You aren't? That's strange...of course, maybe the problem is the "ideas"
you are referring to do not employ words with a meaning that is consistent
with those words and meanings used in your institution.
One might ask why are you there in the first place?

@@tylerblue9691 If that is true, wouldn't our professor have done
so for the same reason? And having done that, also engaged in
teaching the same things for the same reasons? Of course, if he didn't
do that, then the claim that the things taught at higher educational
institutions would no longer be true, as he himself, would have proven that
      claim false.
If he didn't, one might have reason to question both his integrity and
courage, since he clearly would have demonstrated that he failed to
abide by his own beliefs. And he also had tenure, which would make
      that choice even more questionable.

I've felt the decline since 2008. Never recovered from that crisis. I graduated from college in 2009 and every employer who was hiring demanded an internship to demonstrate experience. After a year of trying to break into my field I gave up and went to grad school. After my master's I couldn't find anything in my field again so went and did a PhD. After my PhD I finally got the job I had hoped to get after my bachelor's, but the salary isn't livable. I literally do nothing but eat, sleep, work, commute, and pay rent. It's a miserable existence and I feel absolutely no hope that I will ever find a better life. It should be fun to try to dedicate my life to student loan repayment, especially since they threw my federal loans into collections DURING my PhD!

I was in highschool in Chicago during the 2007/08 crisis. It was traumatic. I had teachers crying in class because they were getting let go. The German teacher who taught my then boyfriend had to go. Then funding to the school itself was somehow in jeopardy. So they rounded up all the kids doing poorly (me included) and had us CHEAT on some standardized tests so that our school could get money. Meanwhile at home my stepfather lost his job at IBM and never got a job that good again. We moved to Nebraska in 2010 because he couldn't find work in Illinois. Yea I'd agree that life hasn't been the same since 2008.

I was 38 when the banks sunk the economy. It's always the big money that causes this, always. Capitalism is just one crisis after another. Not sure where this downward spiral leads to or ends. I've given up on any hope for the life my parents enjoyed. Workers need to unite. Think about how they keep trying to divide us by race, white and blue collar, sex, gender, religious, and anything else they can come up with. I just laugh when someone mentions my white privilege. Really? My grandfather's maybe had that. Life's hard and it's about to get worse I think. Blaming your peers won't solve a damn thing. We have to stick together or it will be even worse.

Some group of economists have projected that both the U.S and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2023. A global recession, define as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because china and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

Check out the website and even just read the first page, it's very similar to what Richard talks about with democracy at work and using cooperatives to our advantage. The means of production goes to the people, the fruits of our labor is shared, sustainably, and all profits are also shared equally. The difference is in this strategy, each person's 3-hour a week contribution to a community project is valued the same. We all do better, when we all do better.

Every defense of Marxism is based 100% on logical fallacies. First of all, socialism is framed by the mantra "property is theft". At least they made their arguments without blatant attempts at gaslighting. Marxism is pseudoscientific socialism. Dogmatic socialism. Nothing but easily refused dogmatic circular reasoning. There's also a difference between "hands off" capitalism and "authoritarianism" and so forth. Hands of capitalism is exactly the same as Constitutional rule of law. Take back all of the Federal agencies and you have hands off Capitalism in the USA again. The people that lost the Civil War created the KKK and Progressive (Marxism) in the same moment. Antitrust law that evolved at the same time is not doctrinaire anything. It was "progress" in the rule of law and protecting the public from truly dangerous concentrations of power. But notice that Antitrust law doesn't require the deprivation of due process of the law. Everything "Progressive" since then is about erosion of the rule of law in favor of rule by council/party decree. IOW, Soviet Communism.
The other thing that Marxists ALWAYS leave out is what the actual conditions were when some group revolts and puts together some form of "socialism". Monarchs always held all mineral rights, no matter what "property" rights they allowed. And without an independent judiciary that can save owners from tyranny, you can't actually have "hands off" (rule of law) capitalism. If the US actually believes in sensible "socialism" they would have studies of how much mineral wealth is already held on Federal lands and then come up with rational ways to raise funds and manage those programs. And public schools would not teach fearmongering nonsense but would instead by funded through a voucher system paid for by "socialized' mineral rights taken from Federally owned lands. Think carefully before launching a "but Capitalism" trope because the key problem in all Marxist exposition is the failure to understand the difference between an explanatory trope and a verifiable fact. And lastly, there's a difference between "central planning" aka "social justice" versus "rule of law" economic interventions.
Not one claim in this video stands up to the scrutiny of anyone that knows what is being discussed as mere theory versus verifiable facts of reality. Even this alleged "hegemonic imperialism" is a feature of Marxism, not rule of law capitalists that understand the truth about how wealth is created and shared "fairly" under "democratic" rule of law - that requires an enforceable "due process" and "property rights" regime that the Communist Manifesto itself claims is the very root of the problem. Only Marxists in the US and Europe think that Ukraine must be defended from "Russian tyranny" because every sentient human knows that the fight for political and economic hegemony over Ukraine is between Russia and China. The CCP and many in Ukraine want "belt and road" alignment and Russia can't openly argue against China in Ukraine. LOL. What is wrong with you brainiacs? It's not that complicated. China is a competitor for hegemony unregulated by a voting public. You can't appeal to the CCP for "fairness" because it was long decided that Communist "fairness" means the wholesale destruction of all private property rights. Only Marxists want a "big" Social Justice" regulatory state.

For the record, the reason that the BRICS alliance countries have been so successful as capitalists is that they already had or put into place authoritarian states. (Brazil/Bolsanaro; China the CCP; India Modi; Russian/Putin; S. Africa is a special case and is largely part of this alliance because of complex historical processes). Point being modern global capitalism moves more quickly and "works better" with an authoritarian state. Because capitalism and authoritarianism have the same goals: to collect power into a small group--one in the form of economic power, the other in the form of political power.. Real democracy is antithetical to capitalism because democracy's goal is to spread power laterally. Socialism is the economic system that fits with democracy's goals because socialism wants to spread economic power laterally.

Your lecture or presentation was so comprehensive; thank for your Due Diligence on this particular topic. I have never heard anyone else tell such a profound Truth with historical illustrations connecting Finance, Economics and Politics in conjunction with the Authoritarian State thereby unraveling the harmful synergistic effects of Capitalism on various nations and societies. What a fantastic delivery on how we have gotten to this state of affairs with the demise of the American Empire. Feudalism took us to the Root cause of our problem; it was the origin of your critique; the way you constructed and explained your arguments and showed similarities was excellent, No I am not trying to grade you! . - I recently (~1.5 weeks ago)had thoughts about the current unsustainability of the current paradigm (planned obsolescence) and the increasing power hungriness or power consumption and resources (memory required, for instance; memory usage) of modern operating systems, specifically Android (and android apps like Google Maps) and Windows (Windows 11 for instance, and also, Microsoft's Bing search engine which has adopted Chatgpt, which uses enormous amounts of power) just thinking about the cost-benefit analysis in terms of features that normal people use and need, vs. the power and resource use (/consumption). - With today's modern hardware (very impressive hardware.(!) we have now today) how fast and good really are all the updates shoved down upon us by these for profit corporations and what is really the effect of this in the real world? - lots of waste. Lots of trash. Lots of materials used. A lot of money via consumers spent in always having to replace and update their hardware. It's an insane system really. - All this "fictious" economics that focuses on profit above all else and needing to, having to, go at a faster and faster rate - just for the sake merely of more "growth" in numbers - which is then counted as GDP.

Thank you for endorsing what I've been espousing to my family for months now! Love it or hate them, China is working and (economicly) a massive success!! Regardless of the rest, China's emphasis on education since Mao's death has significantly improved their economy today, imho 😊
