yes our weather here is just getting good for out door activities, here in the north east usa. i purchesed you tube red just because dans channel is great.
Hey Dan, that's the pinpointer I use when I'm not using the probe on my E-Trac. I love the Nokta pinpointer! :) And I can vouch for the battery life. I've been using the same 9-Volt since I got mine last year.
Grate review Dan. If we do not see you useing this pointer in your next beach vid . we will keep an eye out for it on our shores over here in the states. LOL.
I had the choice to be sent any model of pin pointer just as a little bonus . I asked for the Garrett Carrot . Then I decided to ask the suppliers which one they thought best . They recommended the Nokta . After seeing this review I'm glad I chose it . Might be here tomorrow if I'm lucky . Cheers Dan .
Dan I own 2 Makro brand pin pointers and they are identical to this pin pointer. the carrying case the covers the buttons and light. I would think that Makro manufacturers this brand. I owned them for 2-3 years. they work great and i would recommend them over any other brand
nice pinpointer, rivals the garrett. Had one for 16 months and found a bunch of tiny objects due to the settings. Only one I trust and waterproof in the waves.
Thats a fantastic pointer.and a bit cheaper love that.might could when you get used to it you could turn on off when in sheath allowing to be one hand operation.i dig the covers too.nice job dan.
For your trip on the coast, I would suggest dehydrating food so it is smaller and easier to carry, I would also suggest that you set up a food menu for your trip. Good luck!
Dan, you'll quite fast change the way you think of turning it on. You just press the on button on the back before you pull it out. And that's the pinpointer I'm taking about :)
Nice review Dan! The pointer is actually waterproof to 1metre. The button on the end is actually easier to use if you take the pointer out and put the tip of the pointer in the ground where you're searching (upright) and then you can switch it on with one hand, it also ground balances that way. I've had mine for 4 months and its a great machine. @fsls13 most of the Makro pointers have only 4 sensitivity settings whereas the Nokta has 10, there are a couple of other small differences too.
Hi Dan nice review and had mine just before it launched and it's still going strong, it has been dropped, thrown, lost and drowned but it still comes back for more lol, certainly a good bit of kit and love the 10 levels of sensitivity especially when looking for deeper finds to save you digging the wrong direction :-) ATB GL & HH
It doesn't have a place to tie a string too. I say this for the river or lake hunters because it they don't have it tied to something they may lose it. Just a thought.
they missed the little things ,like.......... the attachment for the lanyard. Bird dog showed this to us and it is very important. But...... you did a nice job on showing us the tool. It would have been nice to see how it worked in the ocean. The ATP is always going off. The LAND AND SEA tool works well in ocean but.......... sometimes you must change the frequency of the detector or move the detector coil away from the pin pointer or you will get a lot of chattering on the head phones. HH GL & God bless
The Nokta Pinpointer is classified rating IP67, where the 6 - Totally protected against dust and the number, 7 - Protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m. So don't go diving with it. It's the same with the Makro pointer that I have. So to say they are waterproof is perhaps right, but don't drop them too deep ;) -- edited for misspell --
The Nokta pointer has a rating of IP67. (I found this info on the web) That's a shame for a waterproof pointer. Anyway, the first number refers to the protection against solid objects, and the second number against liquids. The higher the number, the better the protection. First Number (solid objects) 0 - No protection (Sometimes X) 1 - Protected against solid objects up to 50mm 2 - Protected against solid objects up to 12mm 3 - Protected against solid objects up to 2.5mm 4 - Protected against solid objects up to 1mm 5 - Protected against dust, limited ingress (no harmful deposit) 6 - Totally protected against dust Second Number (liquids) 0 - No protection (Sometimes X) 1 - Protection against vertically falling drops of water (e.g. condensation) 2 - Protection against direct sprays of water up to 15 degrees from vertical 3 - Protection against direct sprays of water up to 60 degrees from vertical 4 - Protection against water sprayed from all directions - limited ingress permitted 5 - Protected against low pressure jets of water from all directions 6 - Protected against low pressure jets of water, limited ingress permitted 7 - Protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m (around 3ft) 8 - Protected against long periods of immersion under pressure up to 3m (10ft) This rating chart is for 30 minutes. After that no guarantees. As a comparison: Garrett Pro Pointer = IP66 Garrett Pro Pointer II = IP66 Makro Pointer (Nokta twin sister) = IP67 Garrett Pro-Pointer AT = IP 68 White's TRX Bullseye = IP68 Golddigger Land or Sea = IP68* Deteknix XPointer Wader = IP68* The last two pointers with the "*" only list the water rating in their brochures (3m/10ft), but it doesn't mention their dust protection level, but it should be safe(?) to say that their dust protection rating would be like the other pointers (6). One thing to note, the Golddigger Land or Sea pointer is the only one in the list that is supposedly waterproof to 6m/20ft.
Appreciate this is an old posting but just a heads up for anyone currently shopping around.... I have just got into detecting (for small gold here in Australia) and after much research, purchased an Gold Monster 1000. In my newby ignorance, I didn't research pinpointers, and trusting in the Minelab name, purchased a Pro-find 15. Big, expensive mistake. Way too insensitive for relic hunting, but even worse in my case, totally blind to small gold. Chucked it in my bad judgement bin and after much research, have ordered the Nokta pinpointer. Very few negative reports and it's apparently great on small non-ferrous targets. Hopefully it will perform as expected.
Hey mate , just wondering how your getting on with the Nokta nowadays? I’m off to buy a Minelab Nox 800 tomo and was looking at pairing it with this pointer after reading your review , cheers
I received this Nokta as a prize on a RUclips contest about 6 months ago. It started out fine and I was really liking the orange accent colors compared to my previous Macro pointer. A month ago it stated behaving erratically. A lot of times the power button will not power it on and I am required to shake the pointer, tap it on the ground, or sometimes take the battery cover completely off and reseat the battery to make it work. Even then after it powers on it sometimes powers right back off again. Some times it will even power up but only have vibration and no sound. Really really frustrating. I contacted Nokta and they asked for a video of the problems. After uploading the video they said the control unit might need replacing and advised me to contact Kellyco repair center.
+Deep Digger Dan No misuse. I've been doing this a while and treat all of my equipment well. I didn't say that all of the Nokta pointers were bad...just my particular experience. I don't particularly care that you jumped right to misuse though... Plenty of things could lead itself to malfunction. Maybe the box was dropped during shipping, maybe a bit of foreign material was introduced during manufacture. Who knows? But suggesting it's is an "all or nothing" situation is not realistic.
Only problem i can see is that the holes which holds the protector in place will probably get stuffed with mud and stones etc (if you do it without the protector). This will either break the pins of the protector when forcing it in place or make it messy to put on again.
+Deep Digger Dan That's true. Just thought if you by accident have removed the protector for cleaning or such and have to use it without the protectors. But i like the machine, seems great for the price :)
At first I was thinking that the control buttons at the bottom would be an inconvenience which still seems so but thinking about it it makes good sense to keep dirt and sand out just like for the speaker.Right?Good review.Thank you
When would u use this? is there like an extension pole so u dont have to crawl around with this or do u use it after you have found something with the big detector? many thanks
Good review, Dan ! Very informative, and it helps a great deal to hear about the small details like the position of the on\off switch and the speaker. Does this pinpointer have a lanyard loop ? ( so glad to see that you must have had a bright and sunny )
Hi dan can you let me know what software was used on the Scotland trip Interested in the split screen mode thanks Pointer is great need to get one of them
they're great when it comes to warranty! my nokta fors core stopped working last week so I emailed them and they're now sending me a replacement control box all the way to new zealand
Good video, thanks! I have one Nokta pointer, is really hard, fully waterproof and I have 3 comments: - I dont have idea how to make a ground balance (to use in salty water). If you know, please teach me. - The buttons at the bottom are perfect. I turn on before take from my belt, like a cowboy before shooting :-D - The internal electrical contacts of the inner lid are the worst part. In mine all the plastic divisors between theme were broke and now I need to cover very carefully each time I need to open and close to replace the battery. The problem is because when have sand or dust at the bottom and you try to adjust, all the part try to rotate and finally brokes the set. Anyway, I prefer it instead of Garrett Propointer (my wife have one and sometimes we swap them. Thanks again, liked and suscribed to your channel. Greetings from an argentinian in Brazil !
My Nokta constantly beeps on the 9 and 10 setting. When you bump it down to stop constantly beeping, if you turn the pointer tip up, it starts beeping again. By the time you get it stabile, you nearly have to be touching the target to make it signal. IDK, I must have gotten a bad one. Also, some of my friends have gotten the same bad ones. Nice review tho. Do another one in a few weeks of use with it.
+Dub Coco I have the macro badged one and it is the same if the tip is pointing up it will go off all the time and if you even gently hit it on a stone it will go off constantly till you switch it off and back on I have emailed the company and they have asked me to send them a video of it happening.
BIGSCOTSCHEF I don't know why they want a video. All they need to do is walk to the warehouse and take one off the shelf and try it themselves. lol I'm pretty sure they all do it.
LOUD...I put a piece of cloth tape over the piezo speaker and carefully punch a hole through with a toothpick. The smaller the hole, the less volume...Attracts less curiosity seekers that way.
+Sian Spencer That's a million dollar question as everyone will have their own opinions and will give you a different answer. Personally, I prefer the Garretts. Having saying that, the Garrett will be left in the car as a backup once the new pointer from XP is released.
I am advised by my English friend that Digger Dans accent is from Yorkshire? is this correct because i am an Aussie and cant always tell what part of the uk someone is from.
+Deep Digger Dan Many thanks Dan. A big ripper, beauty, bottler, bonza, good on ya cobber digger pal mate, from all of us down under! Its a great accent by the way! cheers

Great review. I use the pulsedive myself but may get one of these as a backup. 👍
For a unboxing, you know that pp. well. Thank you for the review, excellent as usual.
thanks for the reviews..going to look into that when I buy a pinpointer..excellent! :)
It's a good probe...... Been using one for months now and its not skipped a beat 👍
Dan, you'll quite fast change the way you think of turning it on. You just press the on button on the back before you pull it out.

Just got my kit of Simplex+ v02.78 with pointer and wifi headset ,and gift shovel. 479€ . Tomorrow will go and collect it.

would love to see you use it on ocean finding different targets.
Keep up the great job.

its great that there is some good products at a more affordable price, i haven't used a nokta yet but im very happy with the deteknix x pointer : )
hey thanks for reviewing this
Good review Dan , nice pointer
It's good to see some real competition with the pinpointers, with luck it'll drive prices down a bit with the better known ones.

Great review Dan
Nice review Dan thanks for sharing.
Always use silicone grease on the o-ring
Another good video dan well done
great video Dan love your videos
I just bought one of these... i know its worth it, but i hope the beach is also worth it

+Deep Digger Dan That depends on why it is failing. Bad component? Bad design that contributed to make the component fail?
+Deep Digger Dan No misuse. I've been doing this a while and treat all of my equipment well. I didn't say that all of the Nokta pointers were bad...just my particular experience. Dan have some more Banana's helps with Potassium, my legs ache when I bend down too. The average Chiquita banana contains about 422 mg of potassium.

thank you dan ☺
For these who dont know the makro pointer is the same, although i like the black makro version more than this because it looks better in my opinion
Deep digger Dan what is your favourite Metal Detector of this year so Far because I personally like the Deteknix metal detector/pointer
When would u use this? is there like an extension pole so u dont have to crawl around with this or do u use it after you have found something with the big detector? many thanks
Great review

Good review Dan, but I still can't see past the Deteknix Xpointer or wader for price & durability, do we really need 10 settings on a pointer.
great review I just order a couple I guess I will have to try one out.
just brought one of these great review of what i think is a great pointer. hh keep up the good work dan 👍
Great review man!
Hi dan can you let me know what software was used on the Scotland trip
Interested in the split screen mode thanks
Pointer is great need to get one of them
Looks like my Makro Pointer. And i think it comes from the Same Factory. Everything ist the same . :)
+Deep Digger Dan ah good to know. Thanks a lot.
It was beeping when you threw it in the water, was there something metal there or does it just beep when underwater?
good video. know how nokta is with their warranty's? I'm in a toss up now with nokta or deteknix and going to order a teknetics T2 detector
they're great when it comes to warranty! my nokta fors core stopped working last week so I emailed them and they're now sending me a replacement control box all the way to new zealand
+Deep Digger Dan thank you for the replies. think I'm gonna check out a nokta for myself. this will be my first detector and pointer so I can't wait!

+Deep Digger Dan they look the same :) both are waterproof :)
What's the price range of this pinpointer
you're the Best ☺
how much in American Dan? I can look it up but I like to keep you on your toes so to speak. LOL! Great video as always!
nice one
***** :)
Where do you get your metal detector from? + amazing videos and could you mention me in one please.
The need for to hands to turn on, and small buttons would make it difficult to use with gloves on. I would need three hands. lol
Dan I know a place to go when metal decteing I heard that in the isle of man there are stuff from the past good stuff
That's gold, Jerry! Gold!
Depth of detection underground pls
How to avail?
How much?
hi dan bud like ya vids, inspired, i hav a garret euro ace could ya tell me if its ok for the beach please thanks
Thanks mate your great
Does anyone have any ideas about being able to put a lanyard on it?
Nice price
Might get one !?
+Deep Digger Dan got to get the money first lol
how much did it cost because i need one.
+Deep Digger Dan okay now i know thanks dan:)
pukka review again dan,get in!!!!
Where do I get it
+Deep Digger Dan can you give me a shout out next video
Looks good , What's the price in US dollars?? Great vids Dan keep up the good work,, Cheers! :)
*Google*
I have been pondering on this water proof feature. Now if it is waterproof 2 metres down, Why wouldn't it be waterproof 3 metres down ? I honestly don't get it.
I think maybe the pressure from 3 metres down could force water in.
i have the nokta pinpointer
+Deep Digger Dan i have the same
☺
just 6 cm of range
Garret AT pointer would be my option
1 meters deep
😂
this vid is not for people with a dirty mind xD
+Deep Digger Dan :D
☺
