- In this video I divided a big salmon filet and prepared the filets 3 different ways and cooked them on cedar planks in the Weber Smokefire pellet cooker.
What temp did you run your SmokeFire? All you said was it was “low”… 🤔
Fair question. I usually smoke salmon between 200-225, I’m sure this cook was no different. Sorry for being nebulous…I am a rookie at the YT thing…but I’m having fun! Thanks for watching.
I know I'm watching an older vid here, but do the cedar planks add anything to the equation here? I've got some cedar planks for my pellet grill/smoker that I haven't tried yet and was wondering if they actually impart any flavor or should I just smoke directly on the grates?
great question and I would say they do but not a great amount. also very possible I did not use them in the best manner. I have only used them a couple of times other than this video. But I do like having something between fish and the grates…particularly salmon so the cedar planks serve that purpose and can be disposed of with no cleaning…which isn’t bad either.
