I haven't even watched Evangelion before, but somehow that opening managed to invoke some form of nostalgia. The shift from the "older" track into the "newer" one works masterfully as you cut into the higher res movie footage too. Fantastic edit overall. The timing, story, and just overall vibe is fantastic. You really managed to make me emphasis with Shinji even without me knowing any of the real story.
How the music fits well, the flawless transition, the excellent usage of zoom/pan, and how the lyrics fits Shinji’s story throughout the Evangelion Story is just….. This. Is. A. Masterpiece.
This here is a wonderful piece of art you've made. I just know when you heard "congratulations" that you put that on the timeline first and made a whole video around that haha. But honestly the use of the older Eva in the beginning when it sounds old timey really fits. I think there's so many great lyrical moments like all the "heaven and hell" moments to curtain falling. Just brilliant! I also think your video has great transitions, zooms and masks that blend in perfectly and keep the flow going. I just wanted to tell you congratulations and I can't wait to see what you do next!
Was listening to this album for the first time and thought "This would make a good Shinji AMV" followed by "Oh crap it IS a good Shinji AMV" so I hustled over here to rewatch it. It's a killer combination and you did great with it, I love the transition from the OG series to the movies when the mood changes. 5/5 would not run away again.
This is my favorite Evangelion AMV of all time, I've rewatched it at least 10 times already and each time it gets better. Don't even know what to say... great song choice and you picked the perfect clips to match. The emotions and story resonate so strongly. Love it.
