It’s a karting thing. Saying “push me” inside the helmet clearly doesn’t work but they will tap the back of their helmet which is a sign for “push me”. If they work together in a train they will be faster allowing both of them to catch the kart further up the road. The draft is EXTREMELY powerful in karting so once they’re on a straight the kart behind will quickly catch up and can basically just crash into the rear of the kart in front giving them extra speed and in the end actually being mutually beneficial. Once they do catch up to the kart in front it’s everyone for themselves, obviously, but it can be beneficial in order to catch a kart that might be a couple seconds or more ahead.

Yeh its a kart race, what do you expect. The skill of the drivers is so far apart and the width of the karts relative to the track compared to f1 cars to the track is much smaller too. Naturally you are going to see more overtakes, you've just made the most obvious point ever congratulations.

What would be more interesting to me, is an F1 driver comes to a karting he's never been around before & goes straight in to compete with competitive karters in a local championship. See how he does given it everything in qualy & race on a track he doesn't know, but the others do.
the really interesting scenario for me would be if he would come to my local tracks (or any other where the situation is the same) and while momma's boys will take the only 2 good karts he will get something 1.5-2 secs per lap slower. Will he beat them? And I don't mean that he would compete people who make few noticeable mistakes every lap, but local cool kids that know the track very well and pretty much have no theoretical idea on how to improve their time more. I'm not saying he won't beat them, I just really mean that it would be very interesting to me to see his genius

What would be more interesting to me, is an F1 driver comes to a karting he's never been around before & goes straight in to compete with competitive karters in a local championship. See how he does given it everything in qualy & race on a track he doesn't know, but the others do.
the really interesting scenario for me would be if he would come to my local tracks (or any other where the situation is the same) and while momma's boys will take the only 2 good karts he will get something 1.5-2 secs per lap slower. Will he beat them? And I don't mean that he would compete people who make few noticeable mistakes every lap, but local cool kids that know the track very well and pretty much have no theoretical idea on how to improve their time more. I'm not saying he won't beat them, I just really mean that it would be very interesting to me to see his genius
You only have to look 5sec at his posture in the kart during the race and everyone there could see he was good :)
