I agree that there is a world of difference between paying your workers diddly squat vs paying them a reasonable amount. However, in a capitalist system, capitalists are insentivised to treat their workers in the worst way that they can get away with. Even with regulations in place, if your as big as a corporation like Amazon, which is worth more than the GDP of all but 16 of the world's nations, you are effectively immune to the law.
Capitalists also have nigh total control over the apparatus of our governments. The people's will is effectively irreverent in most countries, as lobbies spend ungodly sums of money donating to politicians campaigns (ie bribing them). Even if a leftist politician is elected, the most powerful people in society are always working against the common interest.
You also show a misunderstanding of Marxian economic theory. Now, I'm not a Marxist, as I disagree with him on many of his central theses, but I think if your arguing against a position, you should at least understand it. The basic idea behind all socialism, which includes anarchism, mutualism, Bolshevism, syndicalism, communism, etc, is that the means of production, which is fancy lefty speak from the things that produce goods, eg factories, should be managed democratically, as opposed to the autocratic way in which firms are managed in the current system.
Socialists don't advocate that everyone be payed the same. Communists specifically don't advocate for money or any kind of private property whatsoever. Socialists aren't advocates for equality. In fact, many of them, including myself, think that equality is useless as a political goal.
By this definition, the USSR can't be considered communist, because Soviet Russia had a currency and was also undemocratic. The reasons that it's the USSR and the USCR is because in Bolshevist theory, a totalitarian state is necessary to protect the revolution and spread communist ideology. Only when the whole word is conquered, so says the bolshevik, can the state disappear and communism be achieved. I think that this is bollocks. When was the last time you heard of a dictatorship willing giving way to democracy without putting up a fight?
Anyway, to sum up, saying that the problem with capitalism is just certain capitalists is like saying that the problem with monarchy is that the monarch is sometimes bad. Putting a new king in charge may temporarily make things better, but it won't fix the underlying problem with the system as a whole. Though I don't doubt that capitalism has done immense good for the world and the Bolshevist regimes of Russia and East Germany were tyrannical and not something to be emulated, I think it's time that we move on to a new, more stable, and more democratic economic system.

Imperialism exists since early XX century, it continues today with USA's military expansion. Work is a base of a life. Every specie work to make a living, to help its species survive, so do humans. Whether it's capitalism, socialism or whatever, people are going to have to work. The thing is that in capitalism the ruling and owning class wants to maximise the profit, maximise the wealth generated by the proletariat. Where does the wealth go to? Most of it to the bourgeoisie.
