I'm dark skinned and i would truly rather an artist tell me something wouldn't work for my skin tone. Bae was respectful in her delivery and everything.
I think Bae should have suggested white. I've seen neon white tattoos on dark skin and it was beautiful.

Bae was absolutely correct telling the client about the color. The client other tattoos look horrible and just a bunch of ink. I am a brown/darker skinned woman and different color of ink don't work well on my skin either.
Agreed! I am dark skinned and I appreciate my artist being very up front with me about what will and will not work on my skin tone. I’d rather have beautiful, readable art on my skin that just a bunch of black blobs because my artist was trying to placate me rather than speak to me from his area of expertise.
I also agree! Please don’t give me what I’m asking for if you feel like I need some additional info about what I’m asking. I remember social media giving backlash for this interaction. They shot the messenger instead of blaming the industry for not creating pigmented ink for MELANATED/POC skin! I think people may have been triggered that 4 fair complexions were trying to explain this to a deeper complected woman.

I see why the girls client had a bad experience. She sat there through alla that. Two girls left and didn’t want to tattoo her. Krystel said she didn’t want to do it at all. I would definitely feel like it’s because I’m dark skinned and feel uncomfortable about the tattoo experience

Finally someone said it correctly. It was unprofessional, it was tacky and classless. Caesar should have checked that s*** at the door. I checked how all non black women of color. Was running out the door. Because they didn't feel like they're brand would be represented on her skin.🤡

I like the fact that Bae told that client that full colour is very difficult on dark skin, which I can understand makes sense. The natural melanin sits like a filter on the tattoo ink and makes it less visible. The darker the melanin, the harder it is for colour to penetrate through the skin. Imagine trying to put yellow or a pastel in very dark skin - almost impossible for the yellow to show up in full strength. I do understand the frustration from the client, like some tattoo artists are straight dickheads & complain about how much they dislike tattooing darker skin, but Bae was respectful and honest and I like that. You need to be honest about something that will stay on me forever.
Bae shouldn't put her 3 cent on this client. Thier picky when you change it they might not like it. Should of just do what the client wanted. No problem no drama.

My first tattoo I wanted color but my tattoo artist explained to me respectfully that the color wouldn’t last because of my skin tone. I took his advice, since he was the professional and I’m glad I did because my tattoo came out really nice.

I love Tatti’s growth in the show. She went from being another one of Teddy’s pattern to actually being professional and working to get her money. She’s also a personal fitness trainer and does brows on her own time YALL. She really grew and I love it❤

It really pissed me off, they tried to say Bae was racist for what she said. Because I'm lighter than the woman here, I was told the same about one of my tats. Yellow was the color, I was told it may not show as great....and if I did get the color there was a possibility I would have to keep getting it shaded.
She wasn't racist but don't blame the canvas for your lack of experience. My dark gf has had colored ink forever and has not had to touch it up because she went to the right artist. Mind you her artist is a yt woman but she took the time to learn how to tattoo real dark skin.

I have went to tattoo places and was told certain colors wouldn't blend in right with my skin. I always tell them "whatever colors they feel will look right, go ahead" I never got offended because I rather my tat look beautiful then horrible

My husband has the skill of tattooing & I’ve heard him mention exactly what bae said. That’s professionalism for you. I would absolutely trust bae’s suggestions because her work is dope & she knows exactly what she’s talking about. The point of being tattooed, the point of having art on your body, is longevity purposes. Overall, after you’ve made the customer aware of these things & they still choose to go against it? Bet. Your skin. That’s something you have to wake to everyday.

Dark skin can get color. You just have to make sure you go to an artist that tattoos dark skin and knows their color wheel.

It takes people who have experience in tattooing bright colors on darker skin tones to do such a colorful tattoo. Bae was right by letting the client know that the tattoo she’s giving will not be as colorful or the colors she wants will fade due to her melanin. Bae does great tattoos and she probably knows better artists who can do that exact tattoo; she should have referred her to an artist who knows how do colorful tattoos on darker skin. Bae made it seem like it wasn’t possible. Even though there aren’t that many artists who know how to do those types of tattoos, she probably could have found on just to show customers that they are there for them.

I can barely make out what her other tattoos are on her body. With a darker skin complexion, this can happen when it comes to colors. They can show up when you first get them but will fade pretty quickly. I have really bright tattoos on my back and when I went back to get something else added. My Artist was shocked the color hadn’t faded after a year. Said certain colors fade out on brown to darker tones. Hell, my brother is dark skinned and he is tatt’d! He doesn’t give a damn if you can see them or not . 😂
