Quite interesting. I try to keep gas cans and such in my shed rather than the garage, but I still occasionally have fuel/oil spills. Since I am in the planning stage of my install, I'll take this into account. Thank you. Do you have a video on what to put on the walls around the wood stove? I'm thinking some reflective foam insulation panels.
how close to the wall can I install my wood burning stove if I'm using rock wool insulation covered by cement board with corrugated steel panels over that?
1890 Beckwith is a parlor stove, but if you live in Canada you'll need to install it with the firebox 18" off the floor if installing it in a garage, just like other fuels (there is exceptions) sealed units etc..
It would depend on the one inspecting the unit, I would think without seeing it one on the corner would be enough, think of a car, lawn tractor or other toys as 4x4 or snowmobile etc would hit it before hitting the stove. I don't think it's logical to think you can stop a out of control vehicle from hitting the appliance or going through the wall for that matter. But protection from someone encroaching to close and a notice by an impact to the driver/operator.
I am a daycare owner that shares one common wall with a storage garage. The people who are renting the storage garage have turned into a auto shops / Auto club and have recently installed a wood heating unit. Considering that you are putting your unit and a privately owned garage what will be the regulations for a storage garage that is not supposed to be occupied. I'm trying to put all my ducks in a row before I call the fire marshal / fire company on these people for poisoning me and my daycare kids especially if they're in this space illegally

I want to place my wood stove in the back left corner of my garage. Would I still need 2 posts for protection or just 1 on the front corner
