    I’m a new subscriber and wanted to say I think you’re my favorite homeschool RUclips mom. Thoughtful, articulate, helpful, and wise! I appreciate that you don’t use filler words, or “gotcha” headlines on your videos, and that you thoughtfully consider switching curricula rather than just jumping on bandwagon after bandwagon. Anyway, thank you for the insightful videos!

    Thank you for this video! I’m going to be a first time Sonlighter this year and didn’t know about their annual sale. Now I’m extra excited for March 🎉

    Thank you for the tips! So helpful! My kids and I are finishing up HBL A this year and have loved it so much. With that being said, my daughter (7) gets so much more out of it than my son (5). I was all set on HBL B for next year, but now I’m wavering and thinking maybe we should do K to get my son a little more into the age range going forward🤔 I’ll have to give those advisors a call👍🏻

      Oh, you should definitely go back and do K! It is a wonderful level and she will not be too old for it ... but yes, do give the advisors a call!

    Yay!! I have my wishlist ready. I will be purchasing this weekend to get the 25% off on ASP. We did E last year. My son was middle of the range and my daughter was younger and I can relate to what you said about the confidence. My son was ready for world history this year so he went on to W for 7th grade this year. Yes he is on the young end of the range. But he has flourished over the last couple years and says this is his favorite year of history yet! He loves every book and is happy to be challenged a bit more, but still not stretched beyond his comfort zone. He is so excited to use J next year. My daughter took a gap year from Sonlight this year to study state history and dig deeper into western expansion. She will use F next year as an 11 year old, so yes, on the younger end, but she is ready. Splitting them up once my son hit junior high was the best thing for both of them. So yes, skipping a level to meet their interests can be very beneficial. I love how much flexibility Sonlight gives us when customizing our ASP. It allows me to get them exactly what works best for each of them. Great video!

      Yes, to everything you said! I love hearing how you split them up come middle school ... that is my rough plan for the future :)

    You’ll probably discuss this soon, but what do you plan to do with your daughter next year since she won’t be ready for D?

    • @sciencemama
      @sciencemama  5 месяцев назад +1

      I am planning on chatting more about that soon ... but my current plan is to give D a shot with her since she is in the age range but possibly sub in the Level 4 readers. Honestly not sure yet :)

      @@sciencemamaI am planning on using BFB Ealry American History Primary for my youngest and adding in some readalouds from D & E. We shall do Sonlight la still, and go into D and use their readers, and then the following year move to La E and for literature history content I will either use BFB History of Science or go with Notgrass Adam to Us, and then back to Sonlight F. I don’t feel my youngest will be reading for D.

      In April

    • @sciencemama
      @sciencemama  5 месяцев назад

      I'm not quite sure - I know in April the new catalog goes live, which tends to bump prices a bit. But I think the March sale is the biggest sale and I'm not sure if there is usually and HBL sale or anything like that later in the year!
