    :O Bill, you are a true saint. I love how generous you are. I've never seen a RUclips channel that does so many giveaways. The products / locks you send out are always super quality, and you really took the time to think about this set and improve it for your viewers. That extra thought really showed me that you have a good heart and want other people to enjoy the craft. Thank you for being such a kind, caring person. It's rare these days.

    I've had one of these for 2 years. Added a Peterson Gem, Deforest hook and got spare Bogota rakes and standard picks.
    It is all I use now even though I have Sparrows and homemade picks, these GSP are epic.
    Great video as always ;)

    So, I received this set of picks today, having never picked a lock before. I have 3 padlocks that I've never had a key for, and in about 20 minutes I used the Peterson reach pick and opened the first lock. The single pick method wasn't working on the second one, so I raked it open using the purple handled rake, then opened the 3rd lock by the same raking method. I'm hooked!

Have a story to tell ( last week my family and I were on vacation and my wife locked the keys in our car, we were swimming at a state park, so I had no phone, wallet, or anything. I keep in mind what you always say about think outside the box and there is always more than one way into a lock I used a string out of a swimming trunks and a piece of wire slide the string through the seal around the door and the wire right behind it before long ( about 2 min) I had the door open). My wife said you got into that really quick. Kind of scary. Thanks again.

    the rubber picks do have a full tang. on the plastic handles picks, the pick only extends about a 1/16 inch passed the hole. so there is about only about 3/4inch total metal in the handle
    Peterson also offers a hooked diamond in . 018

    I've been using a Peterson Ghost Lock Pick Set for about a month now, and I'm really enjoying it. I recently watched the review of this set and became interested in adding the tools mentioned in the video.

    How are you Bill? First let me say I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. As much as I hate to have to say that, you are probably; although appreciative no doubt, tired of hearing it even more so we'll "squash" that. My name is Jason by the way & I've probably been following your channel for goin on 10 yrs. I'll say it's really a damn shame to see you go but if you must, you're definitely do'n it for the best of reasons. Family is LIFE man. Unfortunately we've only got one shot at this & whether we like it or not;🤷‍♂️none of us are get'n out of it alive. So the sooner we all get busy smash'n it the more FULL it's gonna feel when it is over w/. Also in case you were wondering, the "cred" for me, & I can only imagine how many other followers reaching out to you is all thanks to your buddy•the lock pick lawyer•who also makes some killer videos I might add, for spread'n the word. I'm sure you've seen the video he put out mentioning it. He really looks up to you man. You can tell he really appreciates & respects you. Those kind of PALS are a dying breed & it's really a bummer. That being said, if you won't "boast" on the subject I'll just say you've made a hell of an impact/impression on alot of people. Now, I'll leave it at that😂& piss off to the lock stuff... I was truly tring to make this comment as short as I could but I started ramble'n off & didn't realize it. I can only imagine that after 14 yrs. on the TUBE,😉I'm sure you're inevitably getting a little tired of reading comments as well.👌A little "ego stroke'n" never hurt anybody though. I just wanted to sincerely thank you on a personal level for the brain food about (& this is only for lack of a more deserving word/term at the moment) your EXTENSIVE knowledge of everything that is locks... My old man was actually the lock & door guy for the school corporation in my state so "by proxy" no matter how hard he tried not to bore me by jamming his proffesion down my throat we caught ourselves sitting around the garage, gun room, kitchen, tail gate, anywhere there was room for tools/lock stuffs' & tinkering away. I was hooked immediately! I'll go ahead & stroke my own ego just a bit, I've really put a whole lot of time & patience into it & I've gotten pretty damn good. Well rounded if nothing else, but nowhere near the beast that my Dad is. & it's certainly not from lack of trying,🙏but neither of us hold a candle to you. So I'll wrap this up w/ one last THANK YOU, you've been a huge inspiration to me & so many others & we are grateful for all the time & effort you devoted to your channel & more importantly, the 150% that you always took away from you & yours to give to your fans & followers! I think I probably speak for everyone when I say, that speaks volume, & I/we are all indebted to you for all the crash courses that you selflessly & passionately sacrificed your own time to give to us all.✊️You KILLED it broth'uh!!!🏁So, farewell to the man, the myth, the LEGEND!🥲We're sure gonna miss ya while you move ahead to conquer the next chapter in your journey & get to enjoy'n all the time w/ your FAM that you can.
    🗽🎆🇺🇲GODSPEED Bosnian Bill! Thanx for all the years. May the wind always be at your back, & the sun always shining.🤙

I was waiting for a 15$ price tag and for me to then tell myself "Man I should try getting started".. not after hearing that price tag. I'll just go find zip ties and learn to pick master locks with them from here on out.

    • @K0ester
      @K0ester 7 лет назад

      ComicallyBad these are "pro" picks, can find some decent sets, with 25 picks or so for about the same price. $25-40. With some modification at home they can perform pretty good. Rounding off sharp edges, clean up handles, etc.

    • @matthewmock9237
      @matthewmock9237 7 лет назад

      ComicallyBad my first "picks" after the old paper clips phase, which I still use in a pinch, were made out of old metal waste I could scrounge. Old hacksaw blades, rusted tweezers, finishing nails... anything that I could grind down to make picks that I could trash should the need arise. I learned with those so when I bought a starter set, for around $8, I was in heaven. Many years down the road now I still can't justify the pro prices, but there are a ton of sets out there that are worth every dime. If you're learning, maybe make yourself a free set if you can. If you enjoy it you can always upgrade later. Bill is even kind enough to score discounts for you on his sight. You don't need a grand master set if you're still learning masterlocks.

      If you are looking for a beginner kit i would look at the southord PXS 14. I started with that kit along with a lot of other people i know. It has 9 picks, 1 broken key remover, 4 tensioners and a nice zipper case. The picks withstand a ton of abuse while you are learning and are probably heavy handed at first. Best thing is you can get the set for between $20-30 depending on where and any sales.

      Hugh Fristoe as always, depends on what you're doing. I sometimes find myself picking in the cold, hazard of living in MN, so I favor the molded handles. I still think you get better feedback on the metal, but maybe that's just me.

      This is super helpful. I loved the Multipick set when he reviewed it a couple of months ago, but I waited to see if I won! Lol. I think it's time to pull the trigger. We see some cold in Texas (panhandle), but it's the biting wind that's the worst. I'd trade cold comfort for better feedback.

    Hi, ergonomically speaking, how would compare those Peterson plastic handles versus Sparrows Dark Shift thin steel handles (that you reviewed earlier in your video number 964) ? Thank you!

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  5 лет назад

      Sure, but first I have some questions for you. What is the most attractive color? Which car is the nicest? In terms of guitars, is acoustic or electric better? In golf equipment, steel or graphite? My point is there is no right answer for these (or your) question(s). It comes down to personal preference and opinion. Try both then you decide what YOU like.

    • @mikem8145
      @mikem8145 5 лет назад

      @@bosnianbill Ergonomics are mostly a matter of science (medicine, engineering...) and rarely a matter of taste. I guess you don't want to favour one or the other brand.

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  5 лет назад

      @@mikem8145 On the contrary, ergonomics is the refinement of a product's design so it can be used comfortably over an extended period of time. In the case of picks, they are designed to fit the human hand - which has wide variations in size and shape. There is no way to answer your question without at least half of the human race disagreeing with my conclusion. The ONLY way to determine if you like the shape of a pick handle is to HOLD it in the hand that will be USING it. I have no brand preferences and have a wide variety of picks on my workbench. I WILL say that I do not prefer dealing with Peterson, as I believe they are dishonest and take advantage of their customers, but YOU should not make your decision based on my opinion. Try several different brands to see what feels good to YOU. You may find that Peterson is the cat's meow to you and nothing else feels half as good. Or not.
