Very good helpful, video. FYI: The algorithm's are not used in banks. It is named Bankers just because its principle works like a bank. You are managing a bank and give out loans to people and then get it back, and then give it to another. You cannot give too many loans because you'll be stuck with no money..
This was a fantastic explanation, very clean and concise. Thank you for also going into how requests are handled, and what the steps to dealing with them are! You rock!
Thank you very much for this lecture. I understood how the banker's algorithm worked within the start to finish time of this video. Clear and concise without getting too deep into the details. That's at least 5 guaranteed points on my exam tomorrow.
i wish i had seen this video before last sem exam then i would have not left this problem. The question was for 12 mrks and i just left it,now i regret it.But better late then never.Sadly i got 32 mrks bt passingmrks was 35.Only if i had seen this. But better late then never, tommorow is my nxt attempt.I am sure i will crack it now. Thanks for making this videos,ek engineer ki dua hai tmko. :)
love u mam.... u r just simply superb.. I was totally going to vomit this sums for my exam. But when I saw ur video, the way u explain all the things, that was truely awesome..... and also would like to mention that ur voice is so good...! thanks again
You are a goddess !!!!..... Got exams tomorrow.... had no intention of passing :D now things are gonna change :P Thank you a lot. Wish you all the success in your life.
Super video, super clarity of voice and to see, above all super tutorial.....Thanks Thank you ssooooo much for this video........this was very helpful.....
Knoledge in a very charming voice " This what we call sublime Bonus " . God Bless Mifta you are awesome .Once you drive a BMW do not forget to wear the seat belt.
Great tutorial ! One little clarification though. The reason we can't grand P4 with resources (3,3,0) is indeed there are not enough available resources, but this does not follow by working though the available matrix , but simply by the fact that summing all allocated resources to A (3 +3+3+2) = 11 is more than the total for A -10 . This allocations are all at time T0
heyyy mifta ,thnx yaar ,today i was os exm of 5th sem computer engg(mumbai university).and they set this question 4 exam (i.e copy paste)....thnx again.....thnx lot 10 marks jack port.....haaahaaa
That example is from The Dinosaur Book by Galvin and it should have been made clearer that those Work is getting increased by allocation because after a process completes its task ,it releases the resources that it was holding i.e its allocation. Thanks for the explanation.
thanks alot ^.^ I have my operating system exam in the morning...your videos helped me alot. I guess you are from bangladesh :) * DHONNOBAD * love from kolkata :)
Suupose P1 requests a resource .Add it to P1 s Allocation , Subtract it from Available and then Subtract it from Need . Mam u missed the part about subtracting from Need.
+vignesh mallya no subtract from need you need to from new need matrix by subtracting allocation from max in which allocation of p1 will be updated one and then again start computing in loop need matrix depends on difference of allocation and max ,max too not alone on allocation

Viktor Bakayov would summing all allocated resources in A be (0+3+3+0+2) = 8?
Exactly... No need of working out the entire thing. There just aren't enough resources.
Hey Mifta, this was very helpful! Thank you :)
You saved me the pain of reading big confusing books. Thanks a lot. 😊😊
