    Forget this video.
    Pro tip:
Use a smaller rope instead of the wire and tie it to another vehicle and pull it through. Took me all of 10 minutes once I came up with that idea.

whoa, I'm glad this video exists. I bought a brand new but old stock 10s off ebay and the instructions for loading the rope in the instruction manual in no way represent the hardware or this video. no mention of the puck. no mention of the wire. my instructions talk about a specially machined rope washer and a button head bolt, which make no sense. my winch and hardware match this video. anyway, thank you for this video! I must just have some old version that accidentally shipped originally with an out of date instruction manual.

Brian must be superman. You'll Need a 12k winch just to pull it through :) then a priest to bless your neighborhood after all the cussing

Who makes the winch mount for that super duty?

So you don't tension the rope? At all? I've always been told you have to put a good amount of tension on synthetic rope when spooling it on to the drum. I've always just winched my Jeep up a slight incline to put the required tension on the rope.

I guess if Warn doesn't do it, I'm not going to worry about doing it anymore.

Nobody talks about it but legit question. I don't think we have to pretension because it can't get crushed. I do wonder if storing under tension will destroy rope. Also I've seen heat guards for rope right against the spool. I guess we have to ask the rope manufacturer.

You need tension. If you actually READ the instructions from Warn, they explain how to spool with tension. You use the vehicle and winch to a tree.

LOL. There is no way the rope is that easy to thread through the drum hole. The wire WILL break. I use a few loops of parachute cord to pull the rope through, which takes a lot more than giving it a tug. On one installation, I had to tie the parachute cord around a steel post and put the Jeep in reverse to pull the rope through and it still didn't have enough clearance to get that key in the loop because the loop was too short/small. The ZEON Series are great winches. The method of rope attachment is the worst in the industry. Suggestion to Warn: MAKE THE LOOP LONGER and clearance the hole in the drum a little more so the rope can be pulled through. Even better - ship the ZEON winches with the rope already installed!

a little too late for this video, I spent hours trying to get it through :s

way to cut out the hour long session of swearing and pulling to get the rope through the tiny hole. the wire they give you will break, even with a greased up rope. That's how much force it takes to get that rope threaded through.

Not once do they mention placing the provided guard on the rope prior to pulling. COMPLETE FAIL.

You made it look easy! I have a Warn Elite Bumper and a Zeon 10-S winch on the way. Not worried about installing that Spydura now. @muddyruttzz
