One of the best songs they ever wrote?? You realize they wrote this song (it may not have been %100 done) when diamond dave was still in the band! DLR talked about how some of the songs he worked on with the brothers ended up on 5150. He said after the break up all vh had to do was go back and use those demos, it's one of the reason why vh was able to put something out so quickly. Not everything on 5150 was stuff dave had worked on with vh. I believe three or four songs were used. Meanwhile dave had to start from scratch, and so it took longer to to put an album together.
@@stevemottola5443 I have garnered a lot respect for Wolfgang. He can play his father's stuff just like it was recorded and that says something if you can do that.

Awesome! As a guitarist I was curious how this tour would play out. Joe isn’t trying to replicate Eddie - and he shouldn’t. And Joe is very much on the record about how important/influential to him Eddie was from 78 on.
If you play guitar, you might know, with a standard tune guitar without that trans trem on the original ,that bouncy, slippery, incredibly EVH-centric rhythm lick is near devilishly impossible to get precisely like Eddie did , timing and feel wise , but Joe just killed at this show for all the clips I’ve seen thus far.
