep my idiots alive.
Amazing!

I can’t wait. So stoked.
3 more long and dreary days...O.o
Age of Mythology vibes from this one
Am I the only one getting some Age of Mythology soundtrack vibes from this song in particular?

What? Wait... are you a dwarf?
Sounds like something a dwarf would do
Looks like you went stark raving mad

Sounds like minecraft ost. Oh, yes minecraft was inspired by dwarf fortress.
do the first three notes remind anyone else of a song from death note
