    I grew up in Santa Paula California and discovered 20 years ago that I am Chumash/ Mexican American and I'm happy and honored to be both of these races.

    Thank you so much, i'm also a decent from the Chumash people. I was born in Washington right next to the sound. All of the elders in my family were born in Santa Barbara. This story made me cry and be happy. I have always wished to know more about my culture. Thank you so much again. God bless.

    Im a teacher in Oxnard and my school is directly next to the Santa Clara River. My school is doing its best to go back - to preserve and honor the history of this area, as well as the Chumash people.
    Indigenous knowledge is the way and we lost sight of how to live in harmony. We are doing our best to go BACK.

    Thank you for sharing this important history . I am only in Carpinteria for 10 years and today first time experienced the painted cave energy up on the mountain . I always ask permission from Chumash spirits respectfully to be here on this land as a mother every step I walk with my sons . So much to learn 🙏

      Wow the word limuw is pronounced the same as we say limu in kanaka maoli which is native Hawaiian. In Hawaiian limu is the edible seaweed we find in the sea on the coast lines which we eat still eat to this day and I’ve ran into studies about the very and I mean very similar bone fishing hooks that both the Chumash and Hawaiians used. Crazy

    I archived a 5 part video series from youtube on the stolen history of the Chumash! My copy burned up in the so-called "Camp Fire" four years ago. I have been searching everywhere for a copy.
    It was about the Chumash working with the surveyors and messing up the surveys so the city started out all crooked. It talked about the Sorcerers and a mirror placed up in some rocks that shown down main street. Lots of whites went insane and had to be put in asylums. Young Chumash men walking around preaching love to the whites,
    It also claimed that the Chumash were the bards of Turtle Island and the great men of tribes all over the Americas were sent there to relate their knowledge to these keepers of the wisdom.
    Does anyone know where I can find this 5 past video series?

    I'm asking a question of concern. Is the Oceano or Coastiano Indians same as the Chumash? My son in law's grandmother was a Coastiano Indian lived along the coast in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. He say's he's a Coastiano. He says he remembers stories of her telling him when he was a little boy about her having her babies in the water. And he remembers her sitting in the sun for hours getting the sun. So are they also Chumash or is that yet another tribe?

    • @ecojusticeradio

      They are definitely a separate band of Chumash, called Coastal Band of the Chumash Nation.

      That's what I've observed. Remember they called the island Limu, which sounds very similar to the sunken continent of Lemuria. I believe all the islands that remain are remnants of Lemuria.

      There word limuw is pronounced the same as our word limu in Hawaiian which is the edible seaweed found in the sea we eat till this day and upon further study there bone fishing hooks are strikingly similar to those of us Polynesians and mostly similar to that of Hawaiians.

    For Chumash, ocean area of Santa Barbara or any other Tribal locations not near the Santa Ynez Band, there is nothing but going to the medical location there!!! It is unfair the Santa Ynez Band receives so much income monthly!!!! Work on sharing what you are given with ALL Chumash family in California. I know many Brothers and Sisters that you have upset.

    • @franniebayne6470
      @franniebayne6470 7 лет назад +4

      Your words "gringa" are not the Tribal language. So let me guess, your only have a tiny bit of the blood, so you have no right to speak either! At least I care, you don't! Sad gangster

    • @franniebayne6470
      @franniebayne6470 7 лет назад +4

      Kickative truth With the words you speak, I hear no respect for your people. I NEVER said anything bad. Even tho you hear it that way. It was only to you if I did, because your words are shameful. I have many Brothers & Sisters who receive only the health care on the SY area. This is very sad they are not included with the rich Tribal members there. I have lived on Chumash land all my life and continue to Thank them and invite them all to their land, I don't own it, I just care for it, since so many have stolen it from you. Now the horrible SB County pulling so many horrible things against the SY Tribe regarding the Code 4 land that was 'sold' back to them by Mr PARKER. It should have been given back, not sold. See I'm not a bad person, I try to help as a Thank you for being allowed to live on THIER land for 60 years. Don't say bad wording, it's not who you are! You are a strong human that can fight for your family!! Asho shikisho
