I had the NES version. The hotel level is a lot longer and harder in the NES version. I've made it to the tree once, but never past that. There's no save feature in the NES version, so when you run out of lives you have to start from the very beginning. I'm not sure about the SNES version.

Well, the first enemy is the Concierge, who strangles you in the first two seconds xD then the detective who stalks you in the first floor and can't be killed by the slide or somersault. Then the thugs, who are hunting you in the House level, so is kinda scary in a way
I remember being confused playing this game as a kid and I think I still am watching this lol. Nostalgic though. I’m with everyone else - the vibe of this game is creepy. I don’t think I ever made it past the bottom floor of the hotel. I have no idea if I even checked out all those floors in the hotel. I remember this being a frustrating game.
The pop sound when you hit a enemy. Epic!!! Lol I enjoyed this games even though at times I didn’t know what I was doing. It kinda had this weird scary but not scary vibe....
i remember playing it ae kid... i think i havent have gone much far than the first level... didnt mind the jump sound back then, but looking now they could have used another sample for it
This game terrified me. I would cry when my dad made me play this. He used to get pissed that I wouldn't play it even though I asked for it because he spent $80 to buy it when it came out.
Bones98 the creepy music and the way the characters move made it a big hell no for me haha my dad got me this game and when i first played it i was scared af
I had the NES version of this game, and while the levels were similar, the NES version is a lot less forgiving. The hotel level is substantially longer and harder. The sewer level is longer and harder in this version. The uncle's house is a lot bigger in this version, but when you fall underneath you just land on a below level instead of losing a life. The graphics are a lot nicer and cleaner in this version and you can actually tell what the items are.

Nice game and I’ve beaten it numerous times. The Uncles House level is one on the hardest. One thing is for sure though, this player is missing many of the secrets in the Hotel Level.
I sampled the Genesis version at a dept store and my parents took note that I might like this game and I got the NES version for Christmas (since I had a NES) and it was unpleasant and quite difficult.
I used to play this game when I was 3. Everything about it brings a lot of memories back. I never got past the Christmas Tree battle, in fact my SNES broke the same day I reached that part.
I had this game for the NES. It looks like a direct port. The SNES has a graphical makeover so it looks a lot better than the NES version but they still both kinda suck. I did beat the NES version though. For a while I couldn't get through the hotel stage 1 but eventually figured it out.
Idk why every gamer gives this game a bad review. For anyone that grew up poor and had to get whatever you can at a secondhand store, this game was always a banger.
I played this as a kid (still have it somewhere) and idk if mine had a glitch but my friends and I played it for HOURS on multiple occasions and could never get past the guy in the basement around 5:10 lol
Damn HOW SOMEBODY COULD POSSIBLE FINISH THIS GAME xD LOL I did play it when I was young and was stuck in hotel the first mission lol . If fact i never finish no game on NES. I beat double dragon i remember now :P
Why people give dislikes? I don't get it..The walkthrough is quite good I must say, and if they don't like this title then - who cares? They should rate it low on gamefaqs or sumthin', not here on a good video. I have similar problem on my videos. Feel free to check my walkthroughs of some classic games as well. Keep up the good work. This is definitely a thumb up from me! :)
Thanks. I'll have to check out that TMNT gameplay. I've never played it but I obtained a working copy several months ago and I kinda forgot about it before I ever got around to playing the game!
Seriously what the fuck was THQ smoking when they made this. I dont remember Kevin being attacked by suitcases and vacuum cleaners in the movie. And who the hell is that creepy dude in the grey trench coat?
It took me years to beat this game and I was at my whits end with it I tried to get a game over to play something else that I caught a glitch in the game when I couldn’t die at all

If my voice actor ever gets a series similar to this, I think he'll call it Home Alone X. He's older than Kevin, also smarter and stronger, like Mega Man X is stronger than Mega Man.
I would play this game when my kids went to school during the day and I thought it was the best thing when I was able to beat it!! Haha those were the days.
This is the one and only game I have never beaten or gotten past the first stage.
me 3! :)

you start over as well urrgh i beat it easy tho 18 minutes
I had no idea there was anything past the hotel and it turns out there was actual Home Alone stuff with traps and everything!
Andrew Rector snes version does not have save feature also
Harry and Marv apparently have the ability to just levitate up through the holes in the floor like a couple of demons.
I love this game back when was a kid, just seeing this gameplay brought back some of the best memories of my childhood. THANKS👍🏿
Nice try marv… we know it’s you…
Who the fuck are you bruh
@@marvinpeyton1340joke just zipped right over your head
This game scared the hell out of me as a kid and was soo hard to play 😂
Man this brings back memories....surely pissed me off back in the day...lol

Save states are definitely my friend with this game lol!
This game was scary af
Why?
@@thepest354 just because

I loved the part in the movie where Kevin gets chased by possessed vacuums and luggage.
Hahahahaha so true
As a kid I didn't know you could jump-spin into the people to kill them. This game was SO hard.
same for me!
I never pass the first level
funny to mention it while I'm commenting the game on facebook right now!

its the music that creeped me out as a kid
How in the world that folks suppose to know to knee slide for an attack

Happy 25th Aniversary Home Alone 2 both of them movies and THQ games.

I think that's plain cheese pizza you collect Kevin's favorite pizza

It scared me too!
Shit were snes games really that expensive? Even today that’s a lot of money. In the 90s that must have been close to a hundred bucks.
$80! Wtf! This is absurd
80 bucks for 20 min game :P
Screw what everyone else says, I love this game, still own it.
even Macaulay kauken hates this game
Mr 617 I ordered this game on eBay yesterday
JACK SPARROW Bahahahahahaha awesome
Warner Bros and Disney vhs dvd b collector lol why
Same here
Before I kept this game for 26 years, I used to rented out from Blockbuster. I still have the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo version.

13:03 A perfect example of why old school games are the best
I always felt like when the music got faster I was about to lose
This and San Francisco Rush were my two favorites

Spin jump, elevators, this is a Metroidvania.
lmao at the conversation at the end between Harry and Marv...ya turkey
Soooooo much nostalgia
No lie This game pissed me off so bad when I was young🤣
Happy 25th Anniversary Home Alone 2
We never knew how to play this game, we used to just let that guy at beginning grab the boy by the neck and laugh our asses off
I think that’s Tim Curry’s character the concierge
Nice game and I’ve beaten it numerous times. The Uncles House level is one on the hardest. One thing is for sure though, this player is missing many of the secrets in the Hotel Level.
I think i made it out the hotel one time in my whole life 🤦🏾♂️
Like how the genesis version starts
Out in an airport while this one
Starts out in the hotel.
This version is better than the Gameboy version
The Genesis version is actully a enjoyable game.
I sampled the Genesis version at a dept store and my parents took note that I might like this game and I got the NES version for Christmas (since I had a NES) and it was unpleasant and quite difficult.
Oh yeah way better game
Watching this instead of the movie..I shot this cartridge with a Crossman Pellet gun in ‘97, I believe.
all the memories with this game, i still having nightmares!
I used to play this game when I was 3. Everything about it brings a lot of memories back. I never got past the Christmas Tree battle, in fact my SNES broke the same day I reached that part.
That is almost as sad as Kevin's parents leaving him behind 2 straight flights.
Phil Nips damn hahahahaha brutal
This game made no logical sense.
That's why I love it.
✴🏃🏃✴
That because you never played the Sega version. Its not the game its the nintendo port that suck.
What's with the stripping chef?
Remember when I was a child
I had this when it came out never beat the first level
Love this game even though its hard af

The grating sounds.
When I played this game I never gotten past this stage because I thought it was very hard.

It gives me so much anxiety to watch this and remember the terrible controls and unreasonable lack of ammunition.
I played this as a kid (still have it somewhere) and idk if mine had a glitch but my friends and I played it for HOURS on multiple occasions and could never get past the guy in the basement around 5:10 lol
Hahahahaha damn
Luggages gave me nightmare I was stuck on level 1
This looks like more "the shining" game.
For some reason the pigeon lady isn't dropping food in the tree
Bro i never went out of the hotel
At 5:49, why is the man upside down with his pants around his ankles?
Memories OMG
Wished that someone can take classic games like home alone and make them modern and gory well more like the entire garden state is one gigantic level.
Damn HOW SOMEBODY COULD POSSIBLE FINISH THIS GAME xD LOL I did play it when I was young and was stuck in hotel the first mission lol . If fact i never finish no game on NES. I beat double dragon i remember now :P
LOL 9:24 FUCK THAT!
(Kevin pinches the woman's butt and she angrily turns around and glares at Marv & Harry)

Is it just me, or does Marv look like Bob Ross in this game?
And Harry looks a bit like Rocky Balboa.
Seriously what the fuck was THQ smoking when they made this. I dont remember Kevin being attacked by suitcases and vacuum cleaners in the movie. And who the hell is that creepy dude in the grey trench coat?
I stay with the Genesis one this time.

How the Hell do you push the Damn elevator button!?!?.. 😫 😂😆
It's been awhile, but I think you push UP on the d-pad. Took awhile for me to figure it out.
Macaulay Culkin FTW
Phil Nips
How come you didn’t wanna see the speech balloons?
I didnt beat this game till i turned 15
I cant open the doors with the keys what fo i push???
How u do the flip
Not 100% sure but I think Kevin gains that ability by acquiring the turtle doves, as seen in the beginning of gameplay on stage 1.
If my voice actor ever gets a series similar to this, I think he'll call it Home Alone X. He's older than Kevin, also smarter and stronger, like Mega Man X is stronger than Mega Man.
I don't think I knew you could hit enemies while sliding back when I was a god damn child... jesus lord 6:40 this was so hard wtf.
this game bring me memories, awful memories...
I would play this game when my kids went to school during the day and I thought it was the best thing when I was able to beat it!! Haha those were the days.
The only thing I remember in the movie that is in the game is the pizza
Glad I still have this! 🥰
way better than the terrible nes version
I dont remember any of this in the movie I must have watched a different version
I played and beat this as a kid. It’s not perfect, but it’s not as bad and unplayable as the AVGN says it is.
Actually AVGN Reviewed It With Macaulay Culkin
Yes! Check that video out.
@@philnips6133 hi is there a park in new york the home alone 2 park

+videogamefanatic 5471 Press X when it's flashing. You have to press it a few times. (5, I think?)
Keep pressing the elevator button until it opens. It's even harder in the NES version.
20min...bro i played 4years and dint finish
What happened to you, Harry?
I have this game and I did get pass the 1st level and that was it 😁😁😁
I was brought here from watching GameGrumps 😂
