REAL, PRACTICAL instructions that actually worked for me. I followed the instructions on StackExchange and even the official documents, and all they did was waffle around without getting to the point, and when I managed to decipher what they were asking me to do... ta-dah! It wouldn't work. They had omitted the need to key in the port number. I watched this video just once, and then tried out exactly what you did, and BOOM. Problem solved.
HI Tony, The way you give the presentation is awsome. Thank you so very much. Can you make a video, on how to make such video..The zoom effect in between and how you placed yourself on left which application you are using. This will help many bloggers. Thanks in advance.
What a great explanation. I do have a question, how can we automate this, i mean enter the password inline without intervention. If we have a way to do that, Please let me know. Thanks.
Great video. Nice and clear. I need to transfer files from my local machine to a webserver on (Oracle VM) using TeamViewer. Is the process the same? Newbie here.. lol
Thanks for the video, I'm getting "FATAL ERROR: Connection timed out" when trying to copy files from a Windows 10 machine to a Kali even though they are all on the same network and can ping both machines
This is not technically related to the content of the video but the outro is wayyy louder than the rest of the video, kinda jarring. Anyways, thanks for the video and all the comment responses, really helped me out.
Great video mate. What if I want to copy a group of files based on their properties; say all files created in the last 6 months, or all files created by 'XYZ'?
This is at least possible with the underlying scp command, but I'm not 100% sure about pscp. Give it a try though. Same syntax. pscp user@servera:/root/file.txt user@serverb:/root/
I am assuming for passwordless connection, you create the account on the linux/destination server and from the origin server (Windows in this case), yoiu use puttygen to create the key pair and give the public key to the linux server under the /home/root/.ssh folder and in a file called authorized_keys right?
hello Tony, im new in computer science field and I got a silly question here. When you copy the IP for file transfer, the IP address there is an external or internal IP? is it static or ephemeral IP? Is it private or public IP address? I got confused by the IP categories here, already read and watched some videos and still don't understand. Hope you can briefly explain it to me to clear my confusion. Thanks in advance.
Thank you! This is a very helpful video! But I have a question though If the remove server is the Windows, what is the syntax? the same but the opposite? "Vultr@: /root/Desktop/a-file.txt." ?
You typically want to execute the pscp command from your local computer. If you want to copy a file to remote: /root/Desktop/a-file.txt Vultr@: If you want to copy a file from remote: Vultr@: /root/Desktop/a-file.txt
Man this is gold. Exactly what I was looking for and I was struggling so hard at other sources.

Can we run this in multi sessions ? pscp connections from windows
Hi tony Great video
please what will be the syntax to upload a directory with its sub folders?
The best thing to do is zip or tar the directory into an archive, then pscp it to the destination
Thank you veeeery much!!!:)
No problem 😊

Hello Tony,
Thanks for the video. I want to confirm if we can create a script to a backup data from remote server to One-drive folder?
Not sure about One-drive
@@TonyTeachesTech Thanks for your response. I was able to do so via batch script :)
I was getting the error "FATAL ERROR: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey)". What should I install additionally?
love it . But wana ask if it can be made in a way that you type in the password on the same line of code so it won't prompt for pasword. thanks
Hi, thanks for your explanation , i have a little question, how about if we want to copy a folder , not a file ? is it possible using pscp ?
You'll want to archive the folder first with zip or tar and then do the pscp copy

Hi sir, i have a jar file placed in server, i want to save that file to my windows.. m following steps but it says no access.. can u pls help
What would be the command to send a file to a remote server if you are using key pair for Authentication?
Can you copy whole folders using pscp?
when i try to do this for a folder/directory, it doesnt happen? is there something else to add on when we're trying to copy an entire folder?
How to copy a folder or more than one file? And how to script it or schedule it?
can you tell me how to transfer the data of entire directory or a folder ?
You're best bet is to compress the directory into a zip or tar file, then do the transfer. An alternate is to use rsync
@@TonyTeachesTech thanks mate!
How does this differ from using an FTP client like FileZilla using SFTP?
Hi can we pause and Resume file transfer using this ?if possible how to do that. Could you please help me with this.
