Most "family vloggers" give me the ick, but you have always found an appropriate, loving, and respectful balance. Thank you for raising awareness. I'm a grown up with chronic illness and it helps ME feel more seen ❤
Over a decade now of following your videos and you never fail to inspire me with your kindness and humility. Lucy is getting so tall and strong, like her parents! ❤
Love these updates. I have cerebral palsy and understand these challenges you guys live. While STXPB1 is very rare and you likely became an honorary doctor long ago, my disability is extremely common. It is the most common disability affecting children in the United States. You know what stinks? There is almost NO research on aging with cerebral palsy. Thanks to modern medicine, most children with CP are living into adulthood with normal average life expectancies. Doctors have almost no evidence based research on aging with cerebral palsy and don't know how to help patients. I'm 38 now and bouncing around trying to find the right doctors. I thought living in Kansas City with access to University of Kansas Health System would be great for me but I was surprised to find that many doctors that I meet are unfamiliar with cerebral palsy. So frustrating! I know you expect to have to educate Lucy's team but gosh is it exhausting trying to convince my doctors that yet, I do in fact, have cerebral palsy. 😟
Agreed and next to nothing late in life, senior years, death and dying. It’s the same with autism. The reason is that children get the funding for research and studies, because of the school tie-in, and it’s easier to sell children’s funding to taxpayers. Adult stages, not enough awareness and funding at all.
@@cwynn1547 Absolutely!! It's as if people with disabilities are supposed to have it all figured out by the time we hit 18. The small bits of research i've been able to find paint a very rough road ahead for me, even though I look "normal". There is more research on the long term impact of premature birth (I was born at 24 weeks gestation with hydrocephalus) and the outlook is grim. My doctors completely gloss over it. Amazing channel, so refreshing that ppl are no longer reluctant to talk about therapy, whether physical or mental. From my xp; to anyone who's ever been a victim of hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race : DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)
You mentioned this was a longer video, almost apologizing about it, but I really like vlogs, and getting to see what you and your sweet family are doing on a day to days basis sort to speak is really cool and inspirational. It is very interesting to see life from someone else’s perspective. You guys are doing a phenomenal job with your daughter! Much love and many prayers for Lucy and other children and their families navigating through similar situations ❤
I’m so glad you like long vlogs! I think when I vlog Ive missed it so much I end up recording a ton and talking about so many different things and can’t edit it all down 😅 I like long videos too but I know some people don’t
With every video i become more and more possitive LeighAnn was born to be Lucy's mama. The woman we have watched since the dirty bun days. The dating phase. The courtship with Grant. The beautiful bride to wife and now Lucy's mama. Being a staunch advocate for her daughter. The phases of LeighAnn .
I remember years ago you had purple hair and I remember thinking that you would be just as gorgeous as a brunette as you are a blonde. You and Grant are so blessed- Lucy has an amazing Mother and Father. GO LUCY!
Girl, I remember when your hair was brownish-red. No matter what you do to it it always looks fantastic! I'm a side part person I've always had my part on the left side so I love that you're doing that.
I know there have to be times when this life you’ve been given feels hard (like we all feel, regardless of circumstances at one time or another), and you wonder if you can do it and be what Lucy needs… but I just have to say, it brings tears to my eyes seeing how blessed she is to have you as parents, and how blessed you are to have her as your daughter. It just further proves that we are all given what we need and what we can handle (handle sounds almost negative, but I do not mean it in a negative way at all) . What I’m trying to say, is you and Grant are doing a beautiful job, and it is so inspirational seeing two humans fulfill their role so… beautifully. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say. You are an amazing woman and mother. ❤❤❤
Having a baby with a rare disease is something few understand. My daughter has recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. Watching this vlog feeling defeated because today our insurance denied some things our little one needs. Glad I can watch you and feel like someone understands the struggle!
Thank you for sharing this! I think it is so important showing this part of life and how you manage everything. You guys amaze me every time I tune in. And Lucy is such a rockstar! 🥰
Being a doctor, it’s super good that Grant is super low reaction 😂 I adore you and your family! I’ve been watching you a long time and am always so happy for you every time I watch a vlog. You found a wonderful partner, have a beautiful baby, and are an amazing mom and overall human. I’m as proud of you as anyone can be of a stranger ❤
I had Calico Critters when I was little! Loved them so much. I’m almost 40 now but they still make me smile and I love that they’re still around and haven’t really changed.
LeighAnn, I'm certain that Lucy's incredible strength comes from YOU! She's kicking ass and taking names, and it's all thanks to your nonstop support, attention, care, and LOVE. You two are sp lucky to have each other ❤
I've always known you're an amazing person all these years, but you are an AMAZING mom! Don't forget that. Lucy is such a strong girl because she has you 💖
Leighann, I just wanna encourage you. Your attitude toward bein the best Mama for Lucy is inspiring. It made my momma heart overflow with joy listening to you expressing how, you want her to have maximum comfort and quality you can possibly provide, down to even the small things💕 It's easy to see that the three of you are the perfect match, you complete each other. I'm glad Grant was able to there with u'all, at least part of the time. Your family is a blessing. THANK YOU for sharing your journey with us. Not even kidding, when I first started watching the vlog, my thought was that your hair looks great & I would love to achieve that color. No way it’s a mistake! My stylist did explain the highlight process to me and it goes through stages…..orange, yellow & then white.

I had the Calico Critters (formerly Sylvanian Families) in the early 90s. They came out in Japan in 1985. I remember getting the school bus for Christmas and was so excited! They are adorable!
How are just casually watching that Lucy now says "No". Wow!!! Lucy is such a force! Doing all those exercises with a smile. I still think about how Lucy was watching penguins and reacted to them. I was so happy! But now she communicates what she wants! Sorry about the rant. I am so excited!
