Maybe I'm just overthinking it but I really love how in the Old opening Luffy runs more thrilled with faster footsteps while in the New opening he runs more calmly. It's like he started out excited to begin his new adventure and now feeling comfortable and enjoying his time with the complete crew.

I swear this is the song that needs to play for the epilogue. The final scene of the series should be the narrator proclaiming "Wealth. Fame. Power. Monkey D Luffy, the king of the pirates obtained this and everything else the world has to offer." Etc.

I think it would be a good plot twist once luffy reaches the one piece he finds he doesn’t need the one piece to become pirate king and that there was some deeper meaning (not the friends we made along the way ending tho)

I don't even watch the show and I can almost feel how special this truly is.

I don't follow the anime too, but i still follow the manga. Even tho the animation has better quality, but i Love the old animation pace. It's so fast, it's often when the crew has conversation there is also something happened in the background. Now the pace a bit drag due to the anime really close to the manga.

Enjoy the ride. You can fast track it a little bit without losing anything if you lookup which episodes are filler. The filler episodes I hate the most are the ones made to tie into an upcoming movie that are inserted in the middle of an arc just to promote a movie. It is usually only two episodes but it’s so frustrating when you’re caught up and just want to watch the next episode of an arc and not a bullshit out of place promo episode designed to get you to watch a movie that won’t even be available in the west for up to a year afterwards.

Splitting the screen between those shots to fit in more members is fine if they got the speed right. They can totally do multiple characters and split it in a slower, more natural pace. Instead, it just looks super rushed and clunky. Other than that, the OP is a great call back for the fans. It's awesome!

I love this new version of the opening so much, but one very tiny thing that pisses me off way more than it should is the fact that the shot at 1:37 no longer has the really smooth transition from Luffy to Shanks, and is instead randomly interrupted by a completely unnecessary flashback shot.

It feels more natural in the remake to do that since we're now seeing Shank's and the Red Hair Pirates' updated designs after the transition. The old one worked since we only ever saw Shanks and his crew in the flashbacks.

That seagull along with the final trumpet note is just beautiful. I was hooked on the series the first time I saw it. Something about the journey and adventure is a symbol for the bird, it just fits perfectly, not just into the theme, but the message and overall story of the show itself. Such a cool and chill anime
I started maybe 5 years ago, kept watching until episode 204, got bored, then just recently my friend started talking about it and I remembered. Watched an episode, then another, then another, then by the end of the week I had gotten to Thriller Bark. Crazy how many episodes I’ve watched recently. I’ll probably get bored in a few hundred episodes and I’ll come back to it in a few years, but the beauty of it is that I know it will bring me back without fail. This comparison is proof of how great it is One Piece has stayed consistent to it's early beggining all the way through. I can't think of any other anime who has been this awesome and this consistent the entire saga.

Here is something that 90% of u didnt notice, at 2:25 they will show enemies and black beard is at the end of those images, on the old it is Barate (Sanji fight) so after that there was no major fights, so here we will see Luffy black beard fight very sooner than expected !!!
AND from 1:30 they will show Allies! and in the old video they will show allies only, here even though Buggy and Alvida were enemies in the old song, but according to the new flow in end they can be allies of Luffy as well in future!!

Two yonkos, Buggy and Kaido
I've always wanted to watch this anime since I saw a couple censored episodes on cable when I was a kid and now at 21 years old I can finally watch the entire anime in English on Crunchyroll and I'm in love with it! seriously, I've seen 151 anime so far and One Piece has skyrocketed to one of my top favorites in a matter of like 5 episodes. I'm currently watching Nami deal with Arlong and I'm HYPE! This anime is SO FUN, I was surprised when I realized I'm like 30 something episodes in ALREADY. I can't wait to catch up and watch the Gear 5 episode!

I really love, and I mean REALLY love where at the start of the opening, it was a small screen ratio, then it slowly expanded to the current ratio we have today. Truly the greatest pirate era in the world.

@@duncan3998 im from malaysia. Before 2006, no tv channels shows one piece anime. So when technology become more advanced, we just download it from internet without waiting for tv to show the anime. That's why malaysian start watching one piece anime quite late 😅

There’s something different about the old one which makes it better. And no, it’s not about nostalgia. I’m not sure how to describe it, the flow? The animation was so smooth in a way that’s hard to explain. I really like it more in the old one although I like the new one too.

Nowadays great animation in anime are mostly lower than the usual 24 frames but has alot of smears (basically the inbetweens of movements) and can look very fluid. Reason why the old one feels "smooth" to you is because the animation had more than 24 frames but had little to no smears
The old one had better animation and timing. A lot of cool background animation, too. The new one cuts too often and tries to squeeze too much in, so that ruins some of its flow. Also, personal opinion, but I prefer the old art style.
