best tutorial , he covered all the options that you can try within 3 minutes , important tip! do not ignore when he said restart your laptop after following these steps , its very important , I followed all the steps still the touchpad was not working but then I restarted and the touchpad was working perfectly.

My external mouse stopped working, but touch pad working now. I guess it’s a some sort of win for me.
I was able to follow all of the steps now that I bought a mouse, but even after and unplugging the mouse the touchpad still isn't working. I followed the steps twice. Are there any other fixes?

FIRST, make sure the touchpad hasn't been disabled (mine was!) by accidentally pressing the "touchpad on/off" key on the keyboard. On my Acer laptop, the toggle key is shared with the F7 key on the top row. Your video is clear and relevant (thank you!) however, consider adding this 1-second fix.

BTW if this tutorial does not work, go to settings and search "touchpad on or off". It could be that for some reason it was turned off which was my case.

Guys Also Please Check Function Fn Keys to Enable the Touchpad. Sometimes we mistakenly disable the touchpad by function keys.

Good tutorial. I would also like to add I was trying to refresh a screen by pressing F5. Not knowing for sure if I had to hold down the Fn Function button while pressing F5, I didn't realize I disabled the touchpad while pressing Fn + F5, so that was the fix for me by pressing Fn + F5 again.

@@shivshakthi_love_lover It's the "Function" button key on the keyboard. That keyboard key literally says "Fn" on the keyboard key itself. That key on my laptop is on the bottom left by the Ctrl and Alt keys.

Edit update- my track pad is now working. I hit F7 and it turned back on 😂. I must have accidentally turned it off.

Okay. There might be another issue for some people. See if your Fn key is locked or not (Fn+Esc (FnLock))
Here's what I've faced. My touchpad was okay. If your keyboard has function key like Fn+F3 for volume increase something like that, there can also be an option for touchpad turn off function. For my laptop it was Fn+F10
So, initially my touchpad was off using the Fn+10 key from what I have observed. Then the Fn key was also locked too (Fn+Esc). Although touchpad was still turned on in the touchpad settings but it's couldn't undo Fn key.
So, uninstalling, updating wasn't working because it was turned off by Fn key.
Finally I tried the Fn key to turn on my touchpad, but the Fn key wasn't working because it was locked, lol
Then I noticed a blue light on Esc button. I wonder why is that and immediately remembered the Fn key is locked!
I simply just turned on the Fn key and then pressed Fn+F10 to turn on the touchpad and finally it worked!!!

If anyone wondering, if you press f6 on your laptop it should fix it. This worked on my ASUS laptop
ATTENTION EVERYBODY!!!!! THE MESSAGE BELOW IS WHAT HELPED ME FIX IT!!!!
so for some computers like mine (acer) there is a function row keys and one of those keys are f7. The f7 key on my computer locks the touchpad so i tried clicking again and it worked!!! try looking on ur function row for similar key functions like f9 or f5 or f6!!!

Under the Human Interface Devices, there is only one option(USB Input Device). So kinda lost on what I'm supposed to do😬
Guys just once use the USB mouse and >>right click on ELAN pointing device present in the right bottom corner>> open property of touch-pad>> Mouse properties will be open>> select last option button ELAN >>Click on Enable device button>> click on ok .... And DONE.... Problem solve
Just tried all options (Lenovo Legion 5, and yes, my touchpad is activated with F10 touch but) updated drivers, desinstaled and restarted but still doesnt work. do you have another idea ?
EDIT: I just found another option :
- If you are able to find Touchpad settings in Bluetooth & Devices, try disabling and re-enabling it. for me it was disabled even if had activated with F10 touch (lenovo)
Some laptops also have a button above the keyboard that enables/disables the keypad so if you accidentally pressed that, press it again

Just so people know the most likely reason it's happened is you've disabled it by hitting one of the F keys typically F4-F7. By pressing one of these you'll be able to enable the touchpad again.
Or just restart the laptop, this issue is most likely caused by overheating cpu/gpu problems basically meaning your laptop is too weak so run apps cautiously

Just long press the power button do it 2 to 3 times everything becomes normal
Thank you!!! Took my computer in for repair and they replaced the entire bottom housing of my laptop. I had to use a wireless mouse to do it but Uninstalling and checking for changes fixed everything! No cursor or anything was coming up when I used to touchpad. Liked and subbed 😁
