The back and fourth and hot and cold moments is what keeps you reeled in bc one minute you guys are completely in love and the next you guys hate each other. Something that made me leave was realizing that we aren’t bad ppl, we are just bad together. Letting go makes us both happier in the end.

Whenever I listen to this song, I can't help but remember her. The relationship we shared was both bitter and fun, it was a paradox of emotions. It was the one relationship where I gave my all, only for her to choose someone else in the end. The first time I listened to this song was the day I found out she was with someone new. I think this song captures what a toxic relationship is perfectly. You're with someone who doesn't really appreciate you , they say they love you but show you otherwise and you're so confused by their actions . This album came out my Junior year of HS and that was a rough year for me. I had been snap chatting a girl, I started to form feelings for her, but it never went anywhere. Eventually, things weren’t going the way I wanted… and I got depressed. Driver’s License came out and I fell in love. Soon, I listened to the Sour album and truly felt the emotions that Olivia had while making the album. I know she’ll never see this, or even read it for that matter, but THANK YOU for making this album.
Sour is hilarious because of how relatable it is. My ex and I broke things off when driver licence got out and I listened to the song for the entire month on repeat. And when the album came out I was shocked because damn have I ever relate to music this much before. This reminds me of my old abusive relationship, but I’ve healed a lot since then (I haven’t recovered fully however), this song helps me remember how messed up everything was and how i should never go back. I’m still trying to work on that part, but other than that everything’s okay-ish. I still cry from now and then because of how bad the mental abuse was. Felt like I was walking on eggshells all the time around him. Anything would send him into these episode where he would threaten suicide. But that chapter’s over. Thank you for this song.

You lose yourself in trying to keep them. It is hard and still painful missing him but I know I don't want that toxic relationship anymore which left me, in Olivia's words, 'fucked up in the head'.

Whenever I listen to this song, I can't help but remember her. The relationship we shared was both bitter and fun, it was a paradox of emotions. It was the one relationship where I gave my all, only for her to choose someone else in the end.
The first time I listened to this song was the day I found out she was with someone new. It hurt deeply, but I carry no regrets. I know I played my part in her life. I lifted her up, helped her grow, showed her my 101% and gave her everything I had. But as she flourished, something in the way she looked at me changed.
And yet, despite everything, I’m at peace knowing I was a stepping stone for her. Even if I was left empty, even if I forgot to save something for myself, I am still grateful. Because in the midst of the pain, there was happiness too, atleast happiness in giving.

Everyone is talking about a romantic partner, but this just reminds me of my parents. They love me until I make a mistake. I still remember my mom's words when I promised to pass a Science test back in 5th grade I tried my hardest to study but ended up not passing: "I'm losing my love for you." It's been like this since forever. And they still wonder why I don't open up to them haha.

I think this song captures what a toxic relationship is perfectly. You're with someone who doesn't really appreciate you , they say they love you but show you otherwise and you're so confused by their actions . You still believe that they're amazing and you're the one who is crazy , you're the one whose always in the wrong and you always seem to mess it up even tho that is not true and now you're left doubting and second guessing yourself cuz the other person is "perfect" and they make you believe that you're not😕 and that's....ouch

this is one of the best songs that she has written. i don’t understand why people hate on it so much. it talks about a toxic relationship. when you are in a toxic relationship you don’t want to let it go because you put so much effort in keeping the relationship going that you don’t realize that it is falling apart. ‘and I’d leave you but the rollercoasters all i’ve ever had’ she is so used to it that she feels like it would be hell if they weren’t together. it hurts to know that if she leaves that she won’t know what to do anymore. 3 steps back might seem like a lot but you are so blinded by love that that 1 step forward is going to be your motivation even though you are going back more steps then when you started with.

This album came out my Junior year of HS and that was a rough year for me. I had been snap chatting a girl, I started to form feelings for her, but it never went anywhere. Eventually, things weren’t going the way I wanted… and I got depressed.
Driver’s License came out and I fell in love. Soon, I listened to the Sour album and truly felt the emotions that Olivia had while making the album. I know she’ll never see this, or even read it for that matter, but THANK YOU for making this album.
This isn’t an album. It’s a lifestyle. a revolution ;)
Sour is hilarious because of how relatable it is. My ex and I broke things off when driver licence got out and I listened to the song for the entire month on repeat. And when the album came out I was shocked because damn have I ever relate to music this much before. "I'm the love of your life until I make you mad", "did I say something wrong", "maybe this is your fault".1step forward and 3 steps back perfectly described the toxic relationship I was in. This reminds me of my old abusive relationship, but I’ve healed a lot since then (I haven’t recovered fully however), this song helps me remember how messed up everything was and how i should never go back. I’m still trying to work on that part, but other than that everything’s okay-ish. I still cry from now and then because of how bad the mental abuse was. Felt like I was walking on eggshells all the time around him. Anything would send him into these episode where he would threaten suicide. But that chapter’s over. Thank you for this song.
