starting the weekend early uncle Ben? just wanted to say your doing a great job. here in the UK my wife even stops what's she's doing and watches when your vids are on. she hasn't got a clue what you're on about but she likes. keep up the good work my friend. from Manchester, UK.
I really feel like Ryan formatos "2012 the end is near" would be an excellent lesson for weekend wankshop, especially because is showcases sweep picking at a slower speed than usual so it would be a great example of something we as your viewers could use to practice our sweep picking arpeggios at a medium speed since the technique is almost always used at a extremely fast speed, I would really appreciate a in depth guitar lesson on this particular track.
Ben, frigg'in brilliant! I am wondering if your running "Instrumental Pickups" on your Aristides? Secondly, is that metal, copper and nickel flake used to oxidize to create that finish on your axe? I know that Aristides bodies are not wood, how did you get that unique finish? Cheers.
When constructing a solo how exactly do you decide what scale/mode your going to use?Why choose lydian over phrygian or aeolian over dorian ect. These type of questions always pop in my head
The only difference between modes is which note you choose as your 'root' or center of tonality since the notes stay the same, so I suppose it's all about the sound preference
I know I'm a little late but I think this'll help. Pretty much what the first guy said.. Basically a C Major = D Dorian = E Phrygian = F Lydian = G Mixolydian = A Minor = B Locrian.. (I think I got that right) This is just in C major/A minor key, but it's just an example of how you can decide what modes to play based on the key that is playing. Hope this helps.

Mix on that song is a little iffy in some places, but good nonetheless. That being said, I can't play any part of the solo, so what do I know?
Slightly above my pay-grade, but brutesque nonetheless!
has that prince sound to it ...

Ben could you break down the finale solo from polyphia? A sick lick starts at 1:40 - 1:50 it looks really hard though
PS, my fav Zappa album is "Shut up and play guitar".
do you fire up the ol' AX12 every once in awhile ?
My favorite LINE 6 product hands down
None of my guitars have a 24-fret neck. ;-;
