He’s actually right about everything he said. I still really enjoyed this movie. I was never expecting an amazing script or for this movie to make sense (shark movies never make sense). I was sure that the sisters would be the only survivors but I felt they killed everyone in interesting ways and made very good use of suspense. If you allow yourself to just go for the ride the movie is taking you on, you’ll enjoy it.

I agree with you 100 percent I wasn't expecting much at all while watching this but tonight me and my 9 yr old son just watched this naturally he did enjoy this movie just cuz he loves sharks we had fun watching either get caught off guard by a few jump scares but it was fun to watch I don't regret it at all

No thanks, I'm good. I know sharks aren't blind but they don't rely on their vision to hunt. They rely on smell and their ability to feel electric impulses way more than sight.

The slomo die hard scene in the end when she shoots the shark with a flare gun..... was priceless!!!! Never laughed so hard ever and everytime they grab the ladder to the boat in the end a sharks bites them.... it was a comedy for sure. Yes she does a Bert, and Ernie call back, stating "here fishy fishy".... and the fish jumps towards them and screams!!!! Lol hahhahahaha

I loved the original 47 Meters Down. With the exception of the beginning and end part of the film, you're submerged underwater and it feels like you're on another planet

What bugged me about this movie and I guess every shark movie ever is that they would never act like this unless they are starving. And yeah maybe the ones in the cave are, but the ones on the surface are a different story. If an animal, including sharks, get injured they gonna are most likely going to leave you alone as you are not worth the hassle.

You do hear underwater but the sound vibrates your skull as well as your ear drum cause we are made of water that it will be difficult to localise the source and it will be very muffled. We have evolved to hear better in land but we still hear things in water.
The fact that Chris has been pumping out F reviews lately is evidence that today’s movies suck.
That being said, I just love hearing Chris talk. His reviews are actually well thought out and articulate.

You can hear things quite well underwater. The sound can be distorted but you still understand. Water is a good conductor of sound and having your ears filled with water is not a problem.

For a shark, being blind isn't really much of a handicap. Sort of like a human not being able to smell in regards to limiting ability.
Sharks have extremely sharp eyesight. Them having shitty vision is a common falacy.
@@Axolotl_Mischief some have great vision, some are almost blind, none rely on sight to the extent that humans do. Removing sight from a shark would not affect its ability to find or bite a person.

Apparently the diving team they took this equipment from had everything they needed besides the fins. And the girls just decided to yolo it cause the blonde really wanted to go see the temple or whatever.

As far as I know sounds you "hear" underwater are coming from vibrations of the bones of your skull. Not just directly from your ears as regular sounds. Anyway, there are special underwater equipments that makes you hear sounds without having something plugged in your ears or "headphones".

I really enjoyed this movie. Was just as good as the first movie in my opinion. Lots of jumpscares and so intense. Gave me anxiety at times but it was so good! Highly recommend it 🦈
This movie is a guilty pleasure of mine because I like shark movies.
Sharks have sensory receptors running along their sides.
They detect prey with that.
They can see any slight vibration in the water.
They have electroreception as well.
They can see weak electrical fields created by living organisms.
Also they have an incredible sense of smell.
Unless they give some explanation in the movie, the shark being blind wouldn't affect it at all, the writers just couldn't be bothered to do one minute of research.

To hear underwater we don't necessarily need headphones plug to our ears. There are special type of headphones that are placed by the bone that's between our cheeks and ears and people say the quality can be the same or sometimes even better than regular headphones.
I'm not defending the movie, I have never seen it. I'm just mentioning this because it may be interesting for some people. Great video Chris.

There is actually a plausible explanation for how they could communicate and hear underwater!
I haven't seen the movie, mind you, so I'm assuming it's a form of radio communication. I can see it as very likely that someone designing some sort of advanced diving system might want to use bone to conduct sound to the ears instead of air, since they're underwater. It's also well known and studied that you can easily conduct sound through your teeth-- they even make cute electronic toothbrushes that play a 2 minute tune through the brush itself, and it absolutely works to make you hear it (though it also is loud enough to hear without using your teeth to conduct the vibrations).
So there's little speaker/vibrator things connected to the mouthpiece that play the radio feed through your teeth. Bada boom, this whole movie is validated now. If that's hard to talk with, I guess it has to conduct the sound through their jaws where the mask is fixed? It probably would be awfully muddled by the skin barrier, but that's all I have.

2:24 You can actually hear really well underwater. Sounds travels so fast through water that it becomes almost impossible to locate sound sources and you can hear everything, even the sound of sand moving or fish gnawing at corals. Talking to each other with a full face mask is possible.
BUT.. guess how long you can stay at a depth of -47m with a single cylinder of compressed air? Roughly 2 minutes before you run into problems. Stay for 8 minutes and there is pretty much no way you'll survive.. And guess how fucking high you are at that depth? These girls wouldn't have realized what's going on because they would've had the mental capacity of a teenager drinking half a bottle of tequila asking a tree for directions at 5 in the morning. THOSE are the things that piss me off about scuba movies.. argh..
I haven't watched the movie. But i assume they go that deep because it's in the title. And i can't watch shit like that without going on a fucking 30 minute rant where i explain my GF the details of scuba physics and why that movie gets it wrong. She deserves better. So we didn't watch it. And we never will.

As a scuba diver- the part with the ears in the water is correct though :) sound travels different in water. There should not be a problem with hearing.
First one was better, the dementia aspect was cool. This 2nd one was def a hilariocity, I laughed out loud at the screaming fish part and many others as well. Save your 15 to 20 bucks and just see The Decent or The Cave for better versions of this.

One of my fondest movie going experiences is when me and a buddy were walking around downtown and decided to see Jason X on a whim. We had so much fun laughing at it and cringing at how bad it was that we still talk about it from time to time whenever the subject of movies comes up. This was a bad movie, but like Jason X, I suppose it can be enjoyable with the right group of friends.
