Hi all, you might notice some odd artefacts or ghosting in the video, especially when moving my hands quickly on the fretboard. The editing software I use has just had a big update and this is out of my control, but doesn’t really effect watching it 👍🏼 cheers
Cool! I was looking for something like this. I did change the String Singer side on my Duellist to be warmer because of a bright amp. Decided to changed it back when I switched to a more balanced amp. It's a truly useful option. Still contemplating the Vintage fuzz dip switches... Can't decide what I like better.
Your on 🔥. Keep the videos coming. Seems you have an insane amount of gear. Would love a video of how you got started playing and collecting everything.
Haha thanks 👍🏼 so in the first sort of 6-9 months of the channel that sort of info was peppered throughout, and then I did my All My Gear video at the beginning of this year 👍🏼 cheers
Nice tones. The dip switches do sure give some versatility. King tone really makes some nice pedals!(except for the price). The fuzz is really smooth though!
Fiddling with internal switches saved me from selling my Duellist. While side A is good to go as stock - I hated side B with its buzzy decay and weird lows. Side B went quickly from blah to awesome
Great video James, I love this dip switch thing in those pedals. The only thing that put's me off the King Tone pedals is they appear to be designed to work with Strats/single coil style guitars. as you said SRV tones.
Cheers graeme 👍🏼 yes - definitely the duellist and blues power feel best with single coils and give that srv vibe! The fuzzes i would say work pretty well with anything. Ariel Posen uses a mini fuzz (the ge one) and his main guitar - that blue mulecaster with a type of mini humbucker and also his bespoke 335 type guitar go really well with it - he says live his drive goes Jan Ray > Broadcaster AP and then sometimes adds the fuzz to the jan ray too (you Must have seen this new rig rundown of yesterday?)
@@JamesOnGuitar No I've not seen it. To be honest I was'nt too impressed with his new album. He seems to have softened to a more pop/soul type thing. His guitar sound is tamer and those great little instrumentals that peppered his first album have gone too. I was going to buy it from Bandcamp and thought I'd have a wee listen before hand, glad I did.
That’s funny, i don’t really love the music either - his live performances are often great but i’m just sort of listening to the guitar - i often find the same with joey landreth and to a much larger extent same thing happened when i tried to listen to john mayer back in the day. Their guitar noodlings and tone are more what i have enjoyed, such as on the carter vintage videos for example
@@JamesOnGuitar Agree with those two completely as well, another one who's recorded music is nowhere near as good as his Carter Vintage noodlings is J.D Simo.
Loved the dip switch extravaganza. I too just leave my settings in the stock configuration. I guess Im not much of an amp tweaker. I love the King Tone but find it hard to come up with the new price. Im looking for used on reverb. I really enjoyed the Case guitar video. I instantly went to his web site to see if I could afford one of his guitars. They are beautiful. His semi hollow is outstanding and would get my money. Thanks for the videos, they are very enlightening. I am longing for the Morgan MVP23 versus the Mesa Boogie Fillmore. I am ready to pull the trigger on one of these amps but am torn between them. They both call to me !!!! Keep up the good work, love your channel.
Cheers! 👍🏼 Funny - i am filming the mesa vs morgan video tomorrow probably for Sunday release :) any particular things you want to know? Yeah those Case guitars are seriously worth the money - beautiful to look at and to play 🤟🏼👍🏼 Yeah, the king tone pedals are pricey, although they really fill that niche for great vintage sounds - especially the fuzzes 👍🏼
@@JamesOnGuitar the morgan seems blues oriented and the boogie seems more rock n roll. If the boogie will do the syrupy blues thing too then is it the more versatile and probably the better buy? Or is the morgan good enough to do anything and then the better sounding choice ? I am a huge fan of Josh Smith and love his tone so i lean towards the Morgan but wonder if ill miss the two channel flexibility. Thanks for your thoughts on the matter. Bud dall and mobrules are both me. Two many accounts!!

My two favourite drives I own dualist and mini fuzz Si, loved this video... will open up the back now. Cheers
Im really wondering wich one to take... blues power or duelist ?
That Blues Power is so cool man. I need one! Sounds wicked.

Yeah, so many options. A lot of love goes into those pedals!

Great video! Thanks for showing the guts of them!!

What are your new settings?
Just curious, what settings did you settle on for the B side and what music styles are you using it for?
Thanks!
Good god....wonder if my pedals have these dip switches. Sounds great 👍
Yeah, it is a really cool feature of these pedals! Although i am sort of glad all pedals don’t have them!!
Hey pretty cool vfx!! how did you do that? is it some plugin?
Thanks! No it was stop motion photography basically 👍🏼

Hopefully my latest video broached this a little 👍🏼
I have the Si Fuzz... should i also get a Dualist or are they similar in some ways?
They work well together i’d say 🤟🏼
Hey James, is the Case strat proving to be as good as you hoped?
Keep up the good work.
oh god yeah, it really is! I love it - and Jon picked a great set of pickups that break up just when I went them to :) thanks!
FWIW the BB preamp isnt a bluesbreaker circuit
I know (now), thanks
