Interesting video! My mother's cousin traced our family tree all the way back to a Spanish sailer in the Armada. Definitely a fascinating period of history.

What a fascinating video. Well done with the presentation. I think that Phillip II had also tried to marry Elizabeth after the death of her sister (maybe with a more sinister reason when he became king). It's an extraordinary time in history.

Yes he did! I didn’t delve in to that part of the their history as this was more about the shipwreck but yes….he was a very unhappy camper when that didn’t work out.

I'm a descendant of Juan Cavey on one of the Armadas ships. He ended up on a northern island.

There is a map on the googles that shows all the places Armada ships crashed. Really interesting and useful!

The English sent to Spain the counter armada and failed misserably.....but they wrote the history books.

So many lost for a pointless journey. Why not just return to Spain instead of the long northern route....

I think they genuinely thought that it would be safer. Not so much.
