This is music to listen to to raise your spirits. Singing like angels, piano like it will sound in Heaven, souls joining in like the choir of Heaven will sound. God is so good to allow us to be blessed by this kind of music. I would have loved to be here during this taping.
As one viewer pointed out 10 years ago, our Baptist Churches badly need some Grads from this School and Musicians to come into our Churches today. Praise God for this Holy Spirit filled music! ❤
Thanks for sharing this beautiful music. God bless all those working at the Stamps Baxter School of Music. The next time He comes He'll be coming for me! Praise God!!
But, praise the name of Jesus, WE'RE NOT! The world has nothing to compare to the glory of knowing Jesus Christ and working in His Kingdom. Let's pray enough young people find this truth and carry on the pure Gospel.
They are singing this song, as it was written! To those who say "put more soul", you sing it how you want, but this is being sung as it was written and how the author wanted it to be sung. It so happens that the author is there, singing with the group.
Yessssss..and if God had wanted people to sing the first, third, and fifth verses of a song..he would not have inspired the other verses!! There is a flow from verse to verse. We miss sooooo much when we skip verses..just as we have lost sooooo much by changing from hymnal to projectors on the wall!!
It would be wonderful if graduates from Stamps-Baxter School would be hired as choir directors in churches all over America. However reality is that this kind of Gospel singing is so rare in church today it is virtually nonexistent. All you hear is twanging guitars that sound like they're preparing for the Antichrist. Seems like Stamps-Baxter School is mainly there as a nostalgic trip into the past, good and anointed as it is.
We sing the old hymns at our church! Madison Baptist Church, Madison, AL, if you're ever in the area. We've also been streaming online the last several weeks.
Yes. That's it right there. I hate the rock-n-roll guitar sound that modern churches try to play today. These people, especially Ben Speer, knew how to keep it sanctified, set apart from the world and its evilness.
That was Ben Speer, the youngest of the four children of Dad and Mom Speer. Harold Lane, who wrote this song, sang tenor for The Speer Family for 22 years. Both men have now gone on to their heavenly rewards…
IT WAS AMAZING THAT THE SPEER FAMILY WOULD INCLUDE A DISABLED BLACK PERSON LIKE ME TO TALK TO AND TO ENCOURAGE LIKE THEY DID IN 2001, AND, ESPECIALLY, IN 2000!
How beautiful is this song and singing. I miss this type of singing in our churches today. Glad I can listen this by way of recording

I will enter his gates with thanksgiving in my heart, I will enter his courts with praise! Hallelujah!
In loving of Rev. Harold Lane(1929-2011). One of the best songs he wrote.
I love..love..love watching this dear brother lead 🎶 music!!!
Excellent job as always too by Tracey Phillips, Pianist! ❤
Tracey, the piano accompaniment is just beautiful!!
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL, GODLY, AND, WONDERFUL PERSON I HAVE EVER MET!

I agree. I was raised in the Church of God with this type of music. We need these Grads also to lead the music.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SONG WRITTEN BY A BEAUTIFUL SOUL, AND, RECORDED BY A GODLY FAMILY!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful music. God bless all those working at the Stamps Baxter School of Music. The next time He comes He'll be coming for me! Praise God!!

I love the singing style of the Christians of long ago. It reminds me of my choir days at my Baptist Church here in Wichita, Kansas
BEN LACY SPEER'S VOICE TOUCHED ME HEART AND SOUL!
oh yes, He's coming for me.
What a wonderful thought and a wonderful way to hear it.
I LOVE THIS SONG!
BEN LACY SPEER WAS A BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL MAN!
THIS CAME OUT ONE DAY BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY!
I Love good Gospel singing, thanks
You are so right and it is so sad that our churches are succumbing to the ways of the world.
Amen
Oh how I miss Dr Speer’s sainted voice and the heart with which he sang.
YES, AMEN!
This is wonderful. I remember the Speers doing this sond. I love Tracy's playing and I love Harold Lanes song writing. Awesome job by the choir also.
And I had not realized this was a Harold Lane song! I've heard it for years!!
Hallelujah Glory to God
Such a great song. You all are enjoyed so much. Carol
THIS SONG IS ONE OF HAROLD LANE'S BEST!

This type of Southern Gospel is gone from most all Southern Baptist Churches in Upstate S.C. What has replaced it is 7-11 songs.
So true what you said as there is nothing but contemporary or choruses. I long for this type of singing again in church.

THIS WAS DONE THE DAY BEFORE MY 36TH BIRTHDAY!
The man who came up and sang a solo part...one of the Speer's? Joy, Joy filled singing to the Glory of God.
That was Ben Speer, the youngest of the four children of Dad and Mom Speer. Harold Lane, who wrote this song, sang tenor for The Speer Family for 22 years. Both men have now gone on to their heavenly rewards…

My husbands favorite song.
SIMPLY "SPEER"-SATIONAL!
Do a search on you tube The next time he comes with Lyrics
It could be the LORD'S RAPTURE take place, then the TRIBULATION PERIOD. Be ye ready for the LORD'S return.
IT WAS AMAZING THAT THE SPEER FAMILY WOULD INCLUDE A DISABLED BLACK PERSON LIKE ME TO TALK TO AND TO ENCOURAGE LIKE THEY DID IN 2001, AND, ESPECIALLY, IN 2000!
Does anyone know where I could get the words and music to this beautiful song?
😮
IN ANSWER TO A QUESTION IN THE COMMENTS, YES, THAT IS BEN L. SPEER, THE YOUNGEST CHILD OF G. T. AND LENA SPEER.
When was this? Is Tom Powell not the Director Anymore?
This recording is at the Stamps Baxter School.....Tom Powell is the Director of Alabama Gospel Singing School in Boaz, Alabama.
