2:00 reminded me of The rise of hannibal - Ex Deo section which is a good thing. I like the clean sections and they are stuck in my head for some reason. Through this EP I could hear some Swallow the sun riffs too.
Overall, I expected better.
Get Brandon Back (we are humans we make mistakes), Let Aaron Chaparin supervise the writing and let him write Drums and I mean it.. Let the man Supervise the whole thing because he has the ability to give a unique sound and I have never heared anything similar to In the wake ov sol despite I don't like how breakdowns were written but overall, crimson moon, chasm dweller, Loathe were unqiue masterpeieces at that time and still.
This EP is cool different direction but I do not compare it with Winter Sun or Ov Sword because those 2 are 10 times better and I was waiting something to compete against them.
The band seems to be affected by Lorna Shore fanboys accusing them of copying it and they are trying to produce something totally different. - I would say you don't need to. you built an audience you saw success let the fanboys fanboying at the end of the day what matter is your success. Another thing to add, I DO NOT LIKE LORNA SHORE but I liked to listen to Worm Shephered which means those 2 are not the same. Lorna shore doesn't own the Blackend deathcore genre. keep that in your mind.
Another thing this band needs is to hire Josh schroder for production - not only mixing Let him do the whole thing try with 1 track where you aim to nuke your Ov Sword and nail.. go all in in that direction.. get brandon back and let Aaron Chaparin put his touch .. no drummer fine, let Aaron write the drumms.
