I have watched a lot of people painting flowers and you are the best teaching to paint and explaining how thank you, from Roger Australia 🇦🇺 I’m 83 years old 👴🏻🌸
Wow! A fan from Australia. You're never too old to give painting a try. My oldest student is about to turn 90 years young. Thank you for watching. from April California, USA
wonderful instruction, thank you so much! I am 74 yrs old and have painted all my life but now I see what to do. It is very exciting! I will recommend you to my daughter in law who is just starting to take an interest in decoration.
Thank you. Most of my students do say my classes are very therapeutic. Like painting, I find it very therapeutic. Cheaper than seeing a psychologist. Maybe you'll give painting a try. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for doing this! I am new to painting and have been struggling with simple brush strokes. I've watched alot of videos and yours is the one that gives the reason, the how to and the confidence to try again. Thank you so much.
I've watched a ton of one-stroke painting videos, but YOU are the best...so calm & relaxed & excellent easy to understand instructions....you're a born teacher
Your detail and being mindful of beginners is beyond appreciated! I really like how you explain clearly, slowly, point out everything each detail, just AMAZING your patience in teaching. Thank you kindly, you are SO MUCH APPRECIATED God Bless
The best painted tulip, that i have seen in a long time. As an artist myself, I am hoping to learn this technique so that I can paint tulips on my kitchen cabinets.
I can't even tell you how much I appreciate your calm voice, calm style, and calm teaching. When someone shows me too fast, I can rewind, but THE VOICE, THE EXPLANATION, makes all the difference. Its been a while since you have uploaded a video. I hope you are well and return to posting videos.
Thank you so much for your kind message. It's been a while since I uploaded a video. Just busy teaching classes. Hope to do more soon. Thank you again for watching.
You made this so simple April. I've been painting all twelve of the Tulip varieties since watching your U Tube lesson on the Simple Tulip. You inspired me. Flip leaves and all.
Loved the way you taught this. You showed simply how to mix the paint and slowly how to make the strokes and change up. I am just starting to paint on wine glasses and ect. and doing what I can do but this was really a great teaching tool. Thank you for sharing. ;
Your instructions are pretty clear. I think if I have my bottle or paper as I'm watching and make the moves as you make yours, I can pull this off. Thanks for sharing your tips
How Wonderful it was to watch & Listen too you give instructions. It was fait, LOL. But really, I just bought my first canvas yesterday.🌄. And now I know exactly WHO MY Knew Friend and Instructor is.🚞. Thank You, For Being You🌻
I have been trying to figure out how to paint flowers for some time now. I discovered you today and am in Awww. Your patients and soothing voice while explaining your stokes is fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
This is the best one stroke tulip I've seen! I have dozens of Donna Dewberry books, wipe off teaching guides & videos. I've watched hundreds of RUclips videos. I even took a one stroke class at Michael's. You are by far the best at teaching this style of painting! You take your time and explain it so every beginning can understand it! THANK YOU! (watched your one stroke daisy first, I've tried for years to do the petals with a flat brush, I think I can do it now!) Your work is beautiful too! ;)
April Numamoto I agree with Debbie. Often, maybe because of time constraints, I watch Donna do some paintings on her DVDs that at best aren't impressive and are at times down right sloppy. As I said before, I really like your calm voice and detailed explanations. If I had a choice between having you or Donna for my teacher and the author of my painting tutorials, I would pick you every time. Thanks for being there for us.
You are a talented teacher! Thank you so much for the time you've spent in making videos. I have learned so much in watching and then trying your techniques.
Thanks for watching. You can look up Donna Dewberry who is the creator of the technique. It's a great technique if you're new to painting. Thanks again!
You make it look so easy you are fantastic the best teacher ever I wish you would have had a teacher like you when I was younger such a beautiful painting in my daughter's getting better and better all the time Peggy . She enjoys going to your classes my mother was artistic she used to make artificial planters her Main thing she like to make the most was Ming trees and then get those little pieces of you know Bridges and little little figurines and make a story out of it people walking on the bridge .
Hi April, I am a self taught artist for many years, and this tip on the Rose, has helped me so much, Thank you !! Please keep doing more videos. Can you do one with Butterflies? They really help!!
Hi April, I really want to thank you for all of your wonderful videos. They have helped me so much and I really appreciate it!! You are a wonderful teacher and you are so patient and kind with your instructions. Thank you, again.
I do have one question, April. I tried to follow your Plumeria video today. What I have the most problem, believe it or not, is loading my brush. No matter how I try I always "muddy" my colors. I will load white in one corner and burgundy in the other but no matter what I do, I never can keep the white from blending in with the other color. It truly is driving me nuts...lol..! What am I doing wrong....?
+Johanna Kohn There are couple of reasons why your colors are mudding. Check and make sure it's not any of these reasons. If it isn't, letm. 1. when picking up the paint on the corners of your brush, make sure the colors are not running into each other. 2. when blending your colors make sure you go right on top of the same colors as you blend. 3. Make sure you're not picking up too much of the medium. Too much of the medium with cause the colors to mix together. 4. There's not water in the brush when loading the brush. Most likely it's one of these reasons. Hope that helps. Thanks!
+April Numamoto Thank you, so much, April!!! I so appreciate the time that you take on your videos and to answer our questions!!! I will check everything that I am doing against your list of suggestions. Thank you, again!! Blessings...
Thank u for these great tutorials... I am trying to learn this kind of painting and not easy to find teachers where I live so these grT tuts help... Hope to see many more
Thank you for this video tutorial. You are an excellent teacher!! You explain & physicality demonstrate the technique at the absolute perfect pace. Also I thoroughly appreciate the technical words you use & repeat each & every time. I so need the reinforcement & visual for various reasons. Use to me a technical trainer and successfully used the same methodology with folks. Again, thank you! God Bless
Thank you so much for your message. I also need reinforcement and visuals when I'm learning something new. I know it works. Thanks again for watching and God Bless.
Very nice, April. I paint with acrylics and watercolor but not one stroke.I surely did enjoy your technique and thought it was beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
April... You are such a GREAT teacher!! I'm going to TRY painting as my next craft endeavor and make it look so easy. Your deliberate slow techniques are easy to follow. Your explanations are very informative. I especially like that you have paint all over your hands! A true sign of "doer", not just a "show-er" LOL. Love your work.
Hi April, it's so good to see you are still painting! You probably don't remember me but I used to came to your house to learn to paint. I still have the first project you helped me with-flowers in a garden with a white picket fence. Thanks for your expertise! It was really fun!
+Marilyn Keddy The technique was developed by Donna Dewberry. I'ts a great technique for beginners and for anyone who always wanted to learn to paint. Hope you give it a try.
You make it look so easy, but I'm not sure I have the confidence to do it, though no doubt I have more than enough supplies to do several hundred acrylic paintings. My thing is to paint on fabric items I sell to others that are interested. This looks almost easy enough to put on the front of a customers gardening apron! Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial and God Bless!
The best teacher I've seen. Subscribed immediately! I can actually SEE everything you're doing. As others have said, better than Donna, which I find strange, since she says she is trying to teach all of us. I think she wants sales more than she actually wants us to learn. Great camera angles, nice and slow, I just can't thank you enough.
Linda Beebe You're welcome Linda. Thank you for your message. I have a wonderful camera man, my hubby who is very supportive. Thank you again for watching.
Yes, give the tulips a try. It's very easy, one stroke at a time. Thanks for watching. Look at my " Painting grapes for Karen N" on U Tube. That's an easy one too.
I love how you explain what you are doing very slowly as you do it. It give me time to actually understand what’s happening. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for watching. Happy holidays!
