Lauren! It sounds to me that American likely overbooked the flight and s hoping for a few cancellations so that they would not have to refund tickets. Rather than fight the airline, I suggest that you dispute the charge on your card (if it's American Express, even better - they are very much pro-customer) and let them fight your battle for you.
Aside from that, this was a wonderful vlog and you are the best friend ever! 💕

Hey Lauren! I wanted to let you know that the whole rule about when you have to be there for your flight is definitely not a thing. They probably just did that cause they oversold the flight and didn’t want to deal with giving you a refund so they made something up.

Sorry about all the airline/plane stress. I fly American from Detroit to Phoenix/Tucson and don't usually have issues except for weatherr delays. I do fly from a bigger airport and usually, check a bag so I have to get to the airport 1.5 to 2 hours early in order to be at the gate on time for boarding. That is so crazy how they wouldn't let you get on the flight even though the plane hadn't left the gate yet and it wasn't just you either which is even crazier.

Girrrllll, I had THE WORST experience with American Airlines too! Their customer service is NON existent! I could never write a review or file a complaint either! How do they get away with it? I have boycotted them forever. Not okay! I’m sorry you went through that. I try to get Frontier or Delta if I can. Looks like the rest of the trip was a huge success! ♥️ Oh and sweet Will too, what a champ driving back and forth with you!

girl ik the struggle on that airport. idk you are talking about the montgomery airport i understand your struggle. that’s literally the only airport my dad uses and just flys to atlanta to get to our bigger flights. i will say security is always a breeze bc it’s so small. literally in and out that’s the only plus.

That’s so weird you had such an issue with American. I flew to Arizona via American back in March. We were late to check in and got to our gate mid boarding and we were still allowed to get on. Must be that specific airport that made up their own rules. I hope you get your refund. Loved the video! Arizona is an awesome place.
