WATCH LIVE: FL v Danielle Redlick - Wife On Trial For Murder Day 2
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 9 июн 2022
- A woman stands trial for allegedly murdering her stepfather-turned-husband, and giving authorities a flimsy story about him stabbing himself and having a heart attack. Danielle Redlick, 48, faces a count death of second-degree murder, and tampering with evidence for allegedly killing Michael Redlick, 65.
The backstory between the couple is patently complicated. Michael’s second wife was actually Danielle’s mother. They allegedly married in the first place to get her better health coverage as she was dying of cancer.
“In fairness to Mike, Danielle’s mother was dying of cancer when they were dating,” an unidentified family friend told WFTV. “She had terrible insurance.”
The account is that he fell in love with Danielle after her mother died. They married, with Danielle becoming his third wife.
The union ended in bloodshed. Danielle Redlick called 911 the morning of Jan. 12, 2019. She allegedly told police that her husband got angry on the night of Jan. 11, took a bite out of her McDonald’s burger, and spit it at her face. He allegedly grabbed, pushed her to the ground, and rubbed his fist against her face while shoving her head to a stove, she allegedly said. This culminated in her grabbing a knife, but he grabbed it, and made “stabbing motions” at himself. She allegedly claimed to try to hide in the bathroom, while her husband was at the door apparently referencing the movie Cape Fear.
She claimed to find him outside in the living room, badly hurt, cops said. Defendant Redlick allegedly claimed she tried to save him using CPR. She couldn’t find her phone to call the police, and she collapsed in exhaustion next to Michael, she said. Danielle woke up the next morning, and finally called 911, she allegedly said.
But authorities said she was on a dating app about two hours before calling 911. The state of Michael’s body also allegedly didn’t match her story. Contrary to her account, an investigator said they found no signs of Michael vomiting, and that the bruising on his left arm was consistent with defensive wounds. He had fingernail impressions on his left forearm and a bruise on the inside upper lip of his mouth. There were no signs of a heart attack, no signs of bruising consistent with CPR, and his ribs were intact, authorities said.
Those who knew the couple allegedly said Danielle had a foul temper. Even their children allegedly said she was the one who usually started fights in the relationship.
Officials said that Michael Redlick had sustained a fatal stab wound to his torso, likely dying in minutes.

How people behave and act in public or work can be completely different to how they behave at home or in private! My ex was great to others but mentally and physically abusive in private. Completely different person. You never know what people are really like behind closed doors. Have to wait and see all the evidence.
Obviously
exactly!! you never ever know someone's private life
👍 totally agree

Exactly!! Same here.
The blood Analysis/ specialists is exceptionally experienced. Love this man!!!
Why wouldn’t they bleep out the witnesses private info? Phone numbers, addresses etc. 🤔
My thoughts exactly
@@bluegreybaby I didn’t mean in court, I meant on RUclips. The channel could have bleeped out the information.
@@nursenikki513 l and c are way too lazy for that, haha
It amazes me at how rude every single witness has been on cross examination. A person can answer questions, truthfully, without attitude and tone. So unprofessional of the forensic blood analysis dude.
I agree people should be professional on the stand ,not rude 😒. Just make your point and that's it 😉 👍.
they all think they’re geniuses, lol. their behavior proves otherwise.
Your full of crap, he was NOT rude at all, maybe you are just a snowflake !!!!!!
Lol
Disagree! Didn’t find him unprofessional at all! Agreed w the defense Atty 99% of the time! At his age, tiring answering same ?’s 10 different ways 😡.
This guy is fascinating. Would love to take one of his courses.
Why do they have witnesses disclose their address? That’s dangerous
I would ask the judge do i have to staye my address
Doesn't matter, all our info far beyond our address is available online. Tons w/o paying, imagine if you paid the 1.99 for a full record or 9.99 a month for unlimited searches and full records!!
The judge was all upset over and reacted harshly over a 3 second video mishap, but has no concern over all the miscarriages of justice on the witness stand.
Usually is not aired and silent so we don't hear it. I have no idea why they allowed it.
@@bluegreybaby I'm not talking about addresses, I'm talking about all the other junk that's being let in, such as, all the hearsay, police officers reading other officers' statements, witnesses reading her journals that are not experts, non-experts talking about cell phone use, etc.
Hi from Australia. So happy I stumbled on here
It would help if we could see the photos during the blood expert’s testimony.
It's nice to see this again, with more time , but can wait for Monday for sure. ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕
The defense lawyer let the remark 'after she murdered her husband' go but objects to putting a date on an e-mail??? Perhaps she wants to make up for her HUGE mistake by raise nonsense objections later.
This whole trial is a farce! Officers and others reading others' reports, non-experts testifying about cell phone use, reading journal entries, emails, hearsay rules broken everywhere... No one is objecting?? And so much else that is never allowed in another court room. A complete disaster! And watching, or trying to watch and hear it, is a disaster. Not seeing exhibits, all the noises, audio being cutout... There judge is more worried about the camera crew than actually "judging" the trial. A complete travesty! If there's a conviction, it will likely be overturned for total miscarriages of justice. It will be retried. Hopefully, with a better judge and attorneys.
@@TendrilsTalonsAndTwigs I totally agree!
Why would someone continually turn their phone on and off like this? I rarely ever turn my phone off.
Having people give out their private phone number on a live trial stream. Not the smartest.
Lawyer - “And your job is to investigate what happened?”
Detective - “Yes”
Lawyer - “And to find out what happened”
Brilliant start…..
Key Question . If Mr. Redlick was able to walk from where he was stabbed to bedroom and back to his resting place, why did he not attempt to call for help??
In day one of testimony, someone testified there was a missed call to 911. I forget who’s phone.
Maybe he used her phone and was the one who misdialed twice as he was going unconscious.
OH MY GOSH!!!! This Prosecutor.... he is INCREDIBLE!!!! Absolutely AWESOME... has done his research.
No
Agreed, he is great at his job and to listen to! Same with the prosecutor in the Chandler Halderson Trial, a good trial to watch
An interesting day. It’s difficult to understand what was going through Danielle’s head in that huge amount of time between the stabbing and the 911 call. I hope she testifies because right now, especially after the specialists presentations, she is hard to relate to.
100% agree. I was giving everything I could to give her the the benefit of the doubt due to her body stance and facial expressions (innocent until proven guilty), but after the specialists, I'm trying even harder to not judge her.
In my defence, lol, it is humanly hard to not auto judge someone who projects themselves as angry, more intelligent, and justified at every cause. At the least, that's me anyway 🤷🏻♀️
They said in either pretrial or another meeting outside the jury that she would be testifying. Or they implied that anyways.
the stuff you learn about just by watching these trials.. wow just wow.
It would have been nice if I could have seen the photos 🤬
This defendant looks like this trial thing is really boring her.
Right?! Like she's annoyed at being inconvenienced by this trial 🙄
She's not bored.
She's dead inside.

Didn’t these people learn anything from Amber and Johnny’s trial?! Don’t look at the jury like that, it’s creepy
I don’t think it counts when you’re a police officer though 🤔
They are the ones who have to be convinced. All the explanations are for them so I think they are actually instructed to speak to the jury and make connections.
That does not apply to expert witnesses. They need to look at the jury to explain their expertise and findings. As per Dr Curry from JD trial. If you've only see the JD trial, then you would not know experts and law enforcement look at the jury.
Johnny and Amber trial was nothing to be compared to this one…this is a criminal trial and not a celebrity civil case…and now everyone in the comments is an expert on the judicial system because they watched AH/JD trial?
Another one of you 🙄
Blood testimony is excellent to fall asleep by. I shall add it to my YT "sleep" folder .
I did twice ! Afternoon naps! Had to rewatch a 3rd time.
Boy this one is hard to sit through. The state was not prepared as far as I am concerned it takes them forever to ask or reply to anything.
Prosecutors don’t have a large team of help silly. This isn’t the Depp trial
38:34 no objection to "after she murdered her husband"? did the defense attorney fall asleep?
I automatically objected when I heard that, lol
The Judge seems like a nice lady.
With a very soft sweet voice 💗❣️
I hope to God that lawyers start to realize how utterly ridiculous it looks for witnesses to address every one word answer directly to the jury. Please. Stop. Doing. It.
Though it may seem ridiculous that is what they are told to do. They’re there to relay information to the jury.
@@bluegreybaby how about this:
Lawyer: was the box locked?
Witness: (to lawyer) No.
L: you did not need a key, is this correct?
W: (to lawyer) correct.
L: Were you able to open the box?
W: (to lawyer) Yes.
L: What did you find inside the box?
W: (to Jury) We found a stack of envelopes bundled together with an elastic band, two keys on a ring, a Nokia phone....
Answer the direct questions to the attorney, describe longer details to the jury. This wouldn't be nearly as awkward looking and still engage the jury in the testimony.
@@staystrong8966 Yes! It drives me crazy too.
Please educate yourself. Expert witnesses are trained to appropriately answer to the jury. This exchange of question & answer is for the jury. News flash the attorney already knows the answer. Why do you think they regularly say “can you tell the jury”.
@@MsK_1111 I get that. I get the "please tell the jury..." But they don't ask them to "tell the jury" Yes or No answers. They ask them to "tell the jury what you saw when..." They ask the witnesses to tell the stories to the jury.
I know nothing about this case but the fact that she married her step-father. I have questions. Now I'm gonna have to sit through this trial.

@@michaelmantinaos8330 At the time of his death, Michael was 65, Danielle was 47. She looks much older as you see her here in court at the age of 48 because her very long hair obviously turned gray rather early in life. As to the step-parent marriage situation, Michael was first Danielle's stepfather, having married her mother, Cathy after 3+ mos of dating in order to give her better health ins as she was dying of cancer. Upon Cathy's death in 1999, Danielle and Michael married and had two children.

Danielle met Mr Redlick he liked her very much, she didn't feel the same, introduced him to her Mother they became friends. Mom got cancer, older man married mom to give Mom med. Insurance, mom died...daughter and older man remaind friends married when Danielle was 31 older man 48.
My sentiments too. I commented on this earlier. I would love you to read it and get your take on my thoughts.. I'm Tammy Sims.
The recording of her and the cop was awful. It didn’t show anything because you couldn’t understand a thing
I'm guessing some of the quality was lost in the recording we are watching but was fine for the people in the room
The defense is being way crazy about the coworker... sheesh. How do you explain how you became friends with someone without implying that you thought they were friendly.
Watch the co-council guy sitting behind the defense table at 6:20 + He looks bored, almost asleep and then seems to roll his eyes at his partner's question to Mr. James. Man, if I was a jury member I'd have my eyes peeled at that.
I think the judge is sleeping, too. She takes so long to answer any objection because she has to read the transcript to know what was said. This whole trial is a disaster... She will have another if convicted, due to all the miscarriages of justice. I've watched many trials, and never one that has broken so many rules.
She was 31 when they married and he was 48.
The 2 children are the only innocents ones. Poor kids.
I know this is trivial but it disturbed me when I saw one of her dating profile pics that included her young son, again involving an innocent child in some pretty smutty behaviour, certainly doesn't show good choices as a parent...... all of this is so sad for these children.
@@tashtatkat9045 people do this far too often and on social media also. Family blogging should be illegal too.
They were dating for about 4 years before they married. She said in her testimony that they were living together around 2000. She was born in 1973 or 1974 (can’t remember which year they said). Which would have made her 27 or 28. That means their relationship was 18 years, not just their 15 year marriage. She had her first child before they married. She would have been 22 or 23 when they started getting involved romantically. He was 43 or 44. He was 21 years older. Definitely should have known better than to pursue his dead wife’s daughter. She said she was impressed by his “worldliness”-he should have restrained himself from dating his dead wife’s daughter. She was still impressionable. He should have been the adult.
I don't know if I missed something, but it doesn't seem to me the gallery, judge or attorneys stand for the jury? Seems weird since it's been a long tradition of respect shown to them for their service.
Evey state, county and courthouse has their own standards and traditions. What's normal for a civil court in Virginia isn't for a criminal court in a metropolitan city in Florida. Each Judge can set their own rules as well.
I've been in & viewed many trials in 2 States & we Always stand for the jury when appropriate; I think it should be the formal/respectful standard everywhere.
@1 hour and 41 minutes when the lawyer asked the lady on the stand if she observed that he had only one stab wound you could hear something that sounds like an EVP saying one!
Can the attorney say "After she murdered her husband" , if she has not been found guilty, and it is still during the trial process?
Well she did admit to stabbing him then he died so I would say that’s murder
They can say whatever they want, it’s up to opposing counsel to object.

And the Judge. Seems like a rookie.
I’m confused, if you can’t go into specifics why bother having witnesses. The prosecutor asks questions & then yells don’t go into specifics. My friend is a lawyer, I get there are times & situations when they can’t go into detail, but every neighbor they’ve had testify to basically nothing.
Sound is bad on multiple occasions. Someone is rubbing against or breathing on the microphone, audio of recordings needed bass and couldn’t be heard, lawyers or witnesses were too far away from microphone. Also, evidence and exhibits were shown in the beginning, but was discontinued afterwards for most everything. How is this supposed to be educational if we can’t hear or see everything?
can't wait for this to be consolidated and on my True Crime channels
Monsters,misery machine,jcs , something I keep checking too 😂
These lawyers are horrible..
The witness is being asked a question by the attorney into a microphone. There is no need to turn and look at the jury with every answer. It is uncomfortable to watch. The conversation is between the attorney and the witness and the jury is observing.
It’s obvious many people like you do not know that expert witnesses are trained to answer to the jury.
@@MsK_1111 I know they are giving testimony for the jury’s consideration, of course, since they will be deciding guilty or not guilty. I have been on 6 juries, and we never required the witness to look right or left at us directly. As long as the witness can be clearly heard, the witness can look at the attorney that is asking the question. I would think that would also save a lot of neck strain for the witness.
@@joannepollak5843 you’re right jurors don’t request that. Expert witnesses are taught to answer the jury.

That prosecutor has the most smackable face I've ever seen. His glaring impatiently as the defense rightfully examines documents is so f'n rude.

Trying to folliw the case but the audio us sooo bad.
It has its moments but there are worse audio trials out there. This is actually refreshing to those.
You can and will be frustrated by your own witnesses at times but don’t be a jerk about it in front of the jury when your witness seems so honest, believable, and knowledgeable in his field. People make mistakes, even you Mr. Prosecutor. This treatment being one.
I love this judge!!!! She wants to leave at 5:30 and HGTV is a great channel for the jury to watch instead of the news 🤣🤣🤣
How does April 29 to June 17 become "Several Months Later"?
How is her online dating relevant to whether or not she murdered or stabbed him in self defense? It was established that they were estranged..
It shows she was focused on "moving on." They had already attempted to get a divorce and then decided to try again...so maybe she decided to kill him instead of getting divorced. Most people think they will get a bunch of insurance as the widow...instead of having to split 50/50 with an ex. Only problem is insurance does not pay out to a murderer...
They proved they knew she was on the dating site while her husband lay dead bc of the meta data. Put yourself in his shoes or if he were your son or father or brother. You seem to only be seeing her side. We should look at both sides throughout.
I’m not even sure how she could claim self defence, although they are in Florida so 🤷♀️

I noticed that while the blood expert was talking about the broken piece in the bathroom, Danielle nodded her head ever so slightly. She was agreeing with him that that piece was broken before blood was spattered.
If I understand it correctly, Danielle says that they had an argument the night before, which would have been on Jan. 10th, and she locked herself in the bathroom and he kicked the door in.
