I'm always blown away at the quality and time that you put in, it honestly beats any guitar RUclipsr with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Keep it up, if only I could like a video more than once!
Thank you for those words of encouragement! Hearing people like the tutorials and get work with them is all the motivation I need to keep going, no matter how much work every video requires!
You are definitely my favourite go-to source for learning Tommy Emmanuel songs! I’ve learnt Windy & Warm off of you and this song is definitely on my list. Keep doing what you do, the way you structure your videos are perfect!
I've learnt so many Tommy songs off of this channel, I'm looking forward to this lesson. The way you teach it is second to none so please keep up the great work! Oh and could you make a lesson on 'The Man with the Green Thumb', I'd love to learn that! :)
I'm glad to help you guys out! "The Man With The Green Thumb" was voted for in the last poll and is included in the next batch of tutorials. However, it was a bit lower on the ranking so I'll probably only get to work on it around January... So, a bit of patience, but I'll keep you busy in the meantime 😎
And here it is! I knew I read your reply but couldn't find it anymore! It took me a week to find it. I'll probably do a livestream (here on RUclips) with a Q&A once I hit 5000 subs. Would that help you as well? One on one lessons/streams are bit more difficult at the moment because of my family situation (I usually record extremely late at night)!
Hi, Tim! It's very nice that you searched for my answer, made such an effort in a week. Yes, you can also stream it when you get 5,000 subscribers.))) I understand you about family circumstances) I will wait for the right time, that is, the stream. Thank you for making a video!))) I've already learned two of Tommy's songs in your class, Saltwater and Halfwayhome. Now I'm working on them, training them.
Thanks! It's a Mayson MS9/SCE, an older model. It's not an extremely expensive instrument either (compared to high end Taylor/Martin), but it records really well. I only cut the bass frequencies a bit, and that's it!
Hi Tim, if its not too much to ask we’d love if you could make a video explaining a little bit of Tommy’s right hand technique because to be honest sometimes i have trouble when learning his songs. Like for example when i put my pinky down as an anchor point like yourself and Tommy my right hand ring finger gets very weak, so if you could maybe make a short video explaining how to do it(feel comfortable to make it as long as you want) by the way i also don’t know if tommy uses his ring finger that much in some videos i see him use it and sometimes I don’t. So if you could please shed some light on it I would be extremely thankful to you❤️ Cheers.
A series of video lessons on starting you in this style is in the making, but it takes a huge amount of planning to get all the lessons to line up. As soon as the script stage is over I'll start filming, but with all the tutorials I still have to do I guess this will be something that will be posted in 2021! But I'll keep you busy until then 🤓
Tim Van Roy im a hundred percent sure you’ll make a perfect course because that’s why i love your work and videos because you always take care of the small details and everything you do is perfect👏I can’t wait 💃
Hey Tim, may I ask how you learned these Tommy Emmanuel songs? Was it ears or tabs? I’m curious as I’m thinking of not using tabs so I can develop my ears and theory knowledge more. Would like to know your opinion! Thanks
Hi Danneo! It's a bit of both... or even better: it's three methods combined. At this time my ears are trained to the point I can transcribe most of this, and if I do that I normally remember the songs best. But I'll be honest and admit that it took a long time (so take your time as well) and I frequently use software to slow songs down to hear things better. But I also read tabs to speed up the process sometimes, as well as (gasp!) music notation! I'm not the biggest proponent of using (only) tabs, but I do realise they are very useful to lots of people... and that's why they are in the videos!

Your tutorials are awesome. Untill i watched your luttrell vid, i would have never attempted it! Ive almost got it now!
Nice one Joe, if you got Luttrell down then you have my respect! And I'm delighted to have been able to help you out with that!
Just wanted to remind you
You are amazing and your voice peaceful.
Much appreciated Manish! I might start doing audio book reading if those voice compliments keep coming in 🤓
Hopefully, you will do a tutorial for this song soon. I'll stay tuned... Thanks mate for everything!!!
As always, the tutorial will be posted around the same time next week. Better get your guitar in tune 😜
Much waited song
Next week you can get to work with it! Same place, same time!
@@TimVanRoy Sure Man❤
Oh ! I wanted this song perfect !
I have fallen behind on a lot of pieces to learn... I need to make up for it 😂
This one should be perfect for you! About the same difficulty level as Clara's Theme (maybe a bit more difficult). Better get to work then 😎
Классно, спасибо, Tim!))))
Не стоит благодарности (I hope I Googled that right 🤣)

nice one mate.
are you considering Morning Aire. 😊😎
Thanks Brett! If I recall correctly, Morning Aire is already on the next polling list!
Outstanding! What kind of guitar is that? It’s beautiful!

Please do amazing grace by Tommy Emmanuel if you get the chance
I'll add that one to the list for the next poll! Everyone will get to vote on what happens next.

@@TimVanRoy GASP! no, not the dread standard notation, very shocking! aha
Thank you for answering, it's valuable insight for me :D
You have to take on Classical
Gas
Already on the next polling list! But first the top 10 that was recently voted for...
sUPErB
gosh how many guitard do you have lol
Around 10... which is still very reasonable for someone who has been a pro musician for almost 20 years 😅
