non spoiler answers to your questions: not many kids get to go on quests or succeed finishing them so it’s a huge thing to get to go on one. also there’s no age limit at the camp, (luke is 19) there aren’t many older ones at camp though because demigods don’t normally make it past 12-13 years old. also Zeus doesn’t need logic or reason he’s stubborn and doesn’t care. they didn’t tell percy about his mom because then he would try and focus on her instead of the actual quest.

Couldn't agree more. Also one more non spoiler comment: There were more reasons why Mr D and Chiron did not want Percy to know (that his mom was alive and stolen by Hades), in that earlier scene, before they realised he was the son of Poseidon and had to do this quest... but that reason is not revealed yet... 🤐😃 ...guess you could say they were afraid he would do something stupid. 😆🤐🤐

The twelve Olympians who have cabins at Camp Half-blood:
[1] Zeus - no children, the pact + Thalia didn't make it
[2] Hera - no children, she is Zeus' wife and the goddess of marriage and doesn't have affairs
    [3] Poseidon - Percy
    [4] Demeter
    [5] Ares - Clarisse's cabin
[6] Athena - Annabeth's cabin, she is head counselor
    [7] Apollo
[8] Artemis - no children, she is a virgin goddess
    [9] Hephaestus
    [10] Aphrodite
[11] Hermes - Luke's cabin, he is head counselor
    [12] Dionysus
The gods who don't have demigod children have 'honorary cabins'

(no spoilers) to add onto this: there are tons of other greek gods, like Hypnos (god of sleep) and Hecate (goddess of magic) but only the 12 mentioned above have cabins. The other gods, called minor gods, also sometimes have demigod children, however their kids just go in the hermes cabin with the unclaimed. The “the Olympians” part of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is a direct reference to the 12 gods mentioned above.

If the only way you get your parent’s attention is to be the strongest at camp it’s no wonder why Clarrise hates Percy blowing into camp after killing a monster single-handedly.

Most demigods are instinctually good at certain things that have to do with their godly parent. It's obviously possible to be good at a thing connected to a god and not be their child, just probably not immediately so. Like, there's a difference between someone who picks up archery fairly quickly and an Apollo's child who, let's say, hits the bullseye the first time they ever touch a bow and arrow

10:55 I always thought of it as - each god has a domain, that their children have affinity to. Their easiest way to prove themselves worthy of their divine parent's attention is showing off their mastery of that domain, in whatever way they are able to do that. So, if an unclaimed child of Hephaestus, god of the forge, finds themselves handy at crafts, it'll give them something to do - something to master. And then you hope and pray.

Yesss all will be revealed. You have some very good questions (no spoilers) "no one is gonna tell him (percy) anything": basically the whole percy jackson series

To be fair, as someone whose native language isn't English, it would make sense for forgery to be the word for what one does at a forge. But alas, the English language defies logic once again 😂😂

Just a little tid bit, don’t know if it’ll be helpful since I know RUclips is behind what you post on patron, but if you watch past the fun animated credits there’s a little sneak peak at the next episode.
