- I went for a trip down the Logan River.
1. Because I had a freezer full of fish frames to get rid of and I was hoping I could get a mudcrab or two.
2. It was a beautiful day with a light breeze and I was hoping to try for flathead on the banks opposite the old gazebo.
I wasn't disappointed and I was kept busy while I was there with catches of stingrays, huge catfish and a variety of other species. Obviously I didn't film the catfish or stingray being caught and released but I did film the couple of nice flathead that ended up in my esky.
I hope everyone enjoys the video.
Thanks for sharing John, I’ll see you on the water one day.
you caught some great fish . 👍
My favorite table fish. Great work John.
Thanks 👍
Wow, beautiful quiet spot like that - peaceful and wouldn't even matter if one caught nothing.
I agree - it was a calm day on the water.

Yep - Carbrook Boat ramp - at the water park.
What baits for the flathead please John, you put in at the best boat ramp cheers Rich
Hi Richard - yes, it is the best boat ramp and Tony who looks after everything around there is a great guy.
With regards to bait - I was fishing with pilchards - cut in half and using a 2 hook gang rig.
Nice John, what lb line and leader do you run on those rods mate
Hi Steven. I fish with Jarvis Walker - Jimmy Crane rods - the 2 rods I was fishing for flathead on had 9lb line with 9lb leader. With 9lb line you can hold almost anything.
Did you get any crabs
Hi were down the logan river were you john.?
Hi Chris - I tried a couple of spots but caught the fish on the banks opposite the old gazebo.
