Gods Message for Your Lenten Fast - Matthew 6 : 16- 18 | Bible verse Reflection and Prayer |

Hello Everyone,welcome to our channel Spiritual Journey - Today we are going to reflect on a verse from the book of
Matthew 6:16-18 which says
16 “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Verse Reflection:
Jesus teaches us the proper way to fast in this passage. Fasting is a spiritual discipline that involves abstaining from food or other pleasures for a period of time to seek God and His will. Fasting is not a way to manipulate God or impress others, but a way to humble ourselves and draw near to Him. Jesus warns us not to fast like the hypocrites, who make a show of their fasting to gain human praise. They have already received their reward, which is temporary and worthless. Instead, we should fast in secret, without drawing attention to ourselves, and focus on our relationship with God. He sees what is done in secret and will reward us with His presence, power, and peace.
Let us Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of fasting, which helps us to deny ourselves and seek You more. Forgive us for the times we have fasted with wrong motives, to please ourselves or others. Help us to fast in a way that honors You and draws us closer to You. May we not be concerned with what others think of us, but only with what You think of us. May we experience Your reward, which is far greater than anything this world can offer. In Jesus' name,we pray, Amen.
