Momoe Yamaguchi is my most favorite Japanese singer . I love her songs. I enjoyed many of her songs in my 30s. She was a legend singer played in peak time of Japanese economy. I really love her as Korean. I still enjoy her songs sonetimes recalling my young days.
I recognize a lot of those people in the video who made a cameo in this performance of Momoe's song. First is Sakurada Junko (桜田淳子) and fifth is Mori Masako (森昌子). These two are especially notable, because Junko, Masako, and Momoe all rose to stardom at roughly the same time, so the media saw them as a group of sorts. The second person I'm not 100% sure who she is, but she might be Koyanagi Rumiko (小柳ルミ子) who was a popular artist at the time. The third person is Judy Ongg, a taiwanese singer who had a big string of hits in Japan at the time and definitely worth checking out. The fourth is Iwasaki Hiromi (岩崎宏美) who is one of the biggest singers of that time and continues her career as a big star even today. I recommend you check out Hiromi's music, she's phenomenal. Also, it is of note that Momoe is Akina's favourite singer and idol. Singing one of Momoe's songs (夢先案内人) on the talent program Star Tanjo is what earned Akina her first record label and launched her career as a singer.
