Yes she was putting Jeopardy when she lost her legal protection but keep in mind Louie the 16th and Marie Antoinette who did have legitimate Regal status were also beheaded and their son was beaten to death
I have really enjoyed the mistresses series. Where king’s didn’t see their wives as nothing more than a “must have” they were easily manipulated by their mistresses showing just how weak the kings really were. Such an excellent series, Jon!
Her end was tragic indeed. She could be heard shrieking and sreaming as shecwas led to the guillotine,it was a blood curdling scream that sent shivers to alot of people in attendance that bore witnesses to her exacution.Very sad,she was a good woman and helped people, didnt abuse her powers ,but used them to help others, including intervening on their behalf to the king.RIP madame du Barry comtess Bucu.❤
Madame du Barry could have never been presented to the queen as she, the queen, had already passed away. Madame du Barry was rarely politically inclined in her position. She preferred fashion to politics. The rest is pretty much correct information.
It seems they were blamed because of the misdeeds of others. Louis 15th had already put the court in fiscal jeopardy by overspending on court extravagances and mistresses. Everyone who had not escaped to the UK and other places were guillotined.
The Comtesse du Barry has never lived in poverty. Where did you get this from? There are many great books from reputed French historians out there to read from, and not from the wannabes writing books sounding like tabloids.
In my mind being born illegitimate to a single woman, a seamstress is being born into poverty not abject poverty but poverty none the less. She only spent a short time in the convent then sold trinkets and herself (prostitute) on the streets. Not a middle class woman at all.

She was like a moth drawn to the light 🕯️ of a candle...but she was burned when she flew too close to the flame...
It's a powerful metaphor, isn't it? Sometimes we get too close to things that we know are risky.

Please answer why Louis 16 and Marie Antoinette were beheaded because of this man and his Louis 14 extravaganza
The French Revolution was a tumultuous time with many complex factors leading to the execution of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
It seems they were blamed because of the misdeeds of others. Louis 15th had already put the court in fiscal jeopardy by overspending on court extravagances and mistresses. Everyone who had not escaped to the UK and other places were guillotined.
@@l.b.2592 Also by financing the American independance war. It conteributes greatlu to bankrupt the country.
Guilt by association, that's what killed her, the poor woman!
She is way prettier than say Arabella Churchill.
👏 👏 👏
Thank you

As a Comtess she probably didn't but look at her early life!
@@HistoryRoadshow She came from what we call now "middle-class". Far off from being poor.

Yes you're right, maybe confused with Madame de Pompadour...?
@@veroniquegene408 Madame de Pompadour came from an upper-class background.
