KTM 150 XCW TPI - HARD ENDURO AND FAST SINGLE TRACK

- In this video I go for another solo ride on my 2020 KTM 150 XCW TPI in the Reiter Foothills State Forest and explore some new trails that I haven't been on before. I've ridden at this location many times, but due to logging I wasn't able to ride these trails previously.
I had a ton of fun on this ride between the hard enduro terrain and exploring the new single track. I'm starting to get more comfortable on the bike and pushing myself to be more aggressive. On top of all the great riding it was a beautiful day so I made sure to stop and check out the scenic views.

I’m envious of your riding trails.
What a view, damn!!
We're pretty spoiled out here in the PNW, and I've only discovered a fraction of the riding places so far 🤘
Beautifull nature
Love your intro, never stop improving
Thanks! That's the plan 👍
Try to grip the bike with your legs more and relax your hands. It will help I'll promise. I takes sometime to get use to but it's worth it. Your legs are a lot stronger than your arms. Keep a tight core for corners and steep hills.
Dude ur pretty good at enduro. U nearly stacked it hard at 3:30 😂 but still, ur good at it 🤙🏼
Thanks man, I appreciate it! And yes, I did nearly fail there haha 😂
Really enjoying your channel. Keep grinding man! I just picked up my 150 xcw TPI today! Can’t wait to get some seat time. I’m also in the PNW (Oregon) any good trail recommendations would be greatly appreciated! 🤙🏻
Thanks so much! I hope you've been enjoying your 150xcw. I haven't ridden southern Washington much yet. I would recommend Naches, WA, however.
Good riding mate. I seriously considered a 150 but I ended up with a gas gas ec 250 instead. Seeing how you're ding on that bike, I really want to try a 150 tpi.
Thanks! I bet your 250 is awesome.
Fantastic trails over there, you must be blessed having those monthains at hand to ride.... Same for me... in the Carpathians. I found your channel actually by searching info on a 150TPI. I am actually considering buying a Husqvarna TE150i bike just to improve my riding skills. I started dirtriding last year, in my low 40s... on a 350 EXC-F. Extremely nice bike, but a bit too tall for me and intimidating in the gnarly stuff. Beying a 4 stroke, I learned riding the lazy way as for this engine it doesn't really matter if you aproach a steep hill climb in 2nd, 3rd or 4th... It just has the grunt for it. However, the more technical bits are complicated for me as the bike is tall (970mm seat hight) and quite heavy feel (it's 109kg dry weight, but being a 4T you feel that rotation mass). I noticed you riding mostly standing... how's your stamina? Do you exercise on a daily basis? At my age, my back is killing me after a 40-50 km ride. Also, the gnarly stuff is quite exhausting.
Anyways, long story short, just wanted to whish you good luck with the channel, I really enjoy your videos. Also, I like the voice-over stuff. Keep it up!
Glad you found the channel, we're both extremely lucky with our riding areas! I'd love to ride eastern Europe some day. Based on what you said I think you would really enjoy a 150 TPI. Phenomenal bikes, very capable, but you need to work for it. You will definitely find this bike to feel MUCH lighter and easier to handle through technical stuff. Also, I'm sure my stamina is about average. I ride about once every two weeks and rarely work out.
Glad you are enjoying the content 👍
10:29 Worth it
Its so nice to have Reiter pit open again. I thought we lost it for good. Very fortunate to have a nice place to ride close to home.
Agreed. Upon reviewing the trail map from DNR it looks like the "hard enduro" section that I rode is not a designated riding area. The way to get in there is right off of a designated area and is extremely unclear. It is covered in rock etc. like most of the other trails and then slowly turns into that open forest.
I've seen them working on some new trails that will take us up to the moon landing area, I'm looking forward to those getting completed 👍
Haven't been there in a couple weeks. Can't wait to see whats new.
BTW. If you stop by QFC in Kirkland on the way home, I'll cut you a custom steak! My way of saying thanks for posting videos like this.
@@curtiswiggins1211 downtown Kirkland or Totem Lake? I work in totem lake 👍
Urban Kirkland .new store.
I just stumbled onto your channel and subscribed. Recently purchased a new 2021 KTM 150 XC-W. I'm in N. Utah, My daughter lives in NE Oregon, so planning on bringing the bike up for some rides eventually. If you are ever in N Utah area, let me know. We'll hook up!
Thanks for your support! Riding in Utah is on my bucket list, one of the most amazing places I've been to in my life is Moab.
This is one of the bikes I want when I'm older. Also I really wonder if there are places like this in Central Minnesota?
It's an awesome awesome bike!
I have never ridden in Minnesota unfortunately so I'm not sure!
Hey buddy nice content.! Does the 150 have enough power to go uphill in 2nd
Most definitely!
Have you had any problems with the bike yet? I have a yz125x and I don’t wanna deal with jetting. I’m lazy with that. I work a lot and when I’m free I just wanna ride.
No real issues. It did need a reflash but has been perfect since.
Best you have ever rode
Thanks man! This was definitely a good day :)
How large is this park?
It's really hard to say. I couldn't find much information on park size on the DNR website. I could probably ride all of the "true" single track that is currently open in 2 hours if I never took a break. It isn't huge, but with some of the trails being reopened there is quite a bit more available.
Nice vid mate, I'm in the market for a bike and was looking at either a 125 xc or 150 xcw, you still like the 150 ?
I still love the 150xcw. Would definitely recommend, and I'd definitely go for the 150 over the 125.
@@206bGoss It'll take me a month or two but i'm gonna save the money and buy one. thanks for the reply :) EDIT: Start making vids again buddy :)
@@deeznutz.85 You won't regret it. And I may be able to this year. I had my second son and life has been busy. I also got into trials riding a bit so I plan on doing some trials videos too.
I love your vids. In my opinion to reduce the most arm pump, is to get the Flexx bars. The are so sick. And to help reduce the most arm pump out of the bars, put the blue spacer in with the small yellow spacer and put the nut on the second thread. That is how to reduce the most arm pump in my opinion. Also in my if you get a chance try to make it out to Colorado and ride in Crested Butte and Taylor Park. So sick out here 😎
I need to check this out at some point!
Still can't decide 150 xcw or 300, $1500 in price difference.
Save the 1500 for fuel and tires…
150 is plenty of power and 100lbs lighter
@@bobs6486 No where near 100 lbs lighter than a 300. Stock its about 30 lbs less. Both are great bikes. Money is a big factor but buying something only to regret it afterwords can be painful.
Depends on the your skill, strength and body weight.
I have a 2021 150 xcw tpi.
Been riding since a kid and 54 now.
I'm 5 ft 8, 159 lbs and in decent shape for my age.
My opinion is the 150 will not lack in just about any riding situation. I'm blown away with it myself. Only thing is you might need more frequent maintenance.
But the nimble light feel of the bike is well worth it. I've had some big bore bikes before. I believe it's best suited for heavier riders. You can only go as fast as the trail let's you and I'm certain a good rider on a 150 will easily keep up with the rest. Good luck!✌
If you want a light and nimble feeling bike that will challenge you to improve your skills and be a little less forgiving then you can't go wrong with the 150. 300's are phenomenal machines and are very forgiving to mistakes.
Eliminate arm pump by getting up forward on your bike, it will feel like the bike is pushing you up the hill vice pulling you up the hill. Use your legs!
Was practicing this on a ride earlier today, video coming soon.
Riding Walker tomorrow at 9. Come rip with us.
Heading back to walker is high on my to do list. Unfortunately I won't be riding tomorrow 😔
Next time you’re headed to walker let me know. I’ll get the guys together and we can all ride.
