      where is drama in that?
in truth while he was away his kingship is weaken with long absent. because of that some starts to challenge the power by attempt to marrying / mocking Penelope. And of course this must be retaliate by blood

He returned alone, without the loyal soldiers that followed him off to war, with his house full of men looking to usurp him. It would have been suicide to just announce himself in front of his enemies.

A kings power was not absolute, that’s modern Hollywood. In reality a kings power came from his skill, his personal military and the oaths of those sworn to him with their own power. When Odysseus returned home, his power would have been fragile and he would have had to contend with political opponents whose power (military and public perception) had grown to rival his own. Rather than return and have to deal with the political fallout and probable civil war, he is able to trap these men and eliminate them. Securing his power and removing his enemies.

Yes, there were Black people in ancient Greece, though they were not a large or dominant population. Some individuals of African descent, particularly from regions like Egypt and Nubia (modern-day Sudan), were present in Greece, especially in larger cities like Athens. These individuals were often involved in trade, diplomacy, or as slaves, soldiers, or mercenaries.
Historical and artistic evidence shows that Black people were depicted in Greek art and literature. For example, the Greeks had contact with African civilizations, such as Egypt, and some Greek scholars, like Herodotus, wrote about African peoples. Additionally, there are instances of African individuals in Greek society, such as the renowned general and diplomat, Memnon of Ethiopia, and other figures mentioned in ancient texts.
While they were not the majority in ancient Greek society, their presence was acknowledged and integrated in various aspects of Greek culture and history.
