      Money Carload '24 was an absolute disaster with challenges / line calls across MANY matches. So many gaffes, it confirmed why ELC is absolutely needed regardless of surface. Romance '24 was much better.

  • @Jota1602_

    DONT understand why big tournaments don’t want to apply the Hawkeye like hard courts. Judge lines make mistakes, also the chair umpire and it’s acceptable

    • @razgriz1ne1ne48
      @razgriz1ne1ne48 8 месяцев назад +1

      I agree, it's some dumb reason that "Hawkeye has a margin of error of 1/100 of a inch , that's not good enough for us when we can see the mark left behind"

    • @jeremyd5850
      @jeremyd5850 7 месяцев назад +2

      I don’t get why the players can’t challenge the calls like hard courts. It could be the wrong mark or a judgement call. You can’t tell me some matches haven’t been fixed

    • @40i43
      @40i43 6 месяцев назад

      @@razgriz1ne1ne48 Actually Hawkeye system has a error margin of 2-5 mm (on clay it is higher than usual). On clay you can see the mark.The mark is however not only the ball. The trace of the ball is not only the ball itself, but also a slightly extended trace due to compression, speed and rotation. Hawkeye doesn't monitor the ball's fall itself, it only calculates its flight path. thats why many clay tournaments prefer not to have a hawkeye to avoid a situation where the mark is "in" and the ball is called "out".
      There is new hawkeye system called foxtenn and if developed it could be an answer to the clay problems with the mark

    • @got2bjosh
      @got2bjosh 6 месяцев назад

      @@40i43 Your info is outdated. Accuracy is now within 2mm regardless of surface. Madrid already uses ELC and so will all clay tournaments starting in 2025. Of the three clay Masters, M-C was absolutely horrible with umpire & linesperson fails. Madrid & Roma, however, were much better run and didn't run into such drama.

    Why do the referees in tennis have no power and can't just tell the players to keep their mouths shut? In any other sport you are not allowed to talk to the umpires in such a disrespectful way. Only in tennis does that seem to be ok.

    These clay court tournaments stating they don’t need hawkeye because of the mark left by the ball, clearly have no leg to stand on from all the incorrect calls. Secondly, when is tennis on all surfaces going to have instant replays for the umpire to review for double bounces and and out calls made while the player hits the ball, who then argue the linesman interrupted their shot making. Makes the sport look like a joke when it’s such a simple fix.
