  • This is part of my 1,000 subscriber special, a new revision of my restored audio/video recreation, of the c.1981-83 version of "it's a small world" at Disneyland. Essentially, this is a restored recreation of a lost c.1982 video that used to be on RUclips, which was extremely rare because although they had already made several changes to the audio between the early 70's and early 80's, there were also several significant changes around 1983 (And a few smaller ones afterward), which for the most part were made just before the 1985 cutoff of the oldest full videos of IASW currently on this platform. There is another partial video from 1982 that was thankfully uploaded last year (Courtesy of The 909 Life), which is also extremely rare and amazing as it's the oldest videotape from it's a small world at Disneyland on RUclips by three years, and the only one before the changes in c.1983. Before that, there are only three sound films (1970, 1977, 1981) currently on this platform. Although I do remember seeing this video and being very interested, it was deleted in 2016 or 17 and I wasn't as knowledgeable about the audio back then. This is why I need to give major thanks to RedzRobinz and Adam Smithson for telling me all about this video on Discord. Most of the audio stayed pretty much the same for the first decade, however around roughly 1976 they added the main theme instrumentals throughout most of the ride whereas previously they were just at the beginning and end, removed the adult chorus in Finale and Goodbye rooms, replaced the British third verse with a repeat of the first verse, and mixed that with the audio which was likely played in the Welcome room since the early 70's (c.1971-72) in the Welcome, Finale, and Goodbye rooms (Except from about 1981 to 1993, they only had British vocals in Finale). They may have also done this to the South Pacific English vocals, however for now I think they might not have changed those until the next time the audio changed in roughly fall 1981. Around fall 1981, they not only changed the Welcome and Goodbye rooms to the versions seen in this video, they also put the Holland/Belgium instrumentals at a much higher volume, which was like that until roughly 1988 or so when they put them back to the normal volume. However, there were still a few differences between this c.1981-83 version from the one heard from 1985 until 1993 (With a few minor changes between 1987-93). The largest and most noticeable is that in the Japan scene, they had the original Japanese vocals instead of the English vocals heard from c.1983 until 2003. In addition, the Nigerian English vocals were still the originals from 1964 (Except removed adult chorus), and the Ireland instrumentals were still the full original 1964 audio track, unlike c.1983-1993 when it was just the harp. The Brazil audio was removed from c.1983-1988. As of 2024, I now know that the Japanese vocals were removed around late 1982 or early 1983 because there is now a video from 1983 with the English in that scene. It says 1984, but I'm pretty sure that it's actually 1983 because it also has Flights of Fantasy Parade. There were also a couple more noticeable changes shortly after the first home videos still on this site, such as removing the Swedish instrumentals in the North Pole room in 1985 only to bring them back at a lower volume in 1990. In 1993 they installed the soundtrack used in the Disneyland Paris version of the ride, and in 2003 they brought back this original 1964/66 soundtrack (minus the 70's-80's alterations), which for the most part is still played today. And since pretty much all of the visuals in that video were exactly the same as they were from at least 1985-86, I was able to compile several videos and films between 1982-86 to recreate a full ride through, and a Clock Parade. The Clock Parade has been added since the last version, and the old version is linked below. I hope you enjoy, and thank you so much for 1,000 subscribers!

Just beautiful! 💙 It’s hard to believe this ride is as old as I am. Also, I forgot that people had to be reminded not to smoke! Disney finally completely banned smoking (and vaping) on property only in the last five years or so.

Happy to hear you really enjoyed it! I also sometimes find it hard to believe this ride is as old as it is, it was certainly the most advanced ride of its kind when it opened and I still think it's one of the much more complex ones in the whole Disneyland Resort today.

Yes. Originally there were two males. Their body movements were originally different until around 1972, and one would be replaced with a female around 1994

@@benjaminroberson1924 Heh, interesting. Magic Kingdom kept the two as twins until 2005, although I wish they would revert the two back to twins as I think that looks better

I found some really neat audio effects in adobe premiere so I might be able to do a realistic audio flow-through, with reverb and such
