Nice job on the lift, and I personally appreciate the fact you don’t have any snow on the ground, up here, everything is white. It’s melting right now, and supposed to be nice all week, so maybe we’ll get a look at some green stuff soon as well. Thinking Spring, but it’s a bit to early. LOL
W 30 We haven't received any snow so far this year. Thanks for watching and stay safe
@@SumterWrecker Would you like some? I could arrange a few truck loads if you feel deprived. LOL 😂 😉👍
If the boom was able to swivel, he wouldn't have to keep repositioning the truck especially in small areas. I've heard of train cars derailing, but it I never ever thought track maintenance vehicles derailing. They were lucky to be in spot where they could be helped. If they had been in an area where you can't get to with your wrecker, they would probably have had to call for a large railroad crane. Enjoy watching your videos. Mr. Wilbur is the man. You be safe out there. Looking forward to the next video
Mr Nathan Yes sir a rotator would have been nice. Thanks for watching and stay safe
A TrackMobile is a small, customer-owned locomotive that is used on their property only, for moving train cars around within the confines of their trackage. Most TrackMobiles have both rail wheels, and rubber tires, and the purpose for the tires is so that that TrackMobile can use "dry land" to navigate around the rail cars, if necessary, to be able to re-position. They can pull in either direction, and have a coupler on either end. While the cab is off-set for visibility purposes, if the operator doesn't like being on the one side, he or she could use the rubber tires to navigate the machine and re-mount with the entire machine turned 180 degrees, and the cab would then be on the other side. It would depend on desired visibility, curvage, and objects that the operator very much needs or wants to be able to see. Withe the model seen in this video, he could exit the cab if needed, and walk across the upper deck to peek at what he or she wants to see on the opposite side.
These things can move a short string of loaded cars together, and easily double that with empties, but it depends on the terrain, the weather, and traction to the rail. They usually have a feature that will throw sand in front of the steel wheels, for added traction.
Well they called the right guys, to get them back on track
